Explain it to them through THEIR lens. Thats what they care about. Here is an example: feel free to use it:\nYou buy a GE company bulb that is made in China for $10.\nNow trump imposes a 25% tariff on imports from China. \n1. Who collects the Tariff: The US Govt.\n2. Who pays the extra 25%? GE. \n3. Is GE a philanthrophic/charity organization? No. So why will they bear the cost of the exta 25%?\n4. So what do they do? Now your bulb costs $12.5.\n5. Why? Because 25% of 10 is 2.5. So 10+2.5=12.5\n6. What does this increase in price mean? Inflation.\n7. Wont this encourage make in America? No, because you deported immigrants and now you have to pay american wages. Suddenly your bulb costs $20 because GE pays minimum wage to an American. So yeah, now everything is made in America but you are homeless paying more for everything.

How is it a tariff on Columbia its a tariff on the American people because it is they who will pay the tariff a tax on American people You still buy bananas and coffee and Columbian oil causing inflation and higjer prices on the American people?
2025-01-26 0
That's ok; Americans can just buy all of their coffee from Canadians at lower price!? Canada already sells America close to 600 million worth of coffee a year. Welcome to MAGAs world? doesn’t it make sense?
2025-01-26 0
Us Americans always think were untouchable! such arrogance is dangerous, we need the world more than the world needs us, were only 4.22% of the worlds population and only 6% of the wrolds land mass, BRICS is only getting stronger and is going away from the Dollar, do your research people, what good is producing products if the rest of the world doesn't want to buy them... lets treat humans as humans not like animals lets show some respect!
2025-01-26 0
And Colombia is hitting back. Remember Trump started a world trade war during his first term -- and the US got its butt kicked royally. South America stopped buying American produce and started buying from China. The EU stopped buying American steel and started buying from China. (US Steel ended up closing two American based plants as a result.) I see the same outcome during his second term.
2025-01-26 0
Columbia is not paying for those bullshit tariffs. Whatever companies ? buying their goods is so he can just say Americans are.
2025-01-26 0
Wrong! It doesn’t cost Americans more when a tariff is placed. It forces the incoming product manufacturer to lower its costs so people will still buy, and if people still buy, the percentage of tariff will fund the us government vs our income taxes. If they don’t lower their costs, they risk people not buying which hurts their business and hurts the country they are in because they don’t make as much money to send taxes to their country’s government
2025-01-26 0
The way trump is playing the tariff games will make Americans either to produce everything inside their own country or buy the same product for double amount ?\n\nN.B Most Americans don’t understand how tariff works, it’s always the consumer in the end who pays the tariff, in this case Americans.
2025-01-26 0
So one of Trump's retaliatory responses is to punish any American company buying Columbian goods or parts. It will cause them to purchase those goods or parts elsewhere but where? Will Trump tariff them next? \nNothing like uncertainty of supply to keep American businesses running efficiently and on their toes.
2025-01-26 0
Good God my fellow Americans if you want to buy a TV a radio a telephone anything that's got foreign parts in you better do it now because they will cost five times as much by the time summer gets here cuz this stupid orange goblin is in charge now y'all wanted him I voted for her
2025-01-26 0
So, trump hits american companies buying stuff from columbia with a tariff. Columbia does not pay the tariff and it is not going to affect anyone but the american consumer who the american companies, who paid the hidden tax he just imposes on us, the consumer, won't actually pay in the long run because that tariff just becomes part of their cost of goods that they will add to their sales prices.
2025-01-26 0
The point being missed is, WE AMERICANS DO NOT HAVE TO BUY ANY PRODUCTS THAT ARE TARIFFED! WHICH WILL ONLY BE HARDER FOR COLUMBIA! I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT ANY ILLEGAL ALIENS! THE AMERICAN DREAM IS NOT FOR THE FREAKING CRIMINALS…THE AMERICAN DREAM IS FOR AMERICANS!!
2025-01-26 0
Every time countries don't bow to your threats you punish the American consumers by raising taxes, soon Americans will be poor and can't afford to buy anything. Idiots in charge.
2025-01-26 0
Just means we as Americans will not buy the products because they are too expensive forcing Columbia to bend to his will
2025-01-26 0
BUY AMERICAN
2025-01-26 0
So be it, let’s buy American products
2025-01-26 0
Tariffs have zero affect on Americans who don't buy products from Columbia. If you are buying a product from Columbia and its price goes up, don't buy it or buy your product from another country. It's that simple.
2025-01-26 0
Americans can help by not buying products from countries not taking their illegals back
2025-01-26 0
So now Anything we get from Colombia will be expensive, so Americans likely won’t buy it. If they do, the U.S. government collects the extra tariff money from the product??
2025-01-26 0
Please let’s all encourage tariffs on Trumps America. I’m British and won’t buy American
2025-01-26 0
So the orange idiot has taxed the American people on Columbian products... Good job moron now things will cost us more money to buy.
2025-01-26 0
People don’t understand tariffs. It hurts the foreign country far more. It means American companies will not buy from them leading them to lower prices or not do business with America. which is catastrophic for them.
2025-01-26 0
So if it carries on like this, Donald Chaos is going to be applying trade tariffs against many of his neighbors for not taking back their migrants that the US needs to keep their domestic economy afloat? So it'll be costing the US at least an equivalent cost increase to continue buying goods from Columbia (and other countries as yet unknown to add to the list) until the US has no sources left to switch to that are un-tariffed and more economic.\nThese countries will just sell their goods elsewhere if the US doesn't buy them, so the American consumer loses out and pays to finance this fiasco in the making = US price inflation. \nSo falling out with your neighbors is how to make America great again is it?\nWhat sort of successful businessman works like this and succeeds? Donald Chaos, the Art of The Fail.
2025-01-26 0
How does this lower the price of groceries? How does levying a 25 percent value added tax on Americans for buying produce and coffee grown in Columbia lower food prices?
2025-01-26 1
great! \nlots of fruit, spices, coffees, chocolate, some metals, lime and other cement components, on and on and on are all about to have prices skyrocket. hope ya'll didn't want to buy any lumber, that's gonna suffer soon too\nso trump just wants to punish the american people because the columbian president refused to bend knee to his absurd display. this makes sense... *big sad sigh*
2025-01-26 0
These Liberal Pinheads keep pushing their BS . Tariffs don't affect USA Consumers . Most Countries around the World have had Tariffs against the USA for Decades on certain Goods . It's a Protectionist Tool to keep USA Goods out of their Countries . The EU has had Tariffs against USA Cars for Decades now . Trump has railed against that for Years . USA Consumers will buy what they want or can Afford . If Countries that are Tariffed try to Raise the Prices of their Tariffed Goods to bet aroud the USA Tariffs , Trump could either reject their Goods with Sanctions , OR American Comsumers just won't buy them simple as that . The USA doesnt need alot of Products from other Countries Really . Those Countries need the USA Market More so they will comply with USA Demands eventually
2025-01-26 0
So punish Americans who buy goods from Columbia by making us pay higher prices... Really makes sense.
2025-01-26 2
I hear Americans are already bulk buying coffee. What a mess!

