As a Canadian, I didn’t vote for Trudeau but I have to hand it to him, he has expressed the thoughts and feelings of the majority of Canadians very well. Canadians are generally pretty laid back and easy going, often too polite for our own good. However, as the Americans in 1812, the Germans in WW1 and WW2, the Chinese and North Koreans in the Korean War and the Taliban in Afghanistan found out we don’t shy away from a fight when we are provoked. In the early 1990s I worked with a Canadian and he said it is easy to cross the border into the U.S. but getting back into Canada was a hassle even if you were a Canadian citizen, you had to show the proper documents, be searched if you looked even slightly suspicious (aka not white). Makes a lot of sense they were keeping undesirables out of Canada but weren't concerned about who was getting into the U.S.

Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people.
