I thought in Canada people don’t care about racism. Am I wrong?

I light complected Puerto Rican, I blend in with everybody, I was stopped from entering the store because they thought I was going to be a shoplifter. Does criticism of Islam amount to racism? Why is it OK criticize communism, nazism and other supremacist ideologies, but as soon as you attach the word divine to the same ideas, then they're off limit? I am Iranian. I was born in a Muslim family. I have been educated in Islam and experienced Islamic, sharia based rule for most of my life. And I have the same concerns as this man. Islam is a brutal supremacist ideology that is incompatible with critical thought, personal freedoms, democracy, rule of law and pretty much everything else that we take for granted in the modern world, that came out of Western Enlightenment. Once muslims become the majority, they will do the same thing as they have done everywhere else where they've taken control. Look at what they're doing in England and France in Majority Muslim areas. Look around the world today and see what Islam leads to. You will put your head in the sand at your own peril. I left my home in my own beautiful and ancient country. I will not do it again in my new home...

I'm not minimising the racism here but I have been followed and asked to open my backpack, I'm British white but must look like a thief to security . One time the shop was my football club's merchandise shop . I think the management realised the security personnel were over zealous because they didnt last long . It doesn't feel very nice to be thought a thief but to decide who could be a thief because of ethnicity is disgraceful.

I went to canada with my family when i was 6 years old i thought it was so beautiful the native americans treated us with kindness my dad bought me some moccisens there. A chinese immagrant restaurant owner was nice to us the white people many of them wrent very nice this was in 1969 in the summer but i loved the wilderness and wanted to go back and see the indians. I was a dreamer. Unfortenately and through my own fault after i got out of the military honerably discharged . I got a dui again it was my stupidity but i payed my fine did my jail time and got educated about not drinking and driving. It is not a felony i the US but it is in Canada so canada gets ahold of my driving records maybe they hacked in. And said i could not go into canada. I noticed they let george w. Busch in though oh well i dont think canada even pretends fainess under the law . Any way they are now letting elligals into canada and giving them a hotel room . The duplicity is absurd personally i no longer want to go to canada for anything i think the wall should be put on the northern border. When it came to our driving records there is no border does my information belong to a foriegn country? As US citizens do you think your information belongs to a other country?

Arent asylum seekers meant to claim asylum in the first safe country they come to?. So how come this dude lived years illegally in the U.S. without claiming asylum?. I thought it was bad that a year later in Canada, he still isn't speaking English whatsoever, but interviewed in his native tongue. Then I see that he was in the US for 15 freaking years, and didn't bother there either. I see he and his family has no intention of assimilating. How long before we have a little El Salvador, w/ all the crime they supposedly left. People that won't assimilate to us inevitably bring all their country's crap and woes w/ them. Also, this man who can't be bothered to speak our language is getting work in Alberta. Where native Albertans who do speak English are hard pressed for work. Recently I went to hot topic and all\nThe workers where white and me and my friend where the only latinas there and literally the same worker would come up to us asking if we needed help with anything every 10 minutes at LEAST and at first we thought nothing of it until we noticed the OTHER workers started coming up to us frequently, definitely made us uncomfortable ??

I was completely surprised to hear that this happens, continues to happen, especially in Canada. America is a country built on the backs of slaves and racism is rampant. This behavior is disgusting and to see a middle-age Black woman is not even safe is overwhelming. As I reach middle-age I continue to feel the same fears I did as a young woman. As a Mexican American I have faced all types of racism from people of different races, including my own. I lived in Mexico for a while when I was young and would get bullied by kids who knew I was born in the U.S. Teachers also treated me different; some treated me worse than they treated the other kids, and others favored me because I was American. When I moved to Philadelphia I attended a school that was predominantly black and asian. I was the only hispanic in my class. At the time Spanish was my main language and my English was “rusty,” which led to constant bullying from classmates. They would call me “dookie face,” tell me to “go back to my country,” and even had some girls put gum on my hair. I would cry every day. I later on moved to Chicago to an area that was mostly hispanic, and that didn’t stop the bullying, either. After I finally refined my English, I no longer wanted to speak Spanish unless it was to my parents. Yes, I guess the constant bullying pushed me to feel like I had to separate myself from my hispanic heritage. When my hispanic classmates spoke to me in Spanish I only responded in English, which would make them mad and they would think that I thought I was “better than them.” Anyway, that was long ago and now as an adult I can reflect on these things so that I don’t make the same mistakes. I get along with everyone and the only thing that changes how I feel about someone is their character, not their appearance.

When I was in college they had tested people and found that if a woman was a writer they found out that there was a basis against women writers. They thought that women could not write as well as men, which didn't make any sense. What about Agatha Christie? She is considered one of the best women mystery writers of all time. I read her books when I was in my teens and twenties. There were many other women mystery writers, too many too name here. I feel sorry for the people who are on the receiving end of racism. My late husband was Creole. I hope we work past these attitudes some day.

To cover up and put on a bunch of clothes doesn't change your heart. What you need is a change of heart and mind. If you don't have self control . Then your clothes won't do it for you.
