Well before I adapt that belief about that part of Canada, I will have to hear that from more black folks and their experiences because she didn’t give any real specific examples. I'm a manager of a family from Nicaragua, and they work harder than a lot of my American crew members. Central American people are some of the hardest workers and just want to work and raise their families in a safe, wholesome environment.\nI love the men and women I train. They want to learn more of the safety procedures and how to do things by policy, instead of cheating, they work hard and very fast, they learn English very fast and they love to teach me Español. They're some of my favorite workers and favorite people in general in my workplace. I'm working on getting a couple of them promoted to management with me.

I wish Canada did more R&D. We have the talent and brains to be innovative, yet so many of us go work in the oil & natural gas sector because it pays handsomely.\nAlso to live in the most scenic provinces like BC and Ontario is crazy expensive. We moved from AB to BC in 2009 which my parents bought their house for $550,000 that's situated 40km East of Vancouver, and today their house is valued at 1.4 million... almost 3 times the original purchase price in just over a decade. Now an adult, my wife and I were forced to move back to Alberta and leave our families because we simply cannot afford to rent there nor ever have an honest shot at saving enough money to buy our own place. It is what it is and I'm sure it's a common theme that's not only exclusive to Canada, but man, it does sucks. I'm happy for any immigrants to move here and call Canada their home too, but many are loaded with money and purchase numerous properties just to then rent it out at an absurd rate because they can. It's fueling the problem worst and making it unfair for the born & raised Canadians.

Illegal entry is illegal in any OTHER countries. Why do a lot of Americans pity them and want to accept them when we can’t even support our own homeless families, young kids without parents… America is suffering so much rn. No reason to pity them. This doesn't move me with sympathy, it moves anger in me. My family and I were homeless in the U.S. all because I decided to further my education with a school who claimed to be accredited and all this stuff but quickly found out it all was a sham....so in not securing my deposit on a new place or being financially able to fight an eviction were the property basically got paid twice for bs they didn't handle...all because the irs took my income tax which I was depending on being I just started a new job and had 3 weeks before my first paycheck...we were on the street....everywhere I turned was a wait-list and no one I mean no entity would help us..... claiming lack of funding or some proof of homelessness other than papers proving your eviction....just so many ridiculous things....it took us a while to get off the streets and this is kids born on this soil....with a citizen who never been in trouble with the law, 3.8 gpa, educated and motivated and employed.....on the street and although now we have a roof as U.S. CITIZENS still struggling to find our footing....and STILL NO HELP...NOT A FOOD STAMP NOTHING and the lights are out due to the landlord....soooo I'm not sympathetic of these people....I struggled and still struggling in MY OWN COUNTRY WITH NO HELP FROM MY COUNTRY....GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM AND FIGURE IT OUT.....

I wonder how much of this could be resolved if we decided to pull back senseless embargoes that aren’t achieving policy objectives. Let Venezuelans and Cubans, for example, rule their nations as they wish and stop punishing them for regimes not politically aligned with the USA. This hits close to home. I'm just about finished my engineering degree in Canada, where I was born and raised and my family has lived for 400 years. Outside of Alberta and Sask, nothing is affordable. And Sask is to barren to live in. I will almost certainly look South for work as this country continues to make itself completely unaffordable. As much as I hate to see it, I don't think i see Canada surviving in its current configuration for any longer than half a century.

I am all for those who want to migrate to our country. However, we need to fix problems at home. How and why is it we are allowing migrants to effortlessly acquire a higher standard of living than the majority of natural born citizens by crossing an imaginary line? I know there are families who risk their lives and work tirelessly to provide something better for them and theirs. As a father of three young children, trust me I get it! However, natural born citizens get whatever’s at the bottom of the barrel compared to the amenities given to immigrants. It needs to stop at least for now.

Instead of criminalising refuge seekers, the gov should use them, set a wage that's lower than the standard, charge for their services at the standard, for a period of time, enough for these ppl to get their footing , use the difference to fund programmes and tackle different aspects of the problem, keep tabs on families and individuals by making ppl register, use them to fix infrastructure and do jobs that otherwise go unfilled, many of these people are skilled and hard workers, they will have a reason to stay within the boundaries of society, the country will have more money circulating, but they situation is being misused, it's an opportunity to get ahead, it's an opportunity to increase natural citizens skills and living conditions, to create other jobs and industries, and to fix the economy, strengthen economic and political ties with the countries these ppl are coming from, and also charge a tax in whatever way can be done to these countries per person they recieve.things like housing, many of these workers can build houses, and that gap between lowered wage and standard wage or tax for entering America illegally, could be used to fund better public housing, etc.

I had ideas of moving out of my parents house and going out to explore the world by myself. Now I can’t do that without having to get engaged first, a plan I had specified *after* getting my own house. \n\nA crazy guy with a family of pet snakes could get his own house back in the day (True story). Canada doesn’t have an economy anymore: it only relies on an outdated 1970s immigration system to keep boosting its population growth by around 1% a year! The immigrants are required to bring in roughly $10k per person which quickly evaporates within the ‘economy’ as most new comers struggle to,find decent jobs in the first 1-2 years of their arrival. So the ponzi scheme continues. Why do new arrivals put up with this? Well especially after Covid, vast majority of new arrivals are from countries where the economic situation is desperate. If you see new immigrants they are dominated (immigrants plus student visas) by one country - a large democratIC country on a large continent - most are effectively desperate economic refugees but the sleepy govt’s in Canada don’t care: let social devices get stretched, no cannot find a decent family doctor in any urban area, rents keep,sky rocketing, yet just let immigrants esp from one former ‘jewel in the crown’ come in unchecked!
