As an American, I’m very confused. How can a leader speak so coherently and factual? All while staying so calm? This is unheard of for us.

I just just don't understand what these blanket tariffs achieve for Americans. Firstly, employment in the US is at an all time high, if the aim is to bring back primary and manufacturing industries then it's just a myth. It's just pointless and mindless. Nobody wants to go back to working in heavy industry, people want high paying, highly specialized industries, this doesn't create that, it just makes cost of living higher so wages have to go up and cost of bringing in raw materials goes up, all things that discourage start up companies that employ well educated and skilled Americans

But we can’t let our fellow Americans write him off like one. Evil thrives in the shadow of dismissive mockery, which is why we must take the danger of Donald Trump very seriously. So today we issue another warning. From this place where Abraham Lincoln spoke — right here in the beating heart of New York — to the rest of America: This is our last chance.