don’t judge too much. I’m not saying this is good for anyone that is living in ????. we already have a very bad housing crisis etc happening . but i definitely understand why they come.i have great empathy for them .. i feel horrible for them. these people aren’t lining up for black Friday deals or Taylor Swift tickets. these human beings are living in poverty, in danger in their own home countries. They want better for their children!! i’d actually question why they didn’t try for better (not actually, i have no right to judge them ..the lack of $ and danger would make most adults question if it’s the right thing to do). \nwe really need to remember...we aren’t special as human beings. we don’t deserve to live here more then they do. Our families just happen to cross the ocean(we weren’t even from the same land, like most of them, they want to cross a boarder that WE created) in the right decade, right century!! \nwe all came here and took from others. when we bought our land, built our homes, etc if you think back really it didn’t belong to them to sell it to us. It was stollen lands from the Native Americans. And we did such horrible things to natives for centuries!! we TOOK TOOK TOOK while nothing but destruction was given to them in return They are the REAL AMERICANS!!! \nAnd we killed them, we destroyed their communities, separated families, brought and spread diseases that killed thousands, kicked them off of their lands to go to areas we knew they couldn’t thrive, then we took their rights to hold & spend their own money, then stole that money that was to help them set up communities crops food and left them for dead !! we stole their babies from their mothers and fathers and we did this as recently as 50 years ago. \nso remember the day the first white man stepped on North American land was the last day we could say this was the land of the free !! \n\nwe have taken taken and taken from the ? fkd the world over.\nRemember..Americans are the reason south America has the dangerous gangs, cartels poverty, corruption, deaths we buy 40% of all drugs made there just one country buys 40%!! but why change things...when our leaders are benefiting hugely from the chaos. who cares about Mexican, South America families Just get them off our doorsteps ..right. ?\njust don’t think we aren’t Next !! ????

In addition to brining out the worst in Americans, Trump is now doing the same for Canadians. I guess I'd better go out and buy a pickup truck, some dogs and a gunrack. Y'all.

I just dont like the fact that people come here illegally from all over the world, use the system, send their kids to college. Then buy 5 homes,5 cars, two planes, with american money, then talk bad about america. This country made you,why go against it,its contradictive and evil.

