Im just gonna say this. I generally vote Republican. In case anyone forgets, thats who protects the constitution. Furthermore, i can take in a mother with children because women and children are our most vulnerable people. Why don't more Democrats do this instead of waste tax money on all this stuff that does nothing to help people get jobs that will allow them to progress. Also, for any christians out there, we are to treat the alien with the same consideration as we would anyone else. The arab world is blind to the core issue. Hams son Canaan took land that wasnt his and thats the Lebanese people and a bit south. Shem got the blessing from Noah and so the strife is ancient and has no resolution until Christ comes. Sorry to spoil your hopes. Also, the US is about to be destroyed so I'd look into asking Jesus for salvation now. Fellow Christian, pray up the 144k, this will all go down quickly

well, yeah, that makes sense. The govt is allowing a MILLION immigrants into the country, and is spending money for 65,000 houses in Ont, where most of the immigrants end up (no immigrant wants to go to the prairies or the Maritimes. and Quebec allows hardly any there under the opt out clause in the constitution. Most Canadians can do basic math.

Sikhs should critically understand the fact that this kirpan is a weapon and can't be wore in public this way just in the name of their religious belief. Gone are the days of Rajas and Maharajas, now it's the rule of law,the constitutional democracy....plz get away with all these nonsense asap.

I have worked in the oil industry for the last 30 years and through constant attack from Canadians in places that dont have an oil industry the industry in Canada is a shell of what it once was. I gained employment in the US 5 years ago and moved to the US 2 years ago. I and my family have applied for green cards. I appreciate living in a country where individual rights and freedoms are enshrined within the constitution.

It is stated on the Website of the Government of British Columbia, “The B.C. government is making credential recognition for internationally trained professionals more transparent, efficient and fair.” Could anyone explain what it means “more fair”? Are there different degrees of fairness in Canada and in the province of British Columbia?-Well, isn’t fairness or being fair referred to Justice, and if so, does this mean that the Canadian legal system does not respect individual rights of all people equally?-And, if Canadian legal system does not respect individual rights of all people equally, isn’t this a violation of section 15 (1) of Constitution Act, 1982 that guarantees, “ Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability”?
\n Also, according to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (S.C. 2001, c. 27)
\n3 (1) The objectives of this Act with respect to immigration are
\n(e) to promote the successful integration of permanent residents into Canada, while recognizing that integration involves mutual obligations for new immigrants and Canadian society;
\n(j) to work in cooperation with the provinces to secure better recognition of the foreign credentials of permanent residents and their more rapid integration into society.
\n Consequently, if it is stated on the Website of the Government of British Columbia, “The B.C. government is making credential recognition for internationally trained professionals more transparent, efficient and fair.”, does this mean that the Government of British Columbia has been treating immigrants for more than 20 years in contradiction to s. 3 (1) (e)and (j) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, and, if so, why?
\n Also, if, the Government of British Columbia has been treating immigrants in contradiction to 3 (1) (e)and (j) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and in contradiction to section 15 (1) of Constitution Act, 1982, what about access of immigrants to the Court of Justice under section 24 (1) of Constitution Act, 1982 that guaranties, “Anyone whose rights or freedoms, as guaranteed by this Charter, have been infringed or denied may apply to a court of competent jurisdiction to obtain such remedy as the court considers appropriate and just in the circumstances.”? The question is whether there is access to justice for immigrants or for all people in Canada and in the province of British Columbia under section 24 (1) of Constitution Act, 1982 or not?

In the US, a recent immigrant will never get promoted to a supervisor. The discrimination is much worse in the US. Our constitution looks good only on paper.

I’ve been privileged to actually live and work for long periods of time in USA, Netherlands, and China…and in a variety of locations in each country. Until recently, I’d have chosen Canada without hesitation. Canada has been rocketing into an ideological cesspool rivalling China, but so has USA and the Netherlands. As for the future…if I were middle aged (as opposed to OLD!) I would go to southeast USA Fla or Tx. Not because they are ‘better ‘ right now, but I believe USA still has a chance to sort itself out but Canada is simply too screwed up and corrupt (morally, politically, socially, & financially) to recover at least in my lifetime. I was living in northern China (Harbin) when that idiot Trudeau became PM and hoped he had a chance to improve things in general. But it is clear he (or whoever is pulling his vapid strings) has been a disaster and his current opposition shows signs of being equally awful. I believe US citizens care far more for their constitution and freedoms and more aware of the perilous situation they’re in than Canadians, many of whom still believe we have a functioning health care system. All this is coming to you from a Canadian septuagenerian, highly educated by what was (decades ago) the best educational system in the Western Hemisphere. One who benefited from a wonderful health care system before it got farmed out to private corporations and became a haven for niche specialties while starving out the family physicians who were the front line for proactive family care. Can u tell I’m cranky yet? ?? Might as well laugh about it at this point. P.S. When the history of Canada is written I suspect an unabashed plagiarist will begin with the line, “It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.”

