I love Canada

This feels disingenuous ,other countries don't face the same flood of people seeking immigration . You illuminate some of the hurdles but offer no solutions , just a seeming pro_Canada stance .

Watching this while my passport is being stamped with my permanent residency visa at the Canadian embassy. 100% agree, Canada is definitely poised to win the war for talent while the U.S rests on its laurels. It's only a matter of time before those millions of highly skilled workers joining Canada's workforce makes it more globally competitive than the U.S...

Indians prefer USA above canada due to its harsh climate andthere is no problem with pay in canada for indians because education is also cheap in canada so no student loan debt on foreign students

The US might offer more money for the same job but you left the higher costs out. Canada is safer, you have better chances of not getting shot in the street or at a routine traffic stop, you can raise children that have a higher rate of surviving to finish highschool, finish college with less debt and less pounds and you can retire with decent healthcare. All these are advantages that eat up at the US pay bonus and some can't be bought at all.

As a first gen Chinese American, and to be fair to the US, please remember (1) US has a border with Mexico, which means illegal immigration is so much bigger than legal ones that it sucks up much of the government immigration resources. (2l when the US population is as small as Canada's today, US was not only letting in people from all over the world but also giving them free land (google the homestead acts).

I have friends Sanjay and Rohan. Both immigrated to Canada

Canada's immigrants arrived legally. Without sizeable immigration Canada can't fund it's social healthcare system. Right now the U.S. has no way of knowing how many people simply crossed our very open Southern border.

Pierre Priority List:\n1. Introduce G3, G4 license for the drivers from Brampton\n2. Introduce policies to make Brampton diverse.\n3. Limit the number of illiterate Baljeets coming into Canada and ruining every locality.\n4. Get rid of reverse racism.\n5. Bring common-sense in the family-courts during a divorce hearing.

Really no difference between both countries We kill in different ways. America with guns and drugs. Canada with drugs and MAID. For those that don't know the what MAID is. Medical Assist In Dying. Government sponsored. Not too distant future, Canada will overtake the U.S. in yearly non accidental deaths . \n Funny, Canada has been portrayed as a friendly Peace Keeper. Now we will be known as People who die quietly, without a fight. Ten Thousand last year alone. At least we lead the world in something

Yep, after 10 years of living in Canada I’m moving back home because of these exact reasons. It’s outrageous the cost of living here. You just live to work with no hope of owning a home. Absolute joke.

Bit biased, at the same time a lot of people leaving Canada a lot going to Australia. Just because one couple had a bad time in Australia doesn't mean it's a worse place than Canada.

I once lived in a neighbourhood in Canada with rats, bedbugs, roaches, pigeons, seagulls, crows, drunks, hobos, criminals, drug addicts, trash, fires, violence, theft, etc \n\nI would choose that neighbourhood over the best neighbourhood in the USA every time and I hated it there

Not a chance. Abortion is universal health care in Canada and a woman's choice not decided by some 50+ year old male. The US has no universal medical care, gerrymandering, crazy firearm legislation, different culture, rampant racism, anti-gay, Fox isn't journalism and we have laws about that, sorry folks. The US seems culturally backward.

The truth is that medical and other costs are exorbitant in Canada . Also medical facilities in India are very advanced now. However the most important factor is that there is no country on the planet like India. And now with a modern booming India who would want to leave its shores. Finally, the education system in India is far far superior to Canada. For seniors Canada can be a living nightmare.

I'm an American who moved to Canada in 2009 and I'm quite happy never living in The US.\n\n\nWhile Canada is not immune from many of the social ills of The US, they are nowhere near as prevalent.\n\nGun crime is far less of a problem here. Racism exists but it is not as virulent here and the government, while not specifically trying to help me (I am black) it is not trying to hurt me or dehumanize me.\n\nLife is just...generally...more civil here and community minded.\n\nI'm not saying that I hate The US, just that I. Much happier and feel safer here.\n\nAt my age (62), that is important to me.

Canada is becoming more and more like America. I would never live in the States and wouldn’t mind peacing out from Canada and immigrate overseas. American views on civic responsibilities, guns, christianity, healthcare, manners, ethnicities, education are uniquely American… really toxic, bigoted and narcissistic

Lol moved out of comufornia and wont go back. Heard many say they left comufornia to a red state and wont go back. Just too bad they didnt learn to vote different. Leave 1 shit hole to a red state but still vote blue then that state becomes comufornia. If i left canada to the states i would never live in comufornia. Biden lovers can move to canada and trump supporters move to the states. Biden and castro run canada, trump runs the states. Lets see who has it the best in 10 yrs

If I were to leave Canada, and I'm not, my first choice is not the US, it's New Zealand and then several European countries before considering the US.

Definitely, Yes. Been thinking about it for awhile. Canada's socialist medical control has affected myself and my hubby badly.

