Trump fails to understand how many cheap good the United States imports across the Mexican border on a daily basis\nI know of two companies in my area that have manufacturing plants in Mexico because of the cheap labor\nIs Trump going to carve out an exception for American companies making cheap goods in Mexico? China? Etc?

I can’t understand why people in America can’t see that Trump is in the political game to meet his own needs and agenda!! In short he is the biggest and now the most untrustworthy criminal in the WORLD!!! He is going to destroy America and everything America stands for and he will do it with no considerations for the population!!! Why is one man, and a man with severe mental problems able to upend the total legal fraternity of a country and not be held accountable!!! The existing government can clearly see the dangers of this incoming administration but sit idly by and allow this corruption to manifest! Biden has the ability and powers of the presidency to stop Trump in his tracks, Why isn’t he? What is Biden afraid of? Trump is one man or is it the behind the scenes organisations that have installed trump and bought the presidency for him to serve their own agendas . With a total moron like Trump at the helm there are foreign adversaries that are going to complete the destruction of American institutions in a way that is going to severely damage Americas standing in the world!! The people that voted this evil man into office have no idea what hardships they are going to endure for the foreseeable future because a man like Trump doesn’t spend a minute of his day considering what’s best for someone else only his own interests!

All I’ve been hearing about the Trump tariffs are how bad they are for America and American citizens and how were the ones who will be paying those tariffs. If that’s the truth, why is the Mexican president so upset about them?

Since Donald Trump has become the president elect, I have seen so many Hispanic Americans that were once themselves “illegal immigrants” make the statement that they would have no issues with family members and friends who are currently illegal, be deported?! If Trump is serious, he'll crash the economy. Deporting useful people is a HUGE drain on the economy. We'll have to work overtime just to maintain the SAME quality of life. It feels so foolish to keep trying bandaid solutions that harm the US labor pool. There's a couple of things I keep thinking about in regards to this. \n\n1. Most developed countries on earth are in the midst of or are preparing to deal with population crisis and depopulation. Strong immigration to the US stems this issue and is actually a huge advantage to the power and continuing visibility of the USA.\n\n2. Deportation and border control strike at the effect of immigration and leave the cause unharmed. People come to the USA because there's opportunities here, so why not make opportunities abroad?\n\nIf the USA were to remove benefits of dealing with china while offering massive incentives for moving manufacturing away from china directly to Latin America, not only would we be countering our Chinese dependency but we would also provide jobs at home and stem immigration. Not only that, but the businesses would be American and be controlled by Americans - a huge incentive to stay friendly to the USA.\n\nI don't know, just seems like our current policy and especially what Trump is suggesting are counter productive and stuck in a bygone way of thinking.

Our military today is a high-technology force with career professional officers and enlisted personnel. The U.S. military exists to defend the country in war or prepare for war against foreign threats. Trump could quickly hollow out the military as career experts leave. The military does not exist for civilian police functions. It is illegal and unconstitutional for the U.S. military to arrest civilians or enforce immigration laws. The American military is apolitical. No one swears an oath to any political leader but only to our Constitution. Mass deportations of undocumented people living in the United States won't be done with the help of the Army, National Guard, or other military services. The U.S. military does not have to follow illegal or unconstitutional orders. Military officers do not want to engage in civilian police functions or enforce immigration laws. Trump firing military officers would hollow out the military, likely destroying our readiness to fight future wars.

As an American we are very relieved, here in NYC about 500,000-750,000 people are here illegally (that we know about) and they take jobs, resources, and money from actual citizens. For example they cut our schools budget to fund hotel rooms for these people. Gave them debit cards, free phones, and a whole lot more. I hope Trump does it and removes all of them, for America's sake. I say this as a 25 year old former democrat. Mass migration is a detriment to any society. Not to mention the crime and resource problems that come with it.

I don’t support trump at all but I think immigration is an issue here (obviously not with people eating cats literally fake) for American citizens and what our taxes go to. Even if illegal immigrants are removed, there needs to be better humane improvements for those who want to come in the right way.

The plan is not controversial. Trump won with an outstanding mandate. American voters want to end to government inspired and funded illegal immigration. The progressive deep state weasels want to disrupt and overturn Republican voting strongholds.

I am definitely ok on cracking down illegal immigration and there should be criminal charges for employers that employ these migrant workers with slave wages. However with that being said to deport almost 20 million people that make up more than 50% agricultural workers in the country is a logistical nightmare. Once these migrants go these jobs will need to be filled presumably by Americans that command higher wages. I mean if Trump said he wanted to bring cost of groceries down this might not turn into a good plan.

Every major US city is struggling to budget for illegal immigrants. This is why trump has done so well in cities, poorer Americans find themselves in direct competition with illegal immigrants for government resources. If you looked at figures like the number of encounters at the southern border and the amount spent on illegal immigrants this would make it obvious why Americans are upset. Instead you just paint poor Americans as xenophobic and don't even give that view a fair representation. Classic elitist bias.