Mexico is not the problem with Americans taking stupid drugs. \n\nThe problem is the greed that keeps Americans working like slaves. The bad nutrition that keeps Americans unhealthy. There was a study done on rats that if you give more sugar to rats they because dumber. Everything in most food products have a lot of added sugar. Guess who is hurting the American people first? \nWithout braincells Americans will do stupid things. You protect American people with good health and healthy products. \nStop selling prescription drugs as well teach the American people the truth. \nIf Americans were smart there would not be people buying stupid drugs from mexico.

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. If only there was a way for the system to allow people who really care about Canada to get a shot at being part of this beautiful country.\n\nThank you for making these videos.

Tariffs would collapse Mexico's economy. Watch Trump slap 100% across the board on Mexico. The peso would drop like a rock. No one would buy ANYTHING from Mexico. American companies IN Mexico would leave Mexico due to the fact Trump is dropping regulations which killed their businesses under the democrats so they would return. Also ending the reliance on foreign oil will drop the prices for consumers even more so American made products would be cheaper and better made again. Most of the industry is automated as well but American jobs would return so China and Mexico who work together would be kicking rocks. Trump is winning and he isn't even in office yet ?

Americans go buy drugs and transport from Mexico but AGAIN ITS AMERICANS BRINGING GUNS TO MEXICO AND BRINGS DRUGS OUT OF MEXICO. SO TRUMP KEEP A BETTER EYE ON AMERICAN CRIMINALS!!!!!

Lower prices?! Of course that would be nice. Economically speaking, that means that a vast number of people want deflation. It could work in an economy not dependent on excess and consumerism, but the US economy is propped up on speculation and buying out of want rather than need. Deflation is considered an economic failure in this country. We target 2% inflation for fear that without it, people will buy less now and then there will be a downward correction on output and then jobs. \nIn any case, broad tariffs won’t be the answer to lower prices. A global economy is an efficient one, but often unfair or unkind in specific localities. The US has benefited from globalization and low cost labor elsewhere for decades. But the pendulum swung too far and now many Americans are feeling left behind. Tariffs could bring back jobs but on a 5 to 10 year timeline, not one 4-year presidential term, much less in a year.

Say good bye to cheap cars. If you think cars were expensive after Covid wait till trump starts his plan. And you can say well, Americans will start buying American made cars, but since American made cars will go up in demand so will the price and no one b it the elites will win. Prepare to be more poor than before

America is showing their weakness...being uncompetitive on the world stage. Ill boycott any American goods and buy local thank you very much!

Mex Prez Sheinbaum is right. The drugs flow from and thru Mexico BECAUSE AMERICANS BUY THEM to consume them. Duh. Business success requires a market and Americans are the market for these drugs. Duh again. Is this drug use part of the appalling lack of brain power exhibited by voters this past election? They want a dictator who will starve, steal and harm them so they can suck up all the mind destroying drugs they can?

It seems to me better than punitive percentage tariffs is that each foreign country can buy American products first from tracked like product categories. The United States Counts how many units of that type of United States made product was bought first by a foreign  country. Then United States consumers, or companies are allowed to buy the same matching unit count of foreign products from like categories.  In this way no foreign company selling into the United States can fluid the United States Market with cheap foreign government subsidized goods. In this tracked unit count system of fair trade one American made unit sale for one foreign made like unit sale can take place.
2024-11-26 0
Is he going to charge tariffs to the cartels? Or maybe like he said, bring the manufacturing Companies here, American made, no more buying from other countries! Why doesn’t he offer that to the cartels and have them manufacture their drugs here?
2024-11-26 0
That can’t be good. Putting a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico could cause a lot of problems. First, they might fight back by adding their own tariffs on U.S. goods, which would hurt American farmers and businesses that sell products to those countries. It would also make things we buy, like cars and food, more expensive, which isn’t great for anyone.
2024-11-26 0
Americans are about to be taught just how tariffs work.. this will only hurt America ?? and I’m not buying anything from America ?? as long as Trump is in Power!! FOT!
2024-11-26 0
Mexico has been imposing tariffs on Americans, and Mexican’s, for taking their cars over there for a long time. \n\nYou have to pay for a permit, along with a hefty deposit (depending on the vehicle year), to cross your vehicle into Mexico. You can cross into the border towns, but if you want to drive further in, you have to pay. \n\nThis is done to eliminate competition, instead of letting the market dictate the pricing. And if you don’t return your permit, you don’t get your deposit back and lose the ability to cross any vehicles for life. No, how is that fair?!\n\nAnd you STILL see Mexican nationals buying vehicles here, and just paying the hefty tariffs, just to legalize their American vehicles in Mexico. \n\nWe can just start there, and do the same thing to them. I don’t think they’d like that one bit.

Since MAGA and Trump think of problems in a very simple and child-like way. How about Americans just stop buying and using drugs. That would fix the problem.