If your first act in this country is an illegal one, I don't have high hopes for you as a citizen. Stop calling it immigration. It's unlawful entry!\n\n“Illegal Entry”/8 U.S.C. § 1325 makes it a crime to unlawfully enter the United States. It applies to people who do not enter with proper inspection at a port of entry, such as those who enter between ports of entry, avoid examination or inspection, or who make false statements while entering or attempting to enter. A first offense is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine, up to six months in prison, or both.\n\n“Illegal Re-Entry”/8 U.S.C. § 1326 makes it a crime to unlawfully reenter, attempt to unlawfully reenter, or to be found in the United States after having been deported, ordered removed, or denied admission. This crime is punishable as a felony with a maximum sentence of two years in prison. Higher penalties apply if the person was previously removed after having been convicted of certain crimes: up to 10 years for a single felony conviction (other than an aggravated felony conviction) or three misdemeanor convictions involving drugs or crimes against a person, and up to 20 years for an aggravated felony conviction.\n\nCombined, violations of 8 U.S.C. §§ 1325 and 1326 became the most prosecuted federal offenses in recent years. Indeed, as of December 2018, they constituted 65 percent of all criminal prosecutions in federal court. Prosecutions for entry-related offenses subsequently declined when the government began expelling migrants back into Mexico rather than prosecuting them

The us could easily fix these peoples’ problems by invading any Western Hemisphere country and in the new constitution say that no head of state or assembly members can serve more than 10 years before a new leader was elected by the people in elections monitored by the Western Hemisphere states! It would save billions of dollars and countless families hardships.

Love your neighbors and your fellow human. This is intentional. Replacement migration. They want us to hate and / or fear these people to further divide and collapse our nation. Don't let them. Love these immigrants by handing out Bibles and US Constitutions. These will be your neighbors whether you like it or not. How will you respond? We are a Christian nation. We have people in our own government trying to collapse our Republic. Don't let them. Love your new neighbors. Teach and encourage them to love God and freedom. Otherwise this will not end well. This is the fault of the Biden Administration. If they had done their Constitutional job of defending our southern boarder, all these Venezuelians wouldn't be rushing to get in. They waisted the trip to come all this way. \n But considering what happened to them 4 years ago, I say they have more of a right to apply for asylum than those from Mexico.

If they make it through they will raise kids that would vote to change American policy to benefit illegals. We should remove the anchor baby law from our constitution. We should revoke citizenship from anybody whose parents are illegal and if they have not been any benefit to this country, they should be deported along with their parents. Period!

I wouldn't count on America's demise anytime soon. Although they are presently going through some sort of self inflicted psychosis, they undoubtedly have the best constitution and system of government in the world. Add to that their military might and the fact that they hold the world's reserve currency and you have a pretty strong argument for continued success.

*Excuse you*, Canada is a BIGGER, better version of what the USA is trying to be. BIGGER. More land mass up here, and it's really nice when it's not snowing. Maine seems nice, but most places are too expensive or too crazy. TYVM but absolutely not. I wouldn't trade my multicultural society for the world. Aside from the fruit loop fanatics, the gun laws and mass shootings, the ridiculous health care system that can't seem to provide care to people who need it, there's so much more about the USA to dislike. The rich dominate your society. The poor can't afford a college education and rich alumni kids don't even have to pass their courses. Some of your laws, like what constitutes rape in New York, are based on archaic thinking. Some of my relatives aren't white, and I worry about them when I hear they're thinking of spending time in the US. Seriously, we Canadians watch your movies and dramas where the plot is driven by something that isn't even an issue up here, and we're just, head shake, nope, no, nope.

