Its not as simple as deporting all illegals, All those who complain about inflation, now get ready for for the unseen/ unsaid issues th at come along with this way of doing things, it is tied into the economy and will have enormous impacts of pricing and manufacturing. If you thought it is inflation and the caused by the last admistration, tou are sadly mistaken. Those who do the job for products and farm the food you eat will now no longer exist, and the americans who do no not want to do those jobs, no have no one to do them, and hence chaos will ensue, just like how majority of american manufacturing....ie Snapon, Briggstraton. Etc has all gone over seas to make the easy money out of greed and now puts blame on china as they knew making pennies on the dollar is profitable, but not realizing the consequences of doing so as you lose control of what American made product and now in the hands of foreign countries to do whatever they want and there is nothing you can do about it, as its happening right now in china with companies as Apple, etc are finding out it may be profitable but comes at a price when you do business on foreign soil and you have just lost control. Those who dont know why the border must have a swinging door which swings both ways, as All companies take advantage of south of the border because of vheap labor and laxed regulation so they can get away with what they can get away on us soil. Now you get someone like chump who has zero tolerance and no political experience run it like a business with out understanding of the consequences that comes with actions done with out beabke to compromise. You all complain about inflation, now get ready in your everyday lives, from manufacturing, to groceries, to dining out, and be prepared to pay alot more because now, no one is going to do thise jobs as the so called americans didnt want to do those jobs, as its always gone unspoken that hey they are doing it, and reeps the fruits of the laborors and could care less until it got out of hand as of today. Since when is “insurrection” an “official presidential duty”? Trump is a known Master Liar. This is beyond a moment when a president estimates, guesses and exaggerate numbers, figures and facts. Trump just lies – over 2k+ lies. Trump cannot be trusted in telling Americans the truth. Every time Trump opens his mouth, a lie flies out! Trump doesn’t appear to be able to help himself. One lie after another. Spreading the lie that the 2020 election was “stolen” and not providing legal evidence is an unforgivable act that Americans should #NEVER forget. MAGA, selected GOP, Christian Nationalists don’t appear to be troubled that Trump cannot tell the truth. To me, the truth strengthens the bond of trust – I have NO Trust for Trump! MAGA, Christian Nationalists and some selected GOP – I may use big words that you don’t comprehend such as: Liar, Convicted Felon, sexual misconduct, Insurrection, Fraud, election interference, Unauthorized Possession of classified documents. These are some, not ALL, of the words that defines Trump and his actions. These things do NOT appear to cause any concerns with the 71.2m people who cast their vote in the Nov 5th ’24 presidential election. Trump had unauthorized possession of classified material. (I am not certain what Classified Material Trump possessed, but if these documents would put my friends, my family and I in harm’s way – it’s a problem.) Again, those who voted for Trump, the 71.2m people, #NEVER thought about this. If they had, Trump would #NEVER have received their vote. America has a short attention span. How quickly have we forgotten that Trump’s inaction of Covid-19 could have prevented many from becoming ill and millions losing their lives. (If one of your loved ones have passed due to Covid-19, you will remember Trump’s inability to deal and handle the situation. It is something you will #NEVER forget.) I will not write a book here, but the listed reasons above is why Trump may be the 47th President of the United States, but he isn’t my president. My president would have #NEVER done these things to an American.

$200/ month for health ins is a lot. $2400/ yr. or $24,000/ 10 yrs. That is the amount just to be insured for ONE family member. It doesn't include copays when you do have to visit a doctor or need medication. Then what happens if your plan doesn't give you enough coverage or ANY coverage for a new illness or what is considered to be a pre-existing condition?! Cdns could very well pay this in taxes, but the taxes pay for a lot more of what is needed to have a functioning society. Americans pay these amounts plus taxes. YIKES!!

I made a concentrated effort to assimilate into the American culture as quickly as possible and become a productive part of the American culture and it's traditions. Hi! I'm an American with the 'dream' of immigrating to Canada for many years. Got permanent residency and am working in Montreal for the summer to try it out and.... really shocked about the high taxes vs. the quality of the roads for example :/ What social benefits are Canadians really getting? Although the pace of life and culture is nice, it is hard to make less money here as a teacher than I could be in the US, and with some bullsh*t to put up with (pardon my language). And although I feel safe here, I can't believe how car thefts are so brazen and common. I might just become a seasonal visitor after all.

