What many don't know and wasn't reported in this video, is that Ukraine doesn't want too many people leaving to Canada. There is a fear that if people settle in Canada, they will stay and not return and help in he rebuilding of Ukraine. Accepting Refugees on mass is a huge undertaking, it is not as simple as opening the doors and letting people in. Where are the people to go, someone has to support them and that all requires huge amounts of coordination. Last I saw, Canada had a housing crisis where it has been difficult for Canadians to find affordable housing... how are Refugees supposed to do better?? It is easy to open the doors, it is a lot harder to get them settled.... but we have to try and try hard to make it work.

It’s not just Vancouver…. I know how is Great Montreal (where I live) and Toronto (where a worked). Definitely every city and province is different each other but basically a lot of people have same feelings about living in Canada.

My two applications for PR have been rejected. As it turned out later during federal court hearing, it was by a mistake at the IRCC's side. I had to study and work in Canada for 12 years before becoming a Canadian. It is so frustrating to know some people just get their status illegally. Or even legally - some get their PR as a gift from the government even before coming to Canada.

All Canada not only Vancouver it’s very isolated.\nPeople can’t afford to buy a house because the house marketing is 3 times the price compared to USA. The houses have shitty materials compared to my original country, and you simply can’t built by your own and that’s why every price rises.\nAnother issue you didn’t mention it’s there is no scholarships, it’s incredible expensive to get a proper education like university, and even so, they no offered scholarships. In Mexico almost everyone can reach the opportunity to study to be anything (lawyers, doctors) AND there is why you can get professional services everywhere. Here in Canada the business never have profesional services (like a real Human Resources, who studies for 5 years to be the best influence in a company, or a real engineering taking care of the machines in a plant. Canada only hire the cheap hand to avoid paying and I can understand it, but if more people could study more money moves in the country.\nAnother issue is there is not any public transportation into the cities or provinces, so if you don’t have a car, a driver license (it’s not easy to get one) and pay the super expensive insurance (it’s incredible 10 times more expensive than in Mexico) your can’t move from the place you are. Because of the weather you simply can’t move in a bike.\nPeople live just for pay rent, buy some groceries and buy some pre owned cloths in the thrift store.\nAnother problem it’s many rules to open a small bussines (like selling some food) \nHealth care it’s not exactly free: you need to pay for your prescriptions out of the hospital or if you never been hospitalized. And it’s very expensive to pay for them. I am a Registered Nurse in the Philippines, then migrated in Canada in 2014, and become Canadian Citizen in 2020. I tried to be a Nurse in Canada, but it was extremely difficult.. Fastforward, I got to enrol in a bridging program for International Nurses in 2020 in Ontario and I was so happy! When I was about to start the program, COVId hit and they cancelled the school.. Not knowing if I could secure a seat in the program (the usual waiting time for the seat is 3-5years!) I decided to just moved to US and work as an RN.. But I really miss Canada, planning to live near the border, but the rentals are 3-4x expensive compare to US! Canada is becoming more and more expensive too.. ?

I know of a few taxi drivers that have law degrees or a PhD in the way they get treated is astounding the young need to be educated not just the Young the ignorant people say they're taking our jobs they're taking our jobs because they're work ethic is 100 times better in some cases in most cases people that are from a country that has benefited them wouldn't know damn thing about a hard life. I have experienced or found amount of trauma in my life in and out of foster homes the day I was born adopted at age 9 back in foster care , addicted to opiates I thought life couldn't get any worse I am now 6 years clean from opiates I find myself among the luckiest women or person on this Earth. Honestly, I don’t know how to describe and definite my experience. I came to Canada for my university education by the end of 2013 after I finished my high school in my hometown. That was my first time to go abroad, and living in a totally strange country all alone. New surroundings. New friends. New culture. English speaking. Everything is new for me, and I cannot figure out how I feel at that time, because it’s so complex. Both excited and afraid. In the next few years, I traveled among several different cities. Winnipeg. Vancouver. Toronto. I met many people and experienced lots of things. Some were good and warm, and some were not, and the worst thing was I found I cannot get used to my life in Canada. I don’t mean bad, but I still feel I’m an outsider. I cannot get in. Neither my life nor my schoolwork. So much loneliness. I left Canada and go back to my hometown by the August of 2017. There was nothing strange for me at first 2 years. Everything looks normal, but by the flying of time, I found myself cannot stop missing the old days and experience in Canada. Even the worst part looks so beautiful. I have no idea how could that happened.

I was one of those immigrants who decided to move back to my home country. I lived in Canada for a year so I survived Winter and Summer in Toronto during 2020. I had so many situations against me to stay in Canada and I also had a void in my soul that didn't let me make the decision to definitely stay. I also couldn't put up with the pressure of my acquaintances so determined to stay forever, even though my plan at first wasn't to stay, I still feel guilty for haven't done a little more effort to stay but no regrets. I am thankful for my Canadian experience and I know that it will be helpful in the future if I decide to go back to Canada.

I am a doctor who used to live in canada , i had no problem with the medical exams for licensing as its an important way to prove the competency in such a critical field, i passed all of the exams , however its very very difficult to get into the system and after years in canada i still don’t know what else needed from us to get into the system lol

I have been reading the posts and almost all are saying life is lonely, here in US or Canada or Eu. So why do you want to come. You can happily stay in your country and enjoy your culture or whatever. It looks like the season that you're filming is winter and its going to be very cold in most places, so most of them stay back in their houses. Everything is available along with all kinds of foods in these countries. May be you dont know how to cook any kind of food and you might have been used to somebody cooking for you. If you feel stressed then meditate or do yoga or take a long walk on these beautiful and clean roads that are not found in many countries.. OR Stay back and dont come to USA/Canada/EU, unnecessarily leaving all that goodness in your countries.

I am from Pakistan. Studied and lived in USA for over 10 years. Don't know where my time has gone so fast. Life is very busy in usa (I lived in Chicago, Denver, Orange County, CA and LA. People have to work two jobs to ends meet. Most people have to share housing...that really sucks. Constant expense (rent or mortgage payments are so high people have to constantly work. Whatever time people get they run chores and stay home and chill. You see ultra rich or people on welfare having fun at the beach. I have had a very close friend from pakistan came to usa same time as I did. we both never had enough time to meet up on regular basis. even when we met we had so many things in back of our minds running. I had couple of girlfriends (of course at different times) but they had other boyfriends at the same time. And number one thing they had on their mind is was get money from you. What you wear and drive is what you are. People consider you obsolete if you wear non branded shoes or older models of branded shoes. I traveled extensively in the US and Canada. But in East Europe like Romania and Poland I found people very friendly. Now I am back in pakistan facing basic problems like traffic jams, noisy honking streets and so on but for some reason i feel worriless and relax. whenever i go out, people start to talk to you and you feel like home. everyone is super friendly and is available for help. however you cant really trust people with money though. hahahha. After living in USA for so long I do really miss many things about it though. the efficient system is definitely a big plus. and i have realized that some times i like being all alone for extensive period of times. but knowing that i can meet up anyone any time gives me peace of mind. i have realized hard way that man made martials can amuse you to some extent only. you need live beings are you.
