If you are well off in India don’t think of coming to live in Canada, UK, Australia or USA. These countries are for those who want to work hard and succeed.

The economic situation in Canada isn't really well summarized by an 11 minute video generalizing the entire country like this. There are massive regional income and productivity disparities between provinces, with worker productivity, median income, and GDP per capita being highest in the province in Alberta, and lowest the east coast maritime provinces. Quebec being rather poor overall (compared to Ontario), and it's place in the federation is a whole other discussion worthy of an entire video series related to Canadian economic problems. Canada is also not a typical federation; the provinces have a very large degree of autonomy and jurisdiction over affairs within their border than other subnational units in other federations. So yeah, as a Canadian with an academic background in economics and political science, I have to say that this video is a gross oversimplification, just something to note for anyone that may not know much about Canada.

I immigrated to canada 1999 and canada have changed alot . Work opportunity are no near as good. Health care is awful. If you are struggling with mental health or any other medical problem good luck waiting for a veryyyy long time. The housing prices and rentals are extremely expensive. Taxes are high and prices are high as well. Social life is dead. U are a slave to ur job and bills. I live in alberta finding a job is a little easier then Ontario. Winter is very harsh. Honestly if ur living comfortably outside canada? Avoid coming to canada by all means. Life is verry hard here ?.

I would have the same advice for anyone thinking about immigrating to America at this time. If you are somewhat stable where you are, stay there. The cost of living here is rising dramatically, and the crime rates seem to be as well. It's work, work, work, and at the end of the day there's no money remaining.

Of course, if you're successful elsewhere, why discard it to move to the West? Otherwise, this guy isn't saying wnything that's not alreeady known! In developing countries, you don't get security, good publi education, utilities 24/7, a working government, no social safety net (aka welfare), etc and you're absolutely on your own. You can't discuss any one thing in isolation. The difference is day and night. Also, time is money and everyone has to be accountable and responsible with both. As an employer. would he appreciate his employees getting paid to waste either and get paid for it? A reason developimg countries aren't doing well is because they fail to understand this, hence the waste of time and everything running late and not as quality. If it was great, why are the developing countries' economies so bad. My family and I got permanent residency in Canada back in 2016 and it is true it is not worth it. My spouse and I hold PhDs in Health Services Management and Biomedical Research and were educated and trained in the UK. I was serving as a professor of Biology in my country at that time but Canada wanted me to start over at the bottom as well as my husband despite our proven track record of experience and credentials from accredited British universities. We opted to stay in our home country and today we are far better off and more accomplished at home than we would have been in Canada. The skilled migrant worker program offered by Canada is really for young persons under 30 without families, straight out of unoversity and who are not senior or established in their career. Most notably, we are minorities and felt that we were discriminated against when trying to acquire housing in a surbuban community in Canada and the same was experienced when registering our children for school. Honestly, we did not feel welcomed at all and opted to return home after 8 days in Canada.

I was very well settled back in India, but i left India for my kids future. Within two years in Australia, i brought our house. I believe, leaving India was good decision this is because i got the position . according to my education.

As a second generation Nigerian immigrant (parents were born in Nigeria and I was born in the US). I 100% agree w/ his perspective. I’ve spent consider amount of time in Nigeria w/ my side of the family that’s doing well and the other side that aren’t. Aboard should only be for people who have no opportunity back home as in they have tried everything and nothing worked for them. If you are doing well in Nigeria, try and give birth to your kids in the US so they can retrieve citizenship. There is no reason a successful person back home should sell their things and move aboard even for kids as you can send them aboard to receive an education and help them gain citizenship and from their they can file for you. The amount of systemic racism, odd jobs you will have to work (God forbid you don’t have a degree and you move aboard for non degree purposes that’s when aboard will show you pepper), cost of surviving is expense here especially now as inflation is high. It’s just not benefiting especially if you were better off in Nigeria. However, this shouldn’t stop you from coming just know that the road isn’t easy and some places are worse than others. I’ve never been to Canada but have been to the UK and by far would advice anyone from back home to avoid UK at all cost. Not even sure how Nigerians are even making it there lol (it’s a never ending cycle of poverty plus citizenship is very difficult to gain and the discrimination in my opinion is much worse than the US. UK society has a class system and it only really empowers British people. The UK is so bad that they even discriminate against Eastern Europeans that should let you know a lot.) Also why do you think most Brits Nigerians come back to Naija hoping to secure job compared to American Nigerians and let me tell you it’s not because the UK is close to Nigeria, there is a true lack of opportunity. There are more opportunity in the US and possibly Canada compared to the Europe.