Why do people say when people are crossing either from Mexico or Canada into America, but in reality is both countries are both in America. I'll admit I could be more educated on this but also why is running to America the solution. Watch our news. They use this for political gain. Year after year this happens and it's always that they changed a law somewhere. I don't know. As an Indian immigrant myself, I have tremendous sympathy for Canadians. \n\nThe so called diploma mills were always a danger but online classes during covid meant they could quadruple their attendance (and thus, their bottom line). The degrees offered by these colleges are worthless and that's why anyone who's moved to Canada in the last 4-5 years is finding it difficult to get meaningful employment.\n\nOn the other side, the Canadian dream really is sold as a cheaper and safer alternative to the American Dream. This is especially rampant in the state of Punjab where people from villages sell their ancestral property to move to Canada as students only to find the stalemate that is the job sector.\n\nThis in turn puts pressure on the economy, the housing market, and the welfare programmes. I think the immigration needs to halt for a while. A LOT of students are lacking in technical and linguistic skills to propel the Canadian economy and society forward and they'll need to not be given Permanent Residencies. PR should go to highly skilled immigrants who are integrating into the Canadian society instead of turning Brampton into mini India.

Why don't the president of Mexico stop this??? I'll tell you why, or what Mexicans man told me. He said, Biden ask him to stop these people from coming to Mexico then coming here. There are now quite a few news stories in Canada of immigrants leaving the country - some back home and others to the USA and other places. Many just get a Canadian passport and then leave. There are public health care and pensions, so it can be an asset and also a convenient travel document to have. A lot of Canadian university graduates have a very hard time finding work in their fields and a lot of them look to the US for a better future. Both immigration and unemployment in Canada are much higher that in the US - so more people are chasing fewer jobs that often pay less and are taxed more than in the USA. Opportunities are generally a lot fewer in Canada than the US, and the business environment is not as favourable, and taxes significantly higher. You would be getting some of the entrepreneurs from Canada moving to the US for more favourable conditions as well to launch a business and also now a lot more rich investor types, so-called high net worth individuals wanting to relocate, because they just raised the capital gains tax in Canada. Capital gains is also triggered on inheritance in Canada with a deemed sale of property and assets, so rich people would prefer the American system and want to be residents there for tax purposes and have their assets grow in value in the US compared to Canada. There are very large numbers of foreign students and other categories of immigrants which may have as their goal going to the US after getting a temporary visa to Canada which is easy to get - maybe something like half a million to a million people in those categories depending on the year, plus around another half million regular immigrants and refugees now. The Trudeau administration has increased immigration to record numbers. It has been steadily going up over the years for several decades since 1990. Because of family re-unification it can have a snowball effect and could significantly exceed 1 million per year. A lot of the sending countries have much larger populations than Canada, so there are a lot more that can be potentially sent to Canada in the future. About 1/4 of the population of Canada has been added in the past few decades. Add to that visitors and temporary visas - that is a lot of people potentially moving to the US. Before the 1990s Canadians visiting the US were not required to have a passport and a drivers' license or birth certificate was adequate. Now a passport is required. It is impossible to effectively control the long Canada-US border, so there could be some unified policies in that area agreed on between Canada and the USA on immigration and refugees. Canada currently has a very open immigration policy with the government actively seeking out more immigration beyond its current processing capacity and trying to take rejected immigrants from other countries. The Canadian government, especially in recent years under Trudeau is immigration hungry. It might be the only country in the world doing that. What some news reports are now saying is that some immigrants are actually leaving, since they find it so difficult in Canada and some are worse off than they were in the countries they came from, which were considered to be less developed than Canada. \nWashington currently has more immigration controls and administrative competencies than Ottawa, so US pressure and influence is a faster way to get reforms into the system than waiting for local politicians to do anything, which is unlikely. Canada is seen by some as a backdoor into the US. Biden's immigration policies could be seen as very conservative in Canada compared to Trudeau's. It used to be in the news about how refugees were trying to get to Canada and walking across the border in Quebec and out west from the US earlier, but now there are more news stories of immigrants leaving Canada trying to go the other way, probably due to high costs and unemployment because the government took in more people than it could absorb into the economy. They have the idea that immigration drives GDP growth so that they can borrow and spend more, expand the civil service, etc. without making any cutbacks or efficiencies, supposedly without the Debt to GDP ratio getting worse, just by bringing in more people as if that would drive the economy. A lot depends on who you bring in as well. Are they going to go on welfare, are they going to increase crime, will they somehow contribute to society, are they a net tax benefit or cost in terms of government services, will