Very nice conversation. Canada has opportunities for those who are capable to grab it. I was in real estate developments for 6 years during 2011-2018 started with $80k down payment. Until I build my 4000sqft home in Bluffs area in Toronto built few houses. It was a stressful time for many incidents. Dealing with City, contractors, finances is very delicate. All it needed patience and hard working to overcome the every challenges. When I ended up the trade after building my house during the pandamic using all the gains around $1.6m from the houses that I have built and sold. I realized I made $4m which is worth my mortgage free house. So, it is a journey from $80k to $4m in 8 years.. I witnessed many immigrants from South Asia got involved in the real estate construction and many has made few million dollars..\n\nTherefore, I would say to the new generation. Do not give up your hope but make sure you work hard and look for opportunities though it has become hard during these days..

Aside from what was said (making more money), other reasons why many immigrants would fight tooth and nail to get U.S. citizenship are the fact that the U.S. has a bigger and wealthier population, which translates to American companies getting more investment money. And in turn, are alot more willing to invest more of that money into their employers. Other underlying reasons include an overall warmer climate, rich pay less taxes, and the fact that an immigrant finally obtaining U.S. citizenship is considered a status symbol. \n\nAnd there are other reasons why Canada government is far more immigrant friendly. The government wants to increase their country's population to at least 100 million, and that isn't possible with Canada being one of the numerous countries experiencing a decline in baby's being born. And the new immigrants are to hopefully prevent the time in the future when Canada has too many old people, but not enough caretakers and young people to tax.

If they start giving these people benefits I’m gonna be so pissed off. Born and raised in the U.S. and if I can’t get housing and an alien can then there really is no hope for this country. This is why I'm very adamant on my dreams to work in the US. I'm a US citizen because I was born there when my dad went to school for his doctorate degree. I feel very lucky to have that, and that is why I have a dream to live and work there. I know applying for a residence and work permit is a very difficult process to do. I would feel very stupid not to take this chance to live and work in the US.\nAfter a few setbacks of me not being able to go to college there (my parents wouldn't let me because they're not sure of letting me living alone there even though we have a relative there), my parents finally let me go there for work. I just now finished my masters degree, I hope I can make it there as well.

Im an immigrant here in Canada for 12 years now, but me and my family are happy and we have saved money for the future im so sad it doesn't work for you. Everyone has different experiences, I love my tropical country but I feel safer and contented in Canada anyway im living and working in Edmonton as a red seal welder and grateful for this country for paying me 65 dollars an hour which very impossible to get if im living in my country. the way you paint Canada at the end is very untrue - refugees are treated horribly here. when we took in the people from Syria they were put in homeless shelters and weren't given food or proper clothing (it was winter and -30c out). as of typing this there are camps/tents set up in the streets of downtown toronto for refugees we just brought in that have no where to go. we brought them here in a hopes of a better life and made them apart of the ever growing homeless population. we also just deported over 700 Indian students who came to Canada under fraudulent circumstances. maybe if you are rich life is different (thats really all you cover) but if you are an International student or a refugee this is not the place to be - we take in so many International students because they have to pay 3x to 4x more than someone born here. do more research into your videos please this and the other comment i left are all breaking or top stories in canada not hard to learn and could of added so much to this topic instead of painting canada in a near utopian image

Maybe it's just because of the news, but really, the school shootings are TOP of mind for me. Like, how is that even possible, to have that many crazy people who want to murder children, and not only that, but those crazy people have access to guns? \nI don't say anything to my American cousins, as I realize that they have ties, they've married Americans, they've built a life, and there's no sense me freaking out about things that they won't change, and insulting their choices.\nBut... I was SHOCKED that even after they started having children, they still didn't move back to Canada. They can do it, they have dual citizenship! \n???\nIt's like sending your kids to school on a boat in a river full of crocodiles. It's not guaranteed that nothing bad will happen to them, and it's hard to let them go, but you trust and pray and hope for the best.\nAnd then you see your cousin's kids sailing down that same river sitting on a log with their feet dangling into the water! It's horrifying, even if they assure you that usually the crocs don't come to this side of the river, and mostly they're not hungry in the morning anyway. It seems like reckless disregard. Former H1-B here now living in Canada as a citizen. After Obama failed to fix the U.S. immigration system, I lost hope it would ever get fixed.

As an immigrant to the US, you summed up the issue very nicely. Another thing I noticed is that people who cannot get an h1b visa sometimes would go to Canada, get a Canadian passport to secure an insurance, and then come look for a job on TN visa or EB1 visa in the US. As an immigrant who comes to the US on a EB3 visa, I really hope that the US can prioritize employment based visas instead of family based or even illegals immigrants for the future of the country. One thing that makes a lotta EB immigrants scratch our heads is that why would the US government put all their efforts in taking in illegal immigrants and grant them a safe path to citizenship instead of taking care of the ones coming in legally first. Not to say the other group isn’t important, but it’s a weird way to prioritize things.

One thing I would like to note is that Canada is not welcoming in only highly skilled workers. If you can work at a Tim Horton's you qualify. This has lead to a flood of new workers who HAVE to have a job in order to stay at a time where the existing labour pool is refusing work due to pay lagging far behind inflation for two decades. Those salaries discrepancies you listed are not exclusive to the tech sector, they are economy wide. Often you'll here talk of a labour shortage in Canada, but ask for the number of applicants to jobs and you quickly find out the reason no one accepted is because the full-time job offered requires a part-time job to barely make ends meet. \n\nAnother factor is that housing happens to be the bread and butter of ~40% of our MP's. Hell our Minister of Housing himself owns properties that have appreciated massively due to the lack of supply and high demand. He then goes on national TV and says high immigration will solve the housing crisis despite Canada already having over 4% of our entire labour force already in the construction industries (America is a little over 3%) and the men and women who build our houses being unable to afford the homes they build ($22.07/hr CAD average or ~$16.66 USD. compared to $22.29/hr USD). 14% of our national GDP is housing. 14% of our entire economy is just money changing hands internally with nothing of value made. \n\nThen you have the combo of landlords benefiting from the immigration programs who try and evict the tenants on their properties to replace them with immigrant labour. They then take the cost of rent right out of their salaries. The workers can't quit their jobs because if they don't have a job they are at risk of being deported and also loosing their homes so they end up shacking 8 to an apartment to try and make ends meet. This becomes the standard the rest of the economy has to meet. \n\nIt is a rare sight to see someone who is anti-immigrant in Canada, but the majority of people here understand that immigration is a problem the way it is currently run. You have people who come here hoping for a new life being forced to sleep outside under bridges because while they may have a job they don't have a home and the shelters are already 200% capacity. Tent cities are the norm in any major urban centre now. There are crack dens in Toronto that are the same price as Castles in the UK. And this problem is only going to get worse.

Why train Canadians when you can import American immigration rejects. Lol... I hope you're enjoying it Canada.
