She had not gone to school beyond 5th grade and she had no ancestral property, not even a red brick in her ancestral home. \n\nMy mother’s visitor visa was rejected and to this day — I am in my 70s now — it hurts me that she was not present when I received my PhD at Berkeley, one of the top-rated int’l universities. I've been to the states many times! My opinion is that Americans focus on wallets more than social issues! Americans care more about their own circumstances than working together to help the whole of the population. No one likes to pay more taxes but they are a nessesary evil to be able to pay for health care, public security, and so on! So sure Americans don't pay as much for some things but pay more for things that they shouldn't pay! Health care is something that is very important, how can you be expected to pay for health services if you can't work cause you're ill, doesn't make any sence! Even Americans leave thier country because of what it's becoming! 50- 100 years ago everyone wanted to immigrate to America or Canada, now a days everyone is immigrating here to Canada. Should I have to explain why! It's sad but the U.S.A isn't what it used to be. Mostly because of corporate greed and the influence it has on the gouvernment! Just look at how Trump is running things. A country isn't a bussiness, it's a people, without the people a country is nothing. Too bad Trump and his billionaire butt licking friends can't see that!

You had to figure some American president would ultimately say enough!\n\nAmerica has supported, defended, and offset the national defense costs of European nations for over seventy years, while EU countries and their leaders have routinely mocked and ridiculed Americans. Is it really classy to slap the face of someone who protects and supports you and your quality of life? No, it's not! Tariffs on EU products are likely coming soon, and reduced defensive support for Europe means they will have to pay more taxes for their defense and goods.

We each have our little flickers of time here... No one else will ever know much, if any, of what it is like to be who we are, and for the most part no one will ever really care. In all cases whatever the choice may be, we will only know the outcome of the one we take, and none we take will ever ultimately resolve the uncertainty of life. However, perhaps it is less about getting a potential course of life right, and more about attempting to do so with an effort of self honesty and virtue. To live a life that can be looked back on with the knowledge that some of our decisions were wrong in their effects, but right in their intention of not selling ourselves short. Ultimately no matter what we do or say or believe, there will always be a great many who disagree, or judge, or become upset by our decisions. It is of essential importance that we ensure that among those people, we are not one of them.

First let me say that I fully support anyone who is fully physically capable of doing whatever job that they are either enlisted to do or has been assigned to do within the military. \n\nIn a time where special forces doesn't mean bulked up freakishly high endurance or specific physical requirements are necessary.\nSpecial ops nowadays is also about mental acumen and ability to assess the entire picture and it is absolutely well known that certain physical factors are required to be on the front lines but to remove a very capable force that is a force multiplier in a time where it's absolutely needed and cannot be replaced quickly or even adequately is doing a massive disservice to our military and the citizens of this country just for the sake of a small group of individuals with small minds that couldn't step into that vacant position and adequately fill it with the same caliber of talent regardless of how they identify themselves!\nBeing the most lethal fighting military requires many talents and to remove those talents from the soldiers they support is absolutely hurting our military in ways that will take decades to rectify!\nThat soldier on the ground calling in drone strikes to get his or her soldiers out of the danger isn't going to care if they are trans or identify as LGBTQ only that they are able to safeguard their soldiers in whatever way they have been trained to do..\nOur military needs to be the most diverse in order to be the most lethal in the most diverse situations throughout the worlds stages!

Nice wording. Illegal migrants actually, who took a risk crossing illegally. Many are criminals with long lists of convictions, and are mostly men. Migrants who came honestly are just fine. Honest refugees with a real case - not just people claiming refugee status for economic opportunity (which should be punishable with jail time) are just fine. Canada should do the same.

I earned my permanent resident status back in 2001 and joined US ARMY during war in terror and served for 8 years. While serving, I was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in the middle of hot zones, dodging grim reaper's radar for many, many times. When I finally earned my US citizenship through military, I seamlessly transitioned into law enforcement career in New York for past 10 years, which I encountered with many illegal criminals with rap sheets- which some makes you think why they are still wondering in the street instead of locked up in the jail, having their freedom taken away. What is funny is that many of these illegal criminals have such an entitled mindset that they are deserve to be here in US without permit do whatever they want and enjoying these unbelievable benefits that these sanctuary city/state provides that we, us citizens don't even get- and we are paying for it with our hard earned money. I think I earned my citizenship with blood and sweat, same goes to many immigrant hopefuls that came to U.S with true American dream. It is time to take back our country and I 100% support with Trump's decision on this.

I don't understand why India has to be so reliant on foreign countries. Especially with so many young and talented kids joining the workforce. Indians are smart people, and are bright and talented, and should focus on making work/life conditions better in their own country and focus on the growth of their own country. It's not like we lack intelligence, or culture, or values. I don't like this constant feeling of rejection if visa gets denied to move to a foreign country. Oh we can quadruple our income in a foreign country and send money home. Make changes in India to facilitate that, and not have to feel reliant on a foreign country to make that happen. Seeing a doctor in the emergency depends on how urgent your situation is. In 2023, I broke my left humerus--the bone in the upper arm. My sister took me to Sacré-Coeur Hospital, which is a teaching hospital. At triage the nurses thought my shoulder was dislocated so they sent me for X-rays even before registration, and at the most, I waited about 20 minutes in the waiting room before I was sent to an examination room. When the emergency specialist came in, I told him about pain between my shoulder blades and a feeling of oppression in my chest. So in addition to dealing with my broken arm, he prescribed blood tests that revealed I had had a small heart attack, and he kept me ovrnight. The next day an angiogram was performed and the cardiologist installed two stents in my heart artery, and I spent two days and two nights in the cardiology unit. I don't dare to imagine how much that would have cost me in your country, but also, many people go to the emergency for things like the flu because they don't have a regular doctor to go to, and of course, for stuff like that you are going to wait a long time. Unless there aren't many patients ahead of you.