they invest money, will they start a business and create jobs for others ? Those issues do not factor into government decision making in Canada for the most part. Ontario Premier Doug Ford did say there were too many foreign students. It is bad planning not to consider those factors since there are other costs that grow with those policies as well, and infrastructure has to be expanded. I think that the real immigration numbers to Canada are not transparent or made public, nor are the costs involved, if anyone even knows what they are. Nor is the impact on crime. You can guess from what the reports are in other countries. The Fraser Institute has made some estimates on the net costs of immigration to the government budget a few years ago, which were very high and which by now have increased - the cost equivalent of several new aircraft carriers each year. They are big numbers which are not publicized, but it amounts to the fact that immigration is subsidized by the taxpayers in Canada and it is not paying for our pensions as an ageing society as has been claimed. There is less money for education, health care and pensions per person, and those social benefits will probably have to be reduced over time. Social programs can only be delivered to the extent that the government has money. The bigger social system a county has, the more such immigration policies are going to cost. Trudeau has been expanding various social programs as well, so higher taxes and debt are likely with that approach. Then more productive people and companies will want to leave Canada and go to the US. Probably the government does not know what the actual numbers and costs are and doesn't actively keep track of that information beyond what is required. Probably nobody knows what the true immigration figures and their associated costs are in Canada, and hardly anyone has even studied those issues. If they can just walk across the US border and get papers so easily making an asylum claim, it is not surprising, since it would take them longer to get a regular visa and work permit if they did it legally. You could call that a loophole in the US immigration system which is being exploited. The US is better governed in general and has a better system in many ways, but I am not sure if it is the same on that. People have arrived on boats and have not been sent back. At least in the US you have more open information about those issues. In Canada it is hard to find out anything about it. Deportations from Canada are very few. \nOn other issues in Canada when voting in federal elections you have to show a government issued photo ID like a drivers' license or passport to vote and bring a card that was mailed out to eligible voters that gets updated addresses when a person files their taxes. I have never heard of mail-in ballots in Canada, but there are remote areas of the country in the far north who may have special system for voting. It is easier to get a Canadian citizenship than US and many more citizenships are handed out in Canada each year in proportion to the population than in the US. Canadian might be one of the easiest citizenships to get in the world. The official line now is that it is a country of immigrants. Based on current trends, will very little opposition to it in the parliament and most MPs supporting it, future immigration to Canada could increase to several million per year because of the rapid growth of population in the world, and the momentum already growing of immigration to Canada, so it may change significantly in the future. Historically around the world you can see many examples that country names, borders, flags and languages change over time with population changes, so it might not be called Canada anymore in 50-100 years. For example, Bulgaria used to be called Thrace which had been a powerful kingdom in antiquity and had a different language which is barely known about anymore. Over the past 2,000 years it has gone through a number of changes and had various regimes governing it, has been independent and also part of several different empires. Canada has only been a country for a short time in comparison and has been been going through significant changes. Trudeau has said that Canada is a post-national country. Canada is also going through a period of critical self-examination and deconstruction-revisionism. A lot of what had been viewed as positive from its history now is seen more critically, with re-naming and removing historical figures now seen as negative.\nDiscussing immigration policy critically is considered by many to be taboo in Canada, unless a person is saying good things about it in general. You can hear people say that the government isn't processing enough people, for example, but not often that there are too many or that it costs a lot of money. The trend of migration from Canada to the US would only increase much more in the future as it is going currently, and its role as a stepping stone to migration to the US could increase. The way this would be seen by many in Canada is that they are losing valuable people to the USA whom they consider assets, since a lot of officials have been trying to bring in more people into the country, but not everyone wants to stay in Canada nowadays because of a lack of jobs and opportunities. Canada is quite laissez-faire about migration, with Toronto being a sanctuary city as well.

We pay, only to find ourselves living paycheck to paycheck while foreigners receive free food, housing, and a luxurious monthly stipend of 1400 dollars - a sum that could be life-changing for many of these families. \n \nIt's disconcerting to note that those who contribute so considerably to the nation's finances are left with little by way of compensation. Why should our citizens' hard-earned money be spent on others first, only to have their own basic needs ignored? \n \nConsider a mother and father working multiple jobs just to provide for their children - and yet they don't even come close to receiving that 1400 dollars in financial support. Meanwhile, those who haven't contributed nearly as much are given such ample handouts. Is this the system we want in America?

