I don't understand why the land of the free America has launched a trade war on its allies whilst sucking up to a murdering gangster in the Kremlin - I applaud Trudeau on his powerful speech against the malignant orange blob in the Oval Office - We in Europe back Canada against a MAGA fascist regime - We will boycott US business in solidarity with Canada - The EU & the UK will support you - The land of the free is not the USA.

If I were Russia, I would take advantage of this opportunity to make friends with the West and fill the gap left by the United States. Begin trading more than ever before, selling cheap energy, and doing anything to fill the void left by the US.

37T in US debt. We’ve been unfairly treated the past 60 years from unfair trades from the world and Trump was the only President to say “enough”. What’s fair when US pays tariffs on goods but we can’t charge other countries. Let’s make trades fair. No more charities to the world paid for by US taxpayers.

Presumably the whole point of tariffs on Canada is to raise revenues to cover the tax cuts for the oligarchs that he hopes will keep his or his family permanently in power. From that point of view it makes sense to put the tariffs on the biggest trade partners. The tax breaks the oligarchs get will allow them to buy up and control the media on his behalf. Nothing to do with fentanyl. That's just a lie that US citizens are stupid enough to swallow.

We Michiganders especially in the central and eastern UP and Detroit and Ann Arbor area are friends, coworkers, and family of Canadians. Some are even dual citizens. I’ve talked with a lot of Swedes the last weeks and large majority of them are done with the US. People are finding alternatives to mAmerican products and services and one family told me that they won’t proceed with their plans to spend this summer in Florida. Sweden supports Canada and we would love to increase trade and other kinds of exchange with you as we are permanently leaving the totally unreliable and morally corrupted rough state USA.

Maybe he should discuss the constant duty fees and border crossing fees for anything shipped from Canada to the USA that have been constantly rising for years; fees that his very own government sets. Maybe he should talk about Canada demanding that anyone that sells anything foodwise to anyone in Canada from the USA has to have a special Safe Food For Canadians Food License or the goods being shipped will be rejected at the US owners cost, seized by the border and held in storage at the US owners cost, and destroyed and billed to the US owner. A license that no one actually needs considering other legal and ethical controls are in place to prevent unsafe foods from crossing the border, but Canada reserves the right to make us pay for one or we suffer consequences. Maybe he should discuss how they left their borders open to migrants, making it much easier for criminal migrants to get into the US. Maybe he should understand that the US has always been bleeding money to Canada on a trade level for about half a century with it getting much worse in the last decade because Canada's government are greedy. Before any of you come at me, keep in mind I work in the food ingredient industry as an order processing, logistics and customs & border crossing and have done so for 15 years. These tariffs were a long time coming and if any of you are on the inside of trade in the manner I am, then you know what I'm saying is true. The US is constantly paying additional tariffs by way of duty fees, customs fees, certain applied taxes (like there is literally a blueberry tax to ship US grown blueberries into Canada to prevent US blueberries from taking over the Canadian blueberry market). The blueberry tax is about 25cents per lb. which drives the price per lb. up for the seller and buyer. You wanna know why Food costs so much? All of the above with a huge side helping of GREED.

From Canada: Sorry but we did this to ourselves by not growing our economy as we could have done, by not expanding energy and trade, by being led by a non-leader who panders only to the east and disrespects the west, who spends money like it’s on fire. All the power is centralized in Quebec, with the Bloc not even a federal GD party but somehow allowed to be a federal party, and Ontario and Atlantic Canada just loving a false sense of moral and intellectual superiority, and don’t forget transfer payments. And we have got ourselves into this Liberal government purgatory (thank God the Federal NPD have been decimated over it…at least there is some justice), so that we write cheques to make us feel good and look good despite that we can’t afford it. As a Canadian who lives in (largely French-speaking) Quebec, I don't know if our gov't even NEEDS to tariff American consumer goods, the people here are already boycotting US goods and companies en masse. EVERYBODY is doing it - and the pace isn't going to recede anytime soon. Even after the Orange Turd is long gone, trust me, Canadians will remember this! The American state has proven it cannot be trusted. They have unilaterally broken the trade agreement (negotiated by the previous Donald J Chump administration) on the flimsiest of reasons, the 00.2 % of fentanyl that flows over the border into the US from Canada. That deal now obviously not worth the paper it was signed on.

This is very scary. Again, what Trump is doing makes no sense - there is no economic or political sense to it. So what is he doing it for ?? To reduce our trade deficit? We have a huge deficit with Canada because we import so much oil from them, which our refiners require. On top of that we get Canadian oil for first cheap when compared to the global price mark for oil. This keeps US petroleum prices LOW! So okay if this is the issue, why not just find ways to improve the economics of U.S. oil production instead of smacking all Canadian imports with a 25% hammer ??? He has ulterior motives and it’s to weaken the American spirit and sell what he has on American to Russia. And our Congress isn’t doing anything !!!

We know why HE is doing this. He is pushing an imperialistic agenda, so he can be like those he admires. Canada needs the United States more than we need the Canadians. They have a 200 billion trade deficit with the US and just about everything we get from Canada, we can produce right here in our country. American car companies make shitty cars. They make cars that are too big, that don't make sense for European where streets can be very small and gas is very expensive. The US manufacturers don't make a single small car in thos country that can compete with European cars. US agricultural products are laced with poisonous chemicals that are outlawed in the EU because they kill people. Our governmeent doesn't give a shit about that because to grow healthy food means you have to cut profits, almighty dollars, instead of grow things that the rest of the world will accept. We have an idiot for president who thinks he knows more than anyone else and an idiot party that won't tell him the truth. This is going to cost us big time.