I use to live and work in the USA , and I really enjoyed my time there . I'm First Nations Indigenous , the biggest thing that I noticed for me being Native , I felt more love and less prejudiced in the USA , many Canadians , I said this to be very surprising , mind you, I'm talking from a Native perspective and I have many Black Americans that live in Canada felt the complete opposite to my feelings. I also liked the better pay because of less taxes too but my diabetes and chronic pain and the cost of living with diabetes ultimately made me decide to move back to Canada , and being Native , the health care and all associated costs with chronic pain and life long diabetes care is totally free for me , being a First Nations Native Canadian ❤

Canadian's reaction to US right-wing politicians and Christian nationalists is not out of step with many Americans. However, it is an overwhelming majority here in Canada. For example a poll of Canadians in February 2022 found that 68% believed democracy would not survive another 4 year term of Donald Trump as President, and 47% were concerned about the US potentially becoming an authoritarian state.\nThat being said, President Biden had a warm welcome in Canada's Parliament, and is generally well regarded here.

Sorry but it's actually NOT good health care by comparison to other countries including Canada. International studies and comparisons place the U.S. near the bottom in fact. Many countries, including Canada, have longer life expectancies, lower infant mortality and equal to or better outcomes across many diseases. America also has the most expensive health care in the developed world with millions not covered at all. Canada and other countries with single payer cover all of its citizens for roughly HALf per capita what Americans pay. This video is great and sums it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wY6RuO8EUY

I've been to the US probably 8 - 10 times in 52 years - I would never move there, I love Canada too much.

Words of experience: The older you get in Canada, the more you appreciate the health system, especially for seniors.
|

I will answer this in true Canadian fashion... ya... No. School shootings stats from 2009 - 2018 show USA had 288. The next highest was Mexico with 8. Canada had 2. In the USA 2023 there have been more mass shootings than days so far this year. We love watching the USA but it's a bit like watching a TV drama. We love the people but we watch (in disbelief) the politics and your gun laws confuse us and make us sad. I can't help thinking people in the US are like the frogs in the pot. Put a frog in a boiling pot and it'll jump out. Heat him up over time and he'll boil to death. I think you guys are heating up.

Tldr, No\n\nI almost moved to the US, I was going to a US university having an absolute blast. I was seriously looking at staying in the US. I had a job offer for when I graduated. Then 2001 happened. On September 7th i got on a plane for a funeral back in Canada on the 10th, return flight was the afternoon of the 11th. Of course that flight never happened.\n\nIn the shadow of 2001, how the US has been changing has been disappointing to watch. What's frightening is how Canada has also been changing

almost anyone (above a sertain age) in Canada can own a gun. the big difference is that no one has the right to walk around with it as they wish...

Never. I would shoot myself before I would move to the USA (finding a handgun might be tough as they are generally not available at my local convience store) Health care is a very small part of it. 5 friends over 20 years being returned from the USA in body bags. US culture is very infantile and toxic. I have tried once for 2 weeks 20 years ago and I literally cried when the plane crossed back into Canada. Racism was so much more extreme than I could imagine. The worship of the Money God was horrible. Also all the small things like the fear enhanced news programs and desentization to human rights and lack of freedom. ???

I've only just started this one but I've got to comment.\nUSA if you have health insurance, you still have co-pays. Even for things like an ED visits. And you pay, either through work or on your own, monthly for that insurance.\nIn Canada there is no co-pay, full stop (at least not in my province) and no monthly fee.\nI work for a call center and the client is an American health insurance company, so I've seen the invoices that hospitals send to the insurance. I've seen the co-pays the patients have to pay with insurance covering the rest.\nI'll take the wait for none critical care, thank you. Critical issues don't have that wait time, that's what triage is for.

Sorry Tyler, you walked right into that hornet’s nest... no clear-minded Canadian would ever willingly move to the USA unless it was for money or, as you said in the first 20seconds, ‘stuff’. When people talk about the USA, they talk about ‘stuff’ and ‘things’ , usually easily replaceable ‘stuff’ and ‘things’.... when people talk about Canada, they talk about ‘people’ and ‘places’. It’s not the stuff and things that make a country great, it’s the people and places... there’s a reason why not one Canadian has ever felt the need to make, sell, or wear a cap that declares ‘Make Canada Great Again’, because Canada has never stopped being great, and that’s because of its people and places.\nSorry again, bud! ??????
|

Absolutely not! In Canada we help eachother we have health care for all and we don't need to worry about a child being shot in school with an automatic weapon! To add our law enforcement officers serve and protect ! The USA police are corrupt and certainly dangerous!

Was it Robin Williams that made a joke comparing the US and Canada. Not sure I will write it properly, but it went something like this. 'Canada is like that very nice apartment just above a meth lab.' I'm sure you all know what the meth lab is right?

Very true. I go to America and Canada to meet my children. For older people day start with cleaning utensils, cooking food, washing and cleaning home. And no social life for older people. Very costly everything. No friends, very lonely life. Children have their careers, life so they r helpless. My son in America provides us with all luxuries but very boring after some time. Love my life in my home, my country. I have my social life and love it.