Excellent video highlighting this terrible problem. TBH, the world outside of USA isn't all that bad in modern times. Its actually better. Many of these migrants already have a house, job and safety in their own countries. I Feel like the 'cartel' story is overly used to make seeking asylum easy. If the cartels are the problem, then why not go to the root and get rid if the cartels?\n\nFor migrants, it's a fashion and status to say 'I've been to USA'. They lie about their sexuality, oppression abuse and persecution in order to be granted asylum in the US because they know how to make Americans sympathize and make Americans pay their bills. True asylum seekers who need this benefit can never afford their travel all the way to USA. We were traveling along the I-40 in Kingman Arizona and it was getting dark and we were tired, so we thought we would get a hotel room for the night. We pulled into a hotel parking lot and as we were getting out , a bus pulled up and fully loaded with migrants were getting out and we barely got by them to the front counter and we were pushed aside by the hotel so they could book them all in. Being frustrated we left and went to another hotel and they also had a bus load, we went to 3 hotels to find the same thing happening and we left this town and ended up sleeping in our car about 30 miles away … this is BS that Americans are being pushed out.

I live in Quebec and love winter, but I do sometimes dream of living somewhere like Hawaii or California where I could eat ripe avocados and grow so much food all year round. I could build a tiny home (less regulations - so much red tape here - and cheaper bc less need of insulation and heating) and go swimming every day. This is pretty idealistic though, and could probably do these things in non-american countries. Would I consider moving to the United States? Sure I would consider it. Would I though? Probably not. Why? Similar reasons to many folks in this country:\n- lack of women's rights (still growth to do here too)\n- lgbtqia+ discrimination (here as well, but definitely to a lesser extent)\n- racism (we have this here too though... just maybe less nazis?)\n- guns (this terrifies me... anyone I know who has a gun here has it only for hunting and it's locked up in a gun case, which I think is required, when not in use)\n- healthcare (though I'm not in love with our system... I'm currently on a huge waiting list for an mri, the waiting lists to get a doctor are obscene, and can't access dental or mental health support... some of our hospitals are in such poor shape...)\n- politics and MAGA (terrifying that so many people think like that... though our political parties are pretty fucked up too... just not to the same extent)\n- school systems that teach kids the world is as old as the Bible says\n- police and prison industrial complex (seems less personal and terrifying from the outside)

