It's bizarre to me that there is such resistance to uphold our own values in this country when issues are brought up.

If you Muslims are so concerned about your safety, why don’t you attempt to assimilate into the Canadian culture? It is very disrespectful to the Canadian society that you Muslims make no effort to assimilate, or change to Christian religion.

A Canadian Immigration judge will notice immediately two main things about this guy: 1- No English having lived 15 years in the US & 2 - No specialized skilled labor or higher education. I grew up in BRAMALEA, now incorporated with Brampton. BRAMALEA was an idyllic community made up primarily of Brits, European, and African-Canadians. Then Justin’s Dad (Pierre) opened the floodgates of immigration in the ‘70’s to ensure his re-election while transforming Canada into a Socialist Society (Socialized “Free” Health Care paid for by mammoth taxes on the middle class) while promoting “Multiculturalism” as the new Canadian Utopia. In his later years, while close to death, Pierre declared that “Multiculturalism DOESN’T WORK!” And, guess what? Neither does “Free” Healthcare!” As each culture swelled, they felt as though they didn’t need to assimilate. When I return to Canada/Brampton to visit family, I’m disgusted! The Indian residents (who Now comprise about 90% of BRAMLADESH’s population) do NOT look after their housing/property. The older/original neighborhoods where I grew up (well-cared for homes with manicured lawns, lush green-belts with pathways connecting neighborhoods and parks) now borders on slum-like conditions. It’s sad and downright depressing when I visit. All of my high school friends have fled the dilapidated area, and no wonder! Canada’s lax immigration laws, failed “Multiculturalism” and Socialist welfare system have all destroyed Canadian culture AND their middle class (strangled by immense taxation). I was fortunate to have grown up in the BRAMALEA of old, but I am so blessed to have escaped when I did! ??

10 years for only 86% of people to start contributing and/or speak the language... That is not a good thing. You had to go back to the 70's to find a success story too? What does that say about the current situation? Asian Canadians tend to assimilate much better than other groups and it took a group of them a long time to do partially do so. All people who do not assimilate must be deported. As well as just stop immigration of Muslims all together. We are at full war. The people who controlled our countries back in WW2 understood that the citizens were number one priority and stopped all immigration of any ethnic background like Germans and Japanese. \n\nBut not all citizens were protected like the Japanese Canadians Americans and so on. The governments back then were very strict and careful. And did they have as much deaths of terrorism? No they did not!\n\nIslamic ideology is one of the most sickest and most anti-freedom things you can find anywhere. And its not a religion of peace. The peaceful majority are irrelevant.

If you don't want to assimilate and follow Canadian customs go back to whatever hellhole you crawled out of. Canada has a set of laws and WILL NOT allow sharia law to be practised. Maybe immigrants of colour would have an easier time if they actually acted like immigrants of past to this country, the Italians, Portuguese etc they came to Canada and they didn't ask for handouts like the ones who come these days from India, Sri Lanka etc who get on welfare. In the past they came with the intention of actually becoming Canadians and assimilating, the ones now come and all they want to do is create their own little old countries here in Canada.

While I understand the anxiety the Muslim woman in the video feels, her accent is as Canadian as it can be which tells me she probably was born in Canada or came here as an infant. She's obviously had enough time to assimilate. She either has or hasn't. If she has, she's being discriminated against for no other reason than that she's Muslim, which speaks to a mindset that is being espoused by Stephen Harper. When your leader says the things he's saying it doesn't speak well of the country. It would be more honest if he blocked all immigration of Muslims to Canada, but then the Muslims would really have a case if other nationalities were allowed in. Given Canada's small population they're kind of stuck.

As a older Canadian born and bred, but now in Europe because of marriage, I can see things farther toward the wall than most of you perhaps in Brandon, Thunder Bay, Charlottetown, Whitby, Kamloops, Red Deer, etc. This is extremely dangerous. A few muslims are o.k., as they may assimilate to Canadian values of 'PEACE, ORDER, and GOOD GOVERNMENT'. Yet most do not wish to assimilate, only to remain who they are, ungrateful of the bounty Canada offers them, and holding values against those our country has always promulgated. We have separation of church and state in Canada, and fought very hard for it, with a history of bloody wars in Europe to show for it. It is repulsive how we are allowing a bleeding of immigrants into our country who do not believe in our basic creed. This is not racial. This is not hate-based or prejudice. It is simply defending our creed as a country, from wherever you are, and whomever you are. Canada is worth defending. Where are the feminists on this? Why are you not defending Canada is this debate?
