Where are these millions of new immigrants going to work? Since the election of Liberals, Canada has had the slowest growing economy in the industrialized world! The world expects Canada's lacklustre performance to continure for the next 20 years. So are these new immigrants coming with suitcases full of money to invest in new companies? Are the skilled tradesman coming from developed nations with similar building codes and material or from countries that build houses without any codes or inspection? Do the Medical Doctors receive the same education as 1st world doctors or are they like doctors in most developing and 3rd world countries where they enter medical school straight from Grade 11 and graduate 4-5 years later with a medical degree and their medical experience is all with 3rd world diseases? OR what is more likely is that these new immigrants will have to go back to school (paid for by Canadian taxpayers) to bring their education and skills to the minimum level of Canadians? It will take the average new immigrant 6-10 years before they are making a net positive contribution to the Canadian economy. This would be affordable if our economy was outpacing other industrialised nations OR if we had fewer immigrants but this is a strategy for bankruptcy. My prediction is that the Canadian dollar will be $0.60 USD within 5 years or less. My recommendation is start moving your savings and retirement funds to the USA.

And United States we have a huge immigration problem that needs to be dealt with. We take in almost fifty percent of the world's immigrants it's unsustainable. Regardless of your political affiliation. It's just common sense like literally any other country in the world to protect its borders. As a hardworking Canadian, it is very sad and frustrated to see how people just cross the border so easily from the US when my immigrant parents who held bachelors and PHD needed to sacrifice so much to raise me. They had to do labor work in factories. Those people who seek asylum will enjoy so much such as free housing, food and education support. All the services are coming out from the taxpayers like me. I have been taxed so high that I almost cannot afford a place in large cities like Toronto and Vancouver. In my opinion, Canada should restrict the number of people seeking asylum every five years. It should offer less benefits to those people as well.

If it was up to me, I would do a trade. I would swap 1 Guatemalan for 1 of them liberal extremists. The ones that say they hate the U.S. and how we need to pay for all of their colleges. Send them back. I came to canada in 2017 as an international student, paid shit tons of money for housing, tuition fees. Worked full time after graduation,yet my immigration process is taking long. Evey step I took went through proper screening, and yet it's taking forever. Send them back. At this point theres no gurantee for people like me to get permanent residence over here. With all the back logs etc. So why should they be granted status, while my work permit expires in 6 months and immigration officers wont bother to answer my phone calls for extension. I have paid my taxes, I have obeyed the law. I'm a law abiding citizen. At this point, I'm even thinking of going back. This country wants new talents and more people to add to their workforce. But if they treat people like me like this. Then we might as well go back.

There is supposedly an agreement between Canada and the US called the Safe Third Country Agreement which means illegal immigrants are supposed to apply for asylum in the first country they come to. Unfortunately, because of Trump, the Canadian government doesn't trust any US government to give these asylum seekers a fair hearing. Second, this agreement only applies to official border crossings, not unofficial ones like Roxham Road. Trudeau is absolutely right in wanting to renegotiate the Safe Third Country Agreement.

If Canada or the US were to charge a fee for permission to remain the revenue would be astounding! I can't think of one immigrant that would refuse to pay a $500 monthly fee to remain and work freely in either country. It has been suggested many, many times. The amount of revenue generated would exceed that of the tax revenue we currently have in place for common Americans by 2030. Why Republicans don't allow this? Are they asylum seekers or trying to avoid the immigration process,there is a difference. We do not have enough housing for Canadians to live in,shortage of doctors,nurses and ER's in hospitals close down frequently. My dad had to immigrate to Canada first,have a sponsor and a job before my mom and myself and brother could immigrate. In total it took 2 years for him to have enough money to bring us to Canada. So for me this just looks like jumping the que.

Canada is one of the most racist and discrimatory country in the world. I feel the most disturbing recent developments in Canada is the push for MAID aka assisted suicide for the simplest reason like depression or physical disability rather than supporting individuals. Also, children can now get sex changes without parental consent. And yes, having lived in Canada my whole life it is imo a dismal place to live. Freezing winters, hot humid summers, boring and lots of working. Would have preferred my parents had gone to Florida instead when they immigrated from Europe. I should have been brave and moved years ago.