My father was an indigenous Ecuadorian orphan in the sixties who was adopted by an American contractor. My father's feet had been in the Amazon rainforest jungle trees since his infancy and he could wear shoes because of his callouses. My father had surgery on his feet as a child so he could wear shoes. Now, my dad is an air force veteran and a very proud American. I'm very proud of my Ecuadorian heritage. This is not totally an Indian issue. The government lied to them and scam them working with school for profit and putting them into debts. I am not A Canadian I’m an American, but I interact with lots of Canadians as they find themselves coming down here for one reason to the other and I’m not near the border either. I’m quite far into the US in a major US city.\n\nThere are two types of Canadians that distinct themselves. The first group is the ones that are themselves immigrants that are naturalized. I make this distinction because many cases they have not assimilated. They still have their own culture from another country and is pointed out by the narrator people from south Asia and Asia strongly have their culture And language \n\n( Canada is good for allowing people to live in communities to cut themselves off from the main screen. You have people who speak the Ukrainian language Going Back 4 generations)\n\nThen I’m gonna have to use a euphemism that might make peoples hair stand on the back of their neck. I’m gonna call them. The white Canadians has a euphemism. These are people who are going so far back from the British Isles for the most part and the French also speak another language who have no connection to Europe. The English-speaking Canadians who are you from white could walk down or come down to the US and fit right in in a matter of weeks if they’re not already assimilated into the US Culture ( I hope I don’t see any fireworks start coming from this comment) Many of these white Canadians are now more economically disadvantage than the newer Asian and south Asian immigrants and find themselves often times competing for resources with these newer immigrants. Many immigrants more effectively when it comes to investment funds and banking as they formed their own little cocoon communities that don’t interact with the white Canadians.\n\nUnderstandably the white Canadians feel like they’re shut out, unappreciated by the government and now disadvantage and if they raise any protest, they’re called racist and white supremacist. \n\nJust so you know, I am not a white American, but I have an immigrant father from East Asia and I have relatives of my fathers who are also from the same Asian country who immigrated the Canada that I’m in contact with\n\nCulturally when I run into white Canadians, what I noticed is that their diction and speech is so clean clear and polished. I’m a Canadian nurse and I lived in the US for 10 years during my career. I did it when I was young to gain work experience and travel with friends. It gave me a lot of insight in how it feels to live in both countries. I’ve been a nurse and patient in both counties so I also know how it feels to work, live and be a resident in both. \n\nI cannot articulate enough how it has confirmed to me how fortunate I am to be Canadian. The perks to living in the US were very superficial and frivolous things that matter very little in the broad scheme of things,….which I see as more restaurant chains, cheaper restaurant food, more shopping options, etc. As a young person when I lived there,…those things seemed amazing but matter far less as I get older. \n\nWhen I lived there, I paid a fraction of the income taxes that I paid in Canada but it’s only short term gain for long term pain. The cost of health care, the amounts of gov funded benefits (disability, EI, pension, etc) in the US makes it well worth paying taxes to offset these things as in Canada. I have had cancer 3 times in 5 years and I’ve not paid a cent for treatment, scans, surgery, etc in Canada. My employer held my job for 2 years and I received long term disability of 70% of my yearly wages and my employer paid my full pension and benefits as I was off of work. After 2 years, my cancer returned and was deemed incurable so I will continue to receive this pay and benefits until I’m 65 and can retire as I can no longer work. I have no financial worries as I battle cancer. \n\nTo contrast,…my US employer was a world reknowned hospital that had excellent pay and benefits. Had I been working there when I was diagnosed with cancer, I would only have gotten full pay for 6 weeks until my sick time and vacation time was used up. Then I was eligible for a fraction of my income for 3 months, which would not be enough to live on. I would not have had my pension paid. After that, I’d receive no more pay and my employer would hold my job without pay for 6 months and then I’d be let go. My cancer required nearly 2 years off of work so after 5 months of this minimal pay, I’d have no income, no job and no benefits with a new pre existing condition to ensure that I’d have a snowballs chance in hell of getting future coverage. Meanwhile during that 5 months of some pay, I’d still need to pay huge costs of treatment despite having insurance but that would disappear after I was let go from my job. I’d have to return to work during my treatment just to afford to continue it. I have many US friends that had a similar cancer that worked throughout to cover basic cancer care while I was able to recuperate without working or fearing being unable to pay. There is nothing comparable to this when you are sick. It is everything!\n\nSadly, many of my American friends are very ill informed on how health care works in other countries and don’t see the shortcomings in their own. Ironically though, they are willing to argue it without proper information so I often find that bizarre. While lived there I felt as though I was in a bubble where the only news that I saw was US news. I saw no info or minimal about Canada in my whole time there,…aside from falsehoods about health care to scare people away from seeking change. “Canadians are all dying while waiting”, “they are all coming to the US for care”, “they pay 80% income tax” etc. All propaganda,…some from politicians or those that should know better. It was truthfully mind boggling to me how educated people could know so little about the world. It almost felt as though they heard so much propaganda about how terrible other places were while only having knowledge of the US, that it ensured that things would stay the same without anyone wanting beneficial changes to dysfunctional policies (like health care, cost of meds, lack of gun regulations, etc). It’s very bizarre.

To be honest, The Hudson's Bay Company and CP Rail are essential to Canada's history. The True North has always been strong (I LOVE Canadians and their culture), but they could be a lot more free.\n\nCanadians deserve better. Like Americans, they deserve a non-corporate government. The Arab league could band together and send in a “peace keeping force”,\nKnowing that Israel (together with their backers) has contravened international (UN & other) laws against humanity especially in Gaza and the West Bank!,\n\nIsrael should get a warning prior, that a force is coming in and that any aggression towards it (and including against the inhabitants) will be met with “lethal force” and stopped.\n\nThey need to also enforce a\n1. No Fly zone over Gaza & the West Bank\n2. Sea exclusion zone for military Navy vessel’s on Israeli & American, British, German and French vessels.\n3. The peace keeping force to control “all boarder’s to ensure No military or Israeli settlers interventions, with any breaches to be met with lethal force!.\n4. The Arab League to set up a Sea Port & Harbour in Gaza in order for Palestinians to receive (without restrictions) humanitarian aid & free trade arrangements with countries willing to help rebuild the damaged infrastructure, this would include in part setting up a water desalination plant in order for Palestinians to have their own independent water supply.\n(With fuel and power plant to immediately follow, to enhance the life of all remaining inhabitants)\n\nAnd this would be the bare minimum’s to start with, on the road to recovery for the inhabitants.\n\nA new independent government body to be established to govern the Palestinian State with full autonomy and independence!.