First of all he wasn’t breaking any laws because he wasn’t hiding or concealing his Kirpan he was wearing it proudly in open. And it’s not about his religion or culture so put away your holy hand grenade and your hopes and dreams of disarming Sikhs because it’s about the Ohio state laws and the second amendment in the constitution that protects people from the law to allow people to carry weapons.\n\nThis cop idiot for not even knowing his own state laws because Open carry of deadly or not weapons is legal under Ohio State law. Just like open carrying a pistol is legal, open carry of any type of knife is legal as well. The entire knife doesn’t even have to be visible in order for it to be considered “unconcealed.” The school principal already apologized to this young man and the Sikh community about this stupid mistake. So Let’s put a end to your hopes and dreams of disarming Sikhs, the world is automatically changing and becoming more Sikh like mindset everyday, just as they banned most all tobacco products in America including cigarettes in all public places. Gurus told Sikhs long ago to always stay clear of tobacco for health reasons. The world is just now catching up.\n\nDo you know why the second amendment was put in the constitution of the United States? It’s a safeguard against the government if they start abusing your freedoms and rights that Americans can fight against them, every government will always try to take our rights to control us but it’s up to us as citizens to fight back everytime. This was written in the constitution by the founders of the country because they seen what government will do if they’re giving a chance.

I'm Canadian and I would move to certain places in the US, but not all, the same as I think of places in Canada. I love and respect that the States are or were the beacon for democracy and freedom of religion and speech. The world has benefitted so much from the freedoms outlined in your constitution but which are now under such extreme pressure to collapse. Canadians on a whole are too lazy and comfortable to fight for what is right. So sad.

Americans feel everyone has usa high on a pedestal which couldn't be further from the truth. Hollywood has done a good job of social engineering the people to think usa is the best and do everything the right way and any other way is ìnferior.\nHaving experience working with Americans who were nice people but extremely ignorant that other countries can do things better and try to change everything without considering there is better ways..\nIm not Canadian I'm Australian but being a cousin in the Commonwealth of Nations. We all have a similar philosophy and having a constitutional monarchy protects from tyranical fascist governments.

Uk born and bred move to Canada 1978…never ever would live in the States.\nWhile over there one day a man asked me what did I think about America..deep breath I said never met an American I didn’t like but….Americans do not know what is going on in the outside world, they think they are the b all and end all yet they nothing about their own country hell they don’t know what is going in the next state to them.\nI asked did you ever think about the fact that the reason that in the constitution to bare arms was because of invasion, enemies invading your country and property because why the hell are you all armed…Oh he has never thought about that.\nAfter watching Jamal aka Jamal trying to watch teenagers in the states being asked very basic questions about the USA the answers were cringeworthy ..\nYour education stinks ,your healthcare is a money grabbing system..yes beautiful places to go to visit and that’s it..?
|

I'd be hard pressed to move to USA cuz your medical system prices, wages are less and so many people in a much smaller landscape. Id go for your constitution (1A, 2A) absolutely but Biden is a BIG turnoff for sure, your housing is way cheaper, your taxes are cheaper but... in Canada there is way more space where you can go and not see anybody besides moving to Northern Alaska, Montana or North Dakota. There are PROS and CONS to living in USA/Canada but I would move for dual citizenship and if I had guaranteed medical coverage but still keep a place in Canada to escape back to in case your country imploded under your current government or if I needed medical attention. It would be way better if you had a normal POTUS like Trump imo. Your money is at least worth the face value on the dollar bill... Cdn cash is like worth 50 cents US... we are like a peso currently.

On the gun issue, I'm not sure that american people really understand the second Amendment. With a 7B $ Armed forces budget and the fact that Indepedance war againts Britain is over for more than 200 years there is no need anymore for the 2nd Amendment. In Canada, we don't have any equivalent article in our Constitution and I'm very happy about it. Some people should meditate on the subject.

Never as a Canadian your country is messed up. As a country we've amended our Charter of Rights and Freedom many times. Your country is in the stone age what gives you the right to carry guns cus it's in your constitution grow tfup. Your republican party is corrupt your orange 45 buffoon is a rapist you should be ashamed. If our country could separate from yours I'll be right there.
|

the difference is a constitution vs nothing. we have nothing keeping our government in check so smart people hide or leave. the day canadians get a spine is the day the government and the world will respect and stop draining its resources.
|
| 2023-07-17 | 0 |
As a Canadian. Not a snowball's chance in hell. There is nowhere in the USA that Canada doesn't already have. Oh wait, we have FREE healthcare for starters. I don't need to worried about being shot walking down the street in a major city or having my 1st of 4th amendment rights violated by organizations like the ATF or screwball cops who have no clue what the Constitutionally protected rights of your own citizens are (and coming from a Canadian, that alone speaks volumes).\n\nAlso, if your schools need metal detector checkpoints to enter the school, then why would any sane person send their kids to a place where they have to be searched to obtain their education safely?\n\nThe US gun culture makes what should be safe places, completely unsafe to begin with because you never know when that shy easy going person will snap and start shooting people. \n\n\nNope.

