As a Canadian who has lived in almost all the provinces and territories, all my life, I can tell you that a lot has changed as I think the best time or era was in the 1970's and you may have come at the worst time as the worst appears to be now when everything has become too expensive. The other problem relates to Canada, its size, the distances to travel, the smaller tax base with a smaller population than that of United States or India. This is not intended to provide excuses but most people here do not even have a family doctor as many doctors find greener pastures in the United States where the dollar is 30 percent higher in value and salaries are not limited to government health care. It is hard to change when American influence dictates much of what transpires. Homelessness hasn't been a problem but the last five years has provided more hardship for many who find it hard to cope with how things have become.

Outsourcing impacted badly on Canadian citizens. Those people come on work permit, day one they've job and the one who is Canadian and the victim of outsourcing, they've to search for the job and the worst thing before leaving the job you have to trained those outsourced people, they are 90% from India who hardly speak proper English. Is it fair for Canadian? And the people on work permit they can apply for citizen after certain amount of time. That's why people saying soon it become Canindia no more Canada. \nWhat is this rubbish? What happen to our children when they come in the job market.

Yes I agree Canada’s prosperity was build by emigrants but there is a “but” by emigrants from Italy, Ireland, emigrants from Eastern European countries skilled workers, housing was booming. Now Canada gets 1/2 million of Amazon workers from India, Home Depot, Pearson Airport. Canada use to be multi cultural now is becoming one culture.

Canada has become “Land of Hardship “ . Employment is hard to find to match your qualifications. There is no job security. You could be fired without proper explanation. Discrimination is always there though not openly. Specially in higher positions. Houses have become unaffordable. Food costs are rising every day. Waiting times in hospitals emergency is too long and getting worse. For surgery you have to wait months. My brother died by falling from stairs in his house while waiting for knee replacement surgery. Things are not getting better at any time. After working hard all your life when you retire your pension is not enough to live a comfortable lifestyle. With inflation your retirement becomes “hand to mouth “ life. After spending almost all my life in Canada my brother and friends in India have become much richer, happier and healthier than I am today.

You could not fit in the canadian society. You both had a problem at this. If india was so good, then you wouldnot have left india in the first place. Well -it is good you are gone. Other immigrants will get a chance at the jobs. Lots of punjabis come here with a good mindset and that is why they succeed eventually. 100% correct assessment. I am here for last 25 years, came with family leaving a good job at early forty. It is tough for 1st generation of immigrant but good for the next generation. There is opportunity of growth and success if become a canadian professional and hard/smart work habit. My children are wel settled now. So, if you are well off in india and not ready for facing tough life initial years, then pl.dont venture ,as to have better life in canada you need canadian education and the cdn. experience. Choices of lower educated are better in farming in rural areas. In urban areas, owning a car can become optional with careful planning. So, the provocative title in Hindi that coming to Canada is stupid, is a terrible conclusion. You have to consider your personal assets (education, health, skills), and your liabilities. Then you can make an educated decision, whether coming to Canada (urban, vs. rural), is good for you, or India is best for you? Terming one choice vs another stupid is full of giving wrong information, and being a zealot about your choices, while you do not have the full picture yourself.

My point of view....\nIn Canada no language barrier as compared to Europe. If you can communicate in English then it's very comfortable in Canada.\nEveryone is very hardworking, their weddings are simple.\nThey don't spend too much on clothes.....no show off.\nWe need to be more adaptable. \nNot to fuss to much over the food. Once they're Canadian citizens, they can apply for US green card and travel easily to America in the meantime. To be fair, why not the prospect student with a parent come to Canada for 2-4 weeks, check out the campus, ask around (current enrolled students). Second, stay and study in India, become a dr or a pharmacist (3yrs in India, Philippines etc vs 8 yrs in the US), any medical field and transfer over, being done since the 1950’s -ongoing in 2022, any dummy can pass the ECFMG, then start a residency.\n\nDubai has American universities (recognized no diff than physically in the US), Harvard and Michigan state are a couple examples. Victoria College in Alexandria, Egypt (possibly poorer than India), been there forever, AUB (American University of Beirut) recognized as an American college. Protest to have the Indian government to make US schools attractive for US universities to open campuses there. Private universities in the US (Catholic Jesuit colleges, Norte dame, Loyola, etc) charge the same tuition if ur a local or from South Asia.
