Everyone thinks that this is Canada standing up, but what this means is that the Canadians with our economy that is 1/10 that of the US will be taxed at 25% on our imports, this is going to hurt canadians way more than the retaliatory terrifs will hurt the americans. This may also lead to an escalated response from the US exacerbating the effect. Trudeau and others can't seem to grasp that there may be a long term strategy from Trump and this is playing into it. \n\nThe truth of all of it is that Trump does not like Justin Trudeau or the Liberal government.

Everyone who talked nonsense about Trudeau, the Carbon Tax and jumped on the Pollievre bandwagon please open yourselves and your hearts to your fellow Canadians and fellow human beings by seeing the danger, heartache and awful consequences that have resulted from MAGA rhetoric, Trump's election and recognize the need for Canada to come together and stand behind leaders that will keep Canada's (and the world's) best interests in mind, and not stand behind a wannabe leader like Pollievre that will sell out Canada and worsen this situation beyond repair ❤?????

I am still at a loss and feel very unsettled that Donald Trump was elected president. His presidency is marked by retaliation and actions that are ego boosting for him. I do not understand caring about the dollar value of a home unless one is planning on selling. The only value of my home that I care about is that it provides me with a rent-free place to live that I own outright. To me, increasing the value of my home just increases my property tax without providing me with any greater benefits. \n\nDoes everyone in Canada plan on selling their homes?

Trudeau is extremely impressive in government actions and in communicating as simply as possible to the people of USA, to explain what is happening and to implore that they pressurise their rotten Trump government. This is an attack on a very friendly government with 25% tariffs on everything but just 10% on China?? This is an attack to try to destabilise Canada to help in taking the country over. The USA president Trump wants everything to be manufactured and sourced locally from the United States of America. He knows what happened during COVID-19 and what problems the world experienced because of a global supply chain. Now while it doesn't really make sense with Canada who is right next door the Canadians were given the opportunity to integrate into the USA so there could be some motive in that. I think a lot of people assume that countries like Canada aren't capitalist behemoths like the U.S. because we can't be - but it's because we don't WANT to be. Largely, the population wants to succeed by ways that don't make everyone else suffer, because a rising tide raises all boats. \nSoon, the wealthy American will have to reckon with the fact that a desperate and underemployed, oppressed, poverty-imposed public costs more in the long run. What would be interesting to know is how trade between Canada and Europe explodes, Europe would like all the oil and gas and rare earthminerals Canada has, so would China, if for nothing other than to prevent Americas access to it.