No we are not a better America. We have a sane country, no guns, no militarized police, a democracy, a parliamentary form of government and a King as our Head of State. A Trump would be impossible up here. We elect a party not a leader. One non-confidence in parliament and our Vice Regent, the Governor General would inform the King and parliament would be closed for a new election. We also have no ridiculous nearly 250-year-old Constitution. Our Consitution is based upon the British North American Act. We can revise it anytime with the Governor General's permission (and the King's). We are a peaceful nation and do not think like Americans. But I'd travel in the North East US. America''s fixation with patriotism is nauseating.

Alberta should separate from authoritarian fascist Canada. A real constitution and bill of rights is required.
|
| 2023-07-16 | 0 |
I absolutely would move to the US but I don't think it will be any better as the US is number 1 on the globalists list to subjugate. If RFK gets voted in I may consider it. I don't trust Trump he gave the world the clot shot. I love the US Constitution and that courts in the US are not all corrupt and actually uphold people's rights not so much in Canada. I just dont like the levels of violent crime in the US. I wouldn't mind Alaska or Maine, or other states that are sparsely populated and quiet country living with very little crime.
|

I was a dual US/Canadian citizen since birth (born in the US to parents of mixed citizenship) and have lived in Canada since 1982.\nI renounced my US citizenship a few months ago to be 100% Canadian. I still think the US is a great nation in many regards, but it is also *so* deeply messed up. The fact that the US's response to SCHOOL CHILDREN being shot to death in school was literally to do NOTHING was what made me decide to cut ties officially and formally.\nTo put an outdated, irrelevant, vaguely worded, and actually harmful constitutional amendment ahead of the lives of children is nothing short of evil.
|

Tyler, the gun laws in the United States are ridiculous! A person can get a gun at the age of 18 but can't buy a beer, pack of cigarettes or see an R rated movie. School shootings happen in small towns too. Uvalde is barely over 15,000. I don't think the founding fathers had your current gun culture in mind when the Constitution was written. Look up Japan's gun laws. That's the model all countries should follow.
|
| 2023-07-16 | 0 |
No! Not a chance not when the USA is gun crazy and lets nut jobs run for leader of the country. You kill your kids for an obsolete amendment to your Constitution. It is no longer necessary tell the right to bear arms the British Redcoats are not going to invade you and take your country. Your gun violence is way out of control, and I watched your country take away more of your citizens rights day by day.

To start, I'm from Quebec, so sorry if the translation is bad, I don't speak basic English... First of all, the United States is a country of misfortune for me, I'm sorry if it sounds abrupt, but how I see it!\n\nHonestly I think that for the reputation of the country and their people, it will never change if the question of weapons is not settled! (Yes again the weapons) Because that's what comes back the most how many people there are in the cemeteries who didn't ask for anything and who died by a bullet lost by the mass killings in the schools or by psychologically crazy speaking who should have ever had a gun in their hands! Whenever the question is asked it is always the reason for patriotism or the constitutional right to bear arms!\n\nThere is absolutely nothing normal and natural about going to Walmart and walking out with a rifle or a semi-automatic weapon without more regulations or investigation of the person who wants to buy the weapon in question. Never in the life does it exist in Quebec or even in any similar place in Canada! We would say at times that the United States and Canada are two different planets and not territories on the same continent.\n\nAnd also it's funny that the country is called ''United States'' while people are divided like never before with racism and political opinions whether your more (Republican) or (Democrat). Believe me, I'm not happy to make this comment because I would like to love you more! And of course I don't put everyone in the same boat I know you're not all like that! But shit wake up!!! Can't you see that there is something wrong with you!?
|

anyways, the USA is heading to Civil War. I give it five years max. Far Right wackadoodles against Semi Left Democratic Wackadoodles... incidentally, you can not equate American Right or Left to Canada's Right or Left. The USA is a Republic and Canada is a Constitutional Monarchy. Not even politically close. Sorry USA, you are doomed.
|
| 2023-07-16 | 0 |
Hell yes. I'd move back in an instant. I used to live in the US with my American wife. Coming back to Canada we enjoyed nothing but expense, no rights, a lot of restrictions and now it's becoming like communist China. Love it or hate it America is the last place on earth that has real rights backed up by a real constitution. And you can enjoy any locale not just a few mile strip across the Canadian wet, frozen or scorching nation. People that think the US is bad are deluded and probably leftist, anti-Trumpers, think that the Canadian health care system is free and you have a choice.
