When I graduated in 2014 Canada seemed so full of potential. Rent was super affordable, food cheep and gas was ok. By 2022 Trudeau has single handedly destroyed the Canadian dream thought imported build back better policy’s. If you told me a 1 bedroom in Kingston would be about 1500$+ utilities and milk 8.99$ I wouldn’t believe you in 2014. But it’s real.

Long story short living in Canada sucks. If you ain’t rich you are scrapping for change.

But Canada is a better place to live so ...

This is so relatable. I was earning 60k CAD in Vancouver, living in an one bedroom condo and had no investment. Then I moved to Seattle (3 hours from Vancouver), now making 170k USD, owning two real-estate properties. I don't want to move back to Canada anymore, because the life there is very expensive, why do I pay so much tax and still can not have a decent life?

Canada did well during the 2008 financial recession because they didn't have Trudeau and Freeland running the circus.

The US-Canada wage gap hits hard. Americans are becoming meaningfully wealthier than us on a per capita basis, all while their housing prices are significantly lower. We're not that far away from the average American making 50% more than the average Canadian. We're getting poorer and it's like no one is talking about it.

You want people to have equal rights until you literally can’t ride your bike to work because of the amount of people on drugs and homeless on the street/sidewalk is to large to even cross by. The drug problem in the United States and in Canada is off the chain out of control and these people that support rainbows and Drake are going to continue to have poor quality of life in their home they have been living and working in. Which is what is really unfair IMO…

Something is not adding up. People are coming to America, yet others are leaving? I always thought Canada was a great place to raise children. And they really care about their people. It seems like you have no real idea of what Canada is like as there are three seasons and the summer is very hot in many areas. The reason more why there is not much population up north in many places is geography as it is very rugged. Like the majority of the Western USA being desert, mountains and scrub. There is also still lots of land around the populated areas and there are 40 million people living there.

You can not find the jobs in Canada. Discrimination is more in Canada as compare to U.S. employers discriminate more and it is subtle and Canadians discriminate very politely.

I dont feel sorry for these of people....i have friends who did it the right way, poor and without much means they still did the paper work, interviews, paid their fees, and waited years.....and yeah they made into the US - while others think they can bypass the whole system of law or order and our democracy just bc they are poor. I moved to Canada from the US a few years ago. I lived in the US for over 30 year and the US government is a JOKE. Congress never got anything done regardless on what party is in office. If you're gay or trans I wouldn't move to the US because it's been very dangerous for that community especially in red states. The US still can't get better gun control to stop all of the mass school shootings yet and they think TikTok is the main threat right now. You can see where their priorities are. You can tell I moved to Canada due to political reasons lol Sure the cost of living in Canada are higher and I had to get adjusted to colder weather, but it was the best thing I ever did and I would NEVER move back to the US any time soon.
