In the 1960s in Canada we could buy a house for 1-3x the average household income despite most women being housewives. Yeah, I've been talking to a Canadian over discord for almost 2 years now trying to learn more about the country and what he told me was shocking. Canadian make about 25% less and pay 33% more in taxes then American and somehow a house in the middle of goddamn nowhere cost as much as a house in Portland. If you live in NYC, SF, or LA yeah you can forget about buying a house but its not like in America housing is unaffordable everywhere like in Canada. In Texas, you can get a big beautiful house for 300k, the catch being that real estate taxes is really high and you still be paying that even after the mortgage been paid off. Florida is affordable but hurricanes, Cleveland is really cheap despite a good reputation, and a house in the rural areas is easily under 100k. Canada pretty much have no houses under 300k which is made worse by the fact that they make less, taxed more, investment is harder + more expensive, and it actually hard to establish credit because they don't have looser standard like in the US.

Canada is basically another state of US at this point. Canada has independent domestic policies just like any US state but foregin policis are Washington lead. Canada has great educational instuation just like many other US state but ultimately, the graduates leave for better states in the US to get better pay. Almost all export of Canada is to US and almost all import are from same US suppliers from Asia. Some will say Canada is very different from US in the way people act and live their life. That is true but even inside US, California is very different from Texas and New York is very different from Iowa. Just goes to show different states have different lifestyle but are still part of the same country.\nThis is not a bad thing, in fact Canada is lucky to have access to the biggest market of the world. Being under US security umberlla means no one will attack you. Canada's government know this so they made policies that lead to integration with US economical and defence system.

And the government is planning to bring the population up to 100 millions by end of century. But where they gonna put them? In fact, the land of Canada is not suitable for human's living because of its weather. All the population are living along US border with Canada. And the rest of Canada is hard land because of snow most of the year. If there is no heat then it is very tough to live here.

After watching this video if you think that what is going on in Canada is not crazy, then take note of the fact that Trudeau government is also making it even harder for gas and oil companies, mineral extraction and even farmers to basically do their job. While Norway, Arab countries and even US are ramping oil and gas production, in Canada Trudeau is concerned more about increasing carbon tax and the rainbow flags. Honestly I'm very disappointed in this country, it's becoming worse and worse here. Prices are through the roof, housing is insanely expensive, even car prices are higher than in USA. Many people have to maintain 2 or even 3 jobs just to survive. And if you are a recent graduate or an immigrant professional, good luck finding a good job. You probably will end up in a minimum wage job that barely allows you to rent a room in someone's basement, pay for your most expensive in the world cell phone plan, expensive cars.... and wait 6 months to go see a medical specialist. If you're thinking of immigrating to Canada, better consider Europe, USA or developed countries in Asia. I was lucky because I bought property back in 2016. Now it appreciated so much that I'll probably sell and move to a different country. Hard times are ahead for Canadians, Canada is gonna become Cuba #2 very soon

The problem with accepting a lot of immigration from countries like Venezuela for example is that all the good people that have some influence flees the country, leaving tyrants to stay in power longer since most of the opposition fled the country. If they want to leave the country because of the elected government they have to stay over there and solve their problem. On top of that I have many friends who came to the U.S. because of the government but go back to their country every year for vacation.
