Why do these refugees take it for granted that Canada is somehow responsible for their well being once they claim to be refugees, Canaca already has a robust refugee benefits for those who are persecuted in their home country. But, to think Canada should welcome them with open arms and open all doors for them to live comfortably they should look at ordinary struggling canadians and lower their expectation.

Americans are in the crapper. Many of us live on the streets. We need to be more like Japan as to border policy, and treat us first. I don’t know why it’s a big deal, many other countries have the same border policy. America isn’t inconsiderate for having them, it’s just the government already doesn’t help us live. They already take our money and force us on streets. If more immigrants came in, none of us would have a home. Economy would skyrocket greatly but in the wrong ways. More crime because I’m sure there are immigrants who really need help, but among them are also the ones who don’t follow laws. Which is why we have legal immigration, to weed out the criminals from people who need salvation.

I mean the reasons listed are already reason enough, but additional reasons:\n\n- our labour laws tend to be superior to the majority of states (seriously, Wisconsin has no workers rights, maternity leave is barely a thing in most states let alone parental leave)\n-social security net in the event of losing a job (during the start of the pandemic, even though we did have to suddenly change the system, the fact that we already had a safety net to begin with was a huge relief to many)\n- the racism, while still obviously present, is significantly lower (experienced more racism in Edmonton than I do in a tiny town in rural Quebec). This before even beginning to consider how the police forces in the USA would be more likely to target someone like me whether I am guilty or not (have personally had nothing but good experiences with the police anywhere I have lived personally).\n\nThe only things that have ever tempted me in particular have been the lower housing costs, but… that’s clearly only the immediate monetary cost, and for me has never even come close to making up for the other significantly more important things that I would have to deal with / be concerned over.

As such, wait times are exorbitant.\nThere is a two tier system. I had opportunities in the past to move to the US but I did not go for them, I think sometimes due to simple inertia. If I had another chance now, I would definitely turn it down. The country south of here is facing dark times. Political polarization started decades ago already with the Tea Party, but now it reached a point when there are forces that have shaken the very trust in the most fundamental aspects of America, the ideas and institutions it was built on and which are still strong and valid. For centuries America was the beacon for freedom and equal rights. Now a large portion of the population is being made believe that the country became deeply corrupt and only a strong man can make things right. As long as people keep their heads in the sand , don't look around and allow things to develop in this dangerous direction (on top of the gun culture, health care, etc), the future of the US looks pretty bleak.

I like visiting the U.S. on occasion. There are some very nice state parks and natural wonders. I like that both our countries all drive on the same side of the road. I like that we all speak English. So it's easy to get around. People in the U.S. are generally very nice if you stay away from densely populated places. But playing roulette on the healthcare is already enough to dissuade me. Then there is the (lack of) gun control. I am adventurous. I do love to travel. But I never want to give up my glorious Canadian lifestyle. Even with its flaws, I am not convinced anywhere else is better.

My nearest hospital has a air ambulance helicopter. In America a Regular ambulance can cost you up to 5k and An air ambulance in the USA can go upto $36,000.\n\nin Ontario i'd pay NOTHING for a regular ambulance and 45 Dollars for the helicopter You're not even in the hospital And we're already talking stupid amounts of money

Health Care was already abysmal with waitlists over a year for certain procedures, but in the last 3 years it fell apart even further. Crime is on the rise everywhere and government just releases everyone regardless of public risk (read into Saskatchewan mass shooting from last year).\n\nI am set to make $20,000 more in salary, without even taking exchange rate into account, and that is going from Vancouver which has among the highest salary average in Canada to a small American country side town.

There is no economy for accepting more asylum seekers. The system is already drained with Ukraine,Afghan, and other refugees. Trudeau government needs to rethink their strategy to why this helps us. \nInterest rates and inflation are to help offset the war in Ukraine. That needs to be compared to another Afghanistan. Never lived in the US but have visited a lot. I do have family in Washington state and I really enjoy visiting that part of the country. I didn't like New York and California only because of the sheer amount of people. Way too many people for my liking. Walking down the streets I felt like I was being shoulder checked with every step. In some smaller areas, absolutely loved the people and communities. Very friendly, and I find Americans to be very patriotic which I absolutely love! Health care and gun violence would be enough to keep me away though. Now in 2023, I find America becoming political polarized. Just watching the news is enough to raise my blood pressure (which I don't even have). If I got a chance to leave the snow behind, I think I would choose overseas on a island somewhere. Also at the age where I want peace and quiet. Raised kids already so more on the downlow and quite beach life. Thanks for your videos Tyler you are definitely one of my favorite Americans. I am autistic, and the fact that autistic peoples are treated as inferiors in the US and not well help, oh hell NO. Even if in Canada this is not perfect, at least I was able to be respected by the most of them and not treated as a joke. Even if people don't realise I am autistic most of the times, my youngers years will be even more a nightmare that it was here.
