The lack of empathy in this chat is so toxic, and really makes me sad about “The American Way”. Why is it freedom and our duty to save people in other countries when it comes to participating in a war, but when the mothers and children come knocking at our door. Crying in need, we easily dissociate. Where’s the savior complex we had in all the other wars in other countries? We reap what we sow. Remember these people and their situation, because I really think we might be in the same boat some day.

My father moved to Canada as a five-year-old shortly after WW2… shortly after that, when he was 12, he moved to the US with my grandparents to make more $$.. shortly after that, Vietnam broke out and believe it or not people in the country on work visas, children got drafted…so my father went to beautiful British Columbia where I was born.. and thank God my dad disobeyed American orders or I wouldn’t exist…☝????

The beginning of the end. These people need sanctuary, safety, help. America wastes billions on stupidity. \nWhile people are crying to have a better life all of us sit and watch the kardashians like idiots and Hollywood to make them richer. We need to change now.

Secure the borders we are already super crowded most of these people don’t want to work and most of them are not from Mexico ?? . Make América great again. These people are expecting free checks every week they are not coming to work hard believe me when I say this.

It’s really sad that people see no future or safety where they are at. They’re willing to flee on foot with children and little else to walk hundreds of miles just to hopefully make their kids lives better. There has got to be a better way to help these people. I don’t know the answers but I also don’t get paid to know them. As someone who has sympathy for my brothers and sisters no matter where they were born this just hurts my heart.

People can't find housing??? Programs are out there for those who had foreclosure on them because of Trump's unyielding to constantly tax those not making six digits. Also our country lost over one million innocent men,women, children and infants because Trump REFUSED to acknowledge COVID. Care to speculate how many of them were republicans thinking how could I of believed him??? One father stated after burying his wife who died from it said this. We believed him then my wife of fifty years contracted it and died quickly and our kids who like us who believed him were told had this been taken seriously in the beginning it would of never become this severe. They became democrats.

There are THOUSANDS upon thousands of empty apartments houses and buildings! \n\nALL EMPTY. ALL BELONGING TO THE WEALTHY. It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.

Send the liberals to their countries so they can fight actual fascism and make those countries a eutopia for them. But no, liberals rather stay here and destroy this country and make it into one of those hellholes these people are fleeing from.

Man, I really do love everyone who is currently in office for our government at the moment. I just love letting any & everyone into our country, not to mention the cost of groceries & gas is amazing too! I absolutely love paying almost $7.00 just for a gallon of milk. It also just makes me think about such better times that were...... I don't know, like three fucking years ago! When the average American could afford to buy groceries & gas, and any other essential as needed. \n\nNow we will find housing for all of the people illegally entering our country, while we have more than enough Veterans sleeping on the street, & not to mention that 22 Veterans a day kill them selves on average. Yeah so someone about 5 years ago tried to put up a wall… He was called raciest and a bigot.. The problems that are happening now followed. America was cranking people were making more then ever, then democrats made a plea of stop working, coronavirus is bad get the shot. My parents came to this country in the 70s from a small country in SAmerica. they brought me 3 years later and my handicap brother 2 years later. The USA embassy made my parents sign a paper stating that my brother will not used any government assistance ( he had polio when he was little so he has to walk with scratches) and that's what my parents did until my brother got a job. He worked for 40 years in the same job until he retired 6 years ago. With the exception of the mass rehab center for job training, my brother never used government assistance. \nI remember my mother and I we used to wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning to shovel the snow from the driveway so it would be safe for him to walk to his car to go to work at 5 am. I am very proud of my brother. \nSome people think that receiving government assistance is smart, but we think is not bc it makes you a dependent, you loose your sovereignty as an individual. And these people don't realize that. Personally I think these people are getting paid to do this bc this is not normal. \nIn the other hand, the USA government in the quest to protect its interests ( mainly the corporate interests) support candidates that will go along with what the US says. \nI would like to point out that in this country, there's plenty of corruption, do u do anything about it? ! Jan 6 is the only time that I see it happening ( for me, Jan 6 will forever be a very important holiday)

I think the powerful countries should make plan and attack all dictatorship countries and take the leaders down and let people take the power and choose their own leaders and give them few years to pay the cost.

As a 21 year old who's lived in the UK for a year I miss how down to earth and genuine people are. Of course it's a generalization but when you find decent people this tends to be true. They're more open and not bothered by long conversations which I feel like is impossible to have with people my own age here in Toronto and this makes me feel very depressed and isolated. My European friends and I used to go for walks together and you easily lose track of time together, next thing you know you've been walking and chatting for 3 hours ?.

They are cause the rest of us to suffer greatly on our needs of living ...they are hurting thiere kids ...doing this by getting caught and putting them on the streets .and going days with out eating !! And having appropriate place to sleep. We as American s. Will suffer greatly as right now our in what you call recession...and still struggling to get on our feet. The president needs to set in stone that they need to go back to thiere home country and start asking for help on the needs of living servival. It's the president here ... In United States that needs to put into action that they need to make sure this will not happy any more. Kids and pet are dying and suffering.greatly ... please do so that will stop them from doing this !!! And get them help in thiere home country. So they don't have to leave and come to the United States. Please president \n.. We the people...are asking you to please stop them from coming down here..! Who can afford to live in them because anyone living here CANNOT. Average rent for a Average house is 3500.00 per month plus water, gas, and hydro. To buy they want 20% down and Average price is 1million for a starter home. \nWorld wide we have a MAJOR issue we ALL have to get rid of the evilness with in and make the world rigorous and good again. They are subtle about it but they will make sure to push right wing narratives like this now - they'll show clips like this which push people into right wing narratives(like saying we need much stronger border control) without any context, exactly as this clip does.\n\n\nThat's not to say immigration isn't, perhaps, a problem - I'm not fully educated on the subject but i will tell you they do a huge number of the jobs Americans essentially refuse to do, like picking fruit for 11 hours a day in the heat and cold. Furthermore, large business owners profit immensely off these people, and a majority of large business owners are Republicans - sure they'll go along with the party line that immigration bad, but they hire these people by the truckload and pay them shit wages, actively and purposely depreciating the wages of American citizens while simultaneously blaming it on nebulous Democrat immigration policies.

The worst part about illegally immigrating here to the U.S., is without U.S. Citizenship, these people will not find good jobs, that's why illegal immigrants make up such a big portion of America's homeless population, they can't provide for themselves or their families.

The lack of empathy here is staggering. Imagine if you lived every day not knowing where your next meal is coming from, surrounded by cartel violence, corruption, poverty, and war. Most of these people just want to find a better life. America used to be the land of opportunity where people can come from nothing and make a life for themselves. It’s a shame that Americans have become so greedy and selfish.

All these people need to reorganize and put effort into making their own country better and taking it back

As an immigrant from Europe who came to the US legally, I'm very appalled that people have such low moral values that even when they're told no, they still come here illegally. I moved here because I like traveling, I come from a former communist country. However my country wasn't always safe, we had to fight for decades to make it safe. None of these immigrants care enough about their countires to make it safe for future generations, instead they leave. Remember, you're not an asylum seeker. An asylum seeker goes to the nearest country that's safer, the US and Canada are usually not that close.

We need to kick all the illegal immigrants in the country out if they don’t wanna come here the right way and they can’t be here it’s not fair to the rest of the world. Did they get to sneak in and then we make other people that don’t share a border with us come here legally.

Love these people. I spent a lot of time living on or near the border, I really think the US would benefit from these people coming into the country. (Most of them, maybe not all of them). We just need to do it the right way, and make it a bit easier to do it the right way.
