The problem with Canada's economy is that it is an immigration/housing construction ponzi scheme where infrastructure never catches up and quality of life per capita declines.

Canada is becoming a third-world shithole, expensive to live here, finding a doctor is a long wait and terrible weather 6 months of the year! Trudeau's government has now passed the censorship-11 bill which means all information comes through government bribed news outlets! Canada's best days are over

Friend, I hope you haven’t left. I think you’re making a terrible mistake. I’ve lived in Calgary for 29 years. Our stats people are tricky. You will not find a house in Calgary for under $600k. Unless you plan to live in a very impoverished, run-down, and dangerous area. In a “good” suburb, not great, you’re looking at $686K - $749K. Most are now selling between $812K - $1M. I’m sorry my friend, those stats are a mirage. They blend in cheap apartments in Edmonton into those stats. For petroleum engineering, congrats for finishing those studies, but it’s been a long-standing political battle in Canada; Albert vs. Ontario on this issue. The current liberal government is openly trying to destroy the industry you’re in and you will struggle immensely to find work.

Part of the reason why US companies take more risks than Canada is that if theyre big enough theyre smart and integrate across the country, getting governments to bail them out in financial crises. The Canadian government just doesnt have the cash flow to match the mighty US economy.

I have a lot of family and Alberta, as well as some in Vancouver and Toronto. Growing up, I always idealized Canada and wanted to move there so bad, despite the fact that I had 1st hand experience with Canadians who often told me the negatives.I tried to move to Vancouver twice, decided It didn't make economical sense for me. Once covid happened, it really made me thankful that I never made a permanent move to Canada. I also have to remember that most of the time I've spent in Canada was during the summer, and I have to remind myself the weather is only that nice for a short amount of time, most of the year you're buried under snow (or rain if you're in Vancouver).

What's happened to canada is what is happening to all countries with woke leadership. We have made wedge issues a priority despite the fact they don't tangibly matter. Resources go into absolute nothing of value. We declared a climate emergency despite being less than 1% of global emissions. This has caused us to literally turn down lucrative LNG contracts that would have reduced the emissions of coal burning nations by 50%. It has made us insane. We sold all our gold and are printing money while expecting the entire middle class to bear the burden of this money printing. Billions have to Ukraine and nobody even knows why.

This was quite informative and you guys are definitely intelligent. I am definitely concerned about having more liberals in Canada. In my opinion Liberals are the Antichrist

When I graduated in 2014 Canada seemed so full of potential. Rent was super affordable, food cheep and gas was ok. By 2022 Trudeau has single handedly destroyed the Canadian dream thought imported build back better policy’s. If you told me a 1 bedroom in Kingston would be about 1500$+ utilities and milk 8.99$ I wouldn’t believe you in 2014. But it’s real.

Long story short living in Canada sucks. If you ain’t rich you are scrapping for change.

But Canada is a better place to live so ...

This is so relatable. I was earning 60k CAD in Vancouver, living in an one bedroom condo and had no investment. Then I moved to Seattle (3 hours from Vancouver), now making 170k USD, owning two real-estate properties. I don't want to move back to Canada anymore, because the life there is very expensive, why do I pay so much tax and still can not have a decent life?

Canada did well during the 2008 financial recession because they didn't have Trudeau and Freeland running the circus.

The US-Canada wage gap hits hard. Americans are becoming meaningfully wealthier than us on a per capita basis, all while their housing prices are significantly lower. We're not that far away from the average American making 50% more than the average Canadian. We're getting poorer and it's like no one is talking about it.

Canada economy if built for the 1970 or 80’s

Let's talk about homelessness and house price in Canada. We see tent cities emerging in Vancouver and Toronto, millennials still living with their parents, the us wins more points in regards of housing price, but noth receive zero points in regards of tackling homelessness

It's time Canada rethink it's trade relationship.

Housing speculation is one of the greatest misallocations of capital ever in Canada. People are being rewarded as their home prices increase while literally contributing nothing to the economy. What product was made? What innovation or increase in quality of life was there? Landlords and employers are exploiting immigrants for rent and cheap labor. The government is happy to go along with record immigration as long as tax revenue is increasing.

THE USA AND CANADA SHOULD BE 1 COUNTRY IT BENEFITS BOTH PARTIES
|
| 2023-04-24 | 0 |
Reg patents @ 6.12, USA filed almost 17X number of applications than Canada according to 2021 WIPO data. Also China filed 3X that of USA. Patents per person may not be a great parameter for measuring innovation. It's the nurturing of intelligent minds, innovation platform, and focussed Gov support that matter. Also, the invention aspects of individual patents matter more than mere numbers of incremental innovations.

Corporate America turns a blind eye to this because they want cheap labor. That’s why you’ll never see the immigration issue resolved until there’s full blown violence. The same thing is happening across the developed world. In a country like Canada, where the labor pool is coming from India, the social programs would fail if not for the taxes and fees collected from these migrant low wage earners. But it’s fuelling the housing crisis and other social problems. Complex business folks.

Meh, vanilla analysis that circles around important points but fails to make inightful critiques:\n\nA. “Canadian productivity lags . . . the economy is less productive and innovate than America’s . . . less competitive . . . less capital . . .”, and then finally “banks are prudent, well regulated, and untroubled by excessive competition”!!! Yep, just put it together: Canadian banks (and government policies) have comfortably sedated the economy and populace.\n\nB. 00:09:00 “The fact is, Canada’s dependence on natural resources for economic growth has discouraged investment in other sectors”. Total rubbish! Canada discourages investment generally. Success in natural resources - despite government policy and cultural biases AGAINST them - does not hinder economic development elsewhere. The banks, governments, and degenerate academics in Canada do such a good job screwing everything over that the ambitious leave, thus, as the video observed, the “brain drain” south. You know what’s ONLY thing that cannot leave Canada for the USA? Natural resources!! That’s why natural resource companies endure in Canada, because they have no choice.

They are bloody Economic Migrants. They want Canada's Welfare system. It's the same here in Australia, as soon as they get approved they go back to where they are from and start to organise there relatives.

Something is not adding up. People are coming to America, yet others are leaving? I always thought Canada was a great place to raise children. And they really care about their people. In America you are like cattle. The only difference is , is that you don’t walk around with a noticeable tag on your ear, our SS is our tag.

My heart goes out to those in actual need of protection. With that being said this is a country under huge problems of our own, we have homeless Americans, borders are borders for a reason and we wouldnt be able to do that to mexico or Canada so they should respect our borders too. So when they get rounded up and thrown in camps thats the consequence. ?♂️?♂️

It seems like you have no real idea of what Canada is like as there are three seasons and the summer is very hot in many areas. The reason more why there is not much population up north in many places is geography as it is very rugged. Like the majority of the Western USA being desert, mountains and scrub. There is also still lots of land around the populated areas and there are 40 million people living there.

You can not find the jobs in Canada. Discrimination is more in Canada as compare to U.S. employers discriminate more and it is subtle and Canadians discriminate very politely.
