I am American and I am so ashamed. So many of us did not want this.

Watching this is amazing. I'm no fan of Trudie, but right now he's doing alright.\nI hate to tell the Americans watching, we did try to tell you and personally I feel for less than half of your people. The fact that the blue leaning public had to so dumb as to use THIS election to show your dissatisfaction with Biden and Harris is leading many people around the world to wonder if America is even worth worrying about at all. How can you's be this stupid you're no better than the MAGA crowd.

❤ Canada. We, the sane, non-MAGAt Americans, also do not want this, nor did we vote for this because we did NOT vote for an obviously mentally ill, functionally illiterate, elderly man with signs of dementia, whose main function besides destroying our country to enrich himself & all of his millionaire & billionaire buddies, is acting as a useful idiot pain for Putin. We, the Americans who value what our country has stood for, whose fathers & and grandfathers fought in both World Wars, who lived in the time before all of the current vaccines existed, who believe in equality, who value the immigrants--documented or undocumented, who believe our country should welcome them & make their paths to citizenship easier because we understand how our country & economy benefit from them living in this country, who understand & value the roles that the WHO, NATO, & the United Nations have played in keeping us ALL safer for many decades bc we REMEMBER or were told by our parents, what it was like b4 those things existed, who either lived thru The Great Depression or had parents & grandparents did, understand what the economic crisis that Trump & his band of greedy ahole idiots are deliberately causing. WE didn't do this. WE fought against it. We tried to explain & warn people about what is happening & what will happen, but you didn't EFFING LISTEN. WE are ANGRY. WE will NOT help any of you who caused this & this includes every MSM who is too afraid to speak truth to power. Start doing that NOW. Start with THIS: It's called The Gulf of Mexico, NOT the Gulf of America. Eff every Trump supporters & GOP politician--at EVERY level of government. Trump can TRY to hide what he's doing to the economy in his stupid reports. Do you honestly believe the average American pays attention to those? No, most are too busy worrying over how to pay their bills & all they'll see is that their situation is getting worse. They can't find a job. They can't afford gas. They can't afford groceries. You can't cover any of that up. WE stand with Canada, Ukraine, the EU, & every other ally nation. Not Russia. Putin can go straight to hell & the sooner the better.

I stand with Canada. Many Americans like myself are disgusted and appalled by our president.

Great, unambiguous words by the Canadian president! But one of his remarks stood out: he said that the tyrants want to divide us. He is correct, of course. But the implications are profound! This means that Trudeau himself is measuring his words and deliberately using diplomatic language. He even says that Trump is “intelligent”, which only plays into the imbecile’s unfortunate NPD psychology! The unwillingness to stand strong against American tyranny is harming democracy worldwide! Force Trump to declare a side! And make him choose Putin or democracy NOW!! If you fail to do that, you are taking the path of accommodation, and if Trump is really a tyrant (which he surely is, because of MANY evidences!!), democratic countries weaken their position by not standing strong NOW. If Europe and Canada and Mexico ban Tesla imports and place 50% tariffs on tens of billions of dollars of American products, what would happen? Are these countries AFRAID of the United States? This is not the time for fear! This is the time for courage! Boycott!!!

American here - Doesn't it say something about our own government when so many of us are cheering in support of boycotts and tariffs imposed on us?

This’ll adversely affect the world, and will do nothing to reduce the nearly $2 trillion deficit. tRump’s tax cuts for the wealthy, and fElon Musk’s austerity measures will, and already are raising unemployment, and will further increase the divide between the wealthiest and most marginalized among us.\nThe U.S. siding with Russia, the two countries having the biggest nuclear stockpiles, is a threat to the world.\nIf WW3 starts, it won’t be because Zelenskyy won’t act to end a war in which his country was unnecessarily invaded, it’ll be because of Russia’s invasion of it, and the U.S. turning its back on its now former allies.\nThose of us in the states who oppose tRump and his alliance with Putin need to continue to stand up, speak out, and perhaps even do more. We’ve never seen anything like this before. Hate to say it, but this could very well be the beginning of the end of what was once a great nation. I’ll end this with a quote from FDR.\n“The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power.”

It is shame absolute shame that the new American Adminidtration is doing this to canada and infact many nation. This blind move doesn't help Amerca at all but for sure hurts majority of American leaving the super richs

Trump is a total disaster for all Americans except the $Billionaires. But it wasn't the $Billionaires who voted Trump into office, it was the millions of MAGA Morons, the very people who are now losing their jobs in thousands as Musk takes an axe to everything. Tariffs on America's main trading partners means that the American consumers, many of them MAGA Morons, are going to be hit a lot harder in the pocket as prices on their goods rocket. As an American, I stand with Canada. I am worried, but someone needs to stand up to Trump. I am sorry that it is not the US. So many people still support him and I just don’t understand it.

I'm Canadian. And in my 50s. We've always tended to joke back and forth about stereotypes from our countries. I've always felt we looked up to American ideals ideas and this is why we felt strong to stand with America with many things. I've sometimes not been happy with our Prime Minister but he left a mark, and I'm proud our country is more united but I'm sad at what cost. I hope this is short lived.. Need an immediate 50% tax on Americans buying Canadian real estate. Prices are already dropping in many areas and with the low dollar, easy pickings for Americans to ‘invest’ in real estate.

Just curious why so many support Canada as Americans? If you look at the spending and trade throughout the world, America and Americans have been footing the bill for a long time. What exactly is wrong with America putting America first and getting a fair deal with the rest of the world we do business with? Watching in Hungary/Slovakia: Amazing speech - hope it's understandable also to many Americans. They need to understand it before they feel the impact of Trump's trade war w/ his frm allies. As an American citizen who has seen through all of Trump's lies, abuses, and racism since the 1980s, I am sadly amazed that so many of my fellow citizens have bought into his transparent disregard for our nation, it's people, and the world at large. Trump has created a rift of division unparalleled in our history. At the same time, the world at large has never seemed more united. Until this dark era passes and my nation returns, I will take strength in being a citizen of the world.

I'm American, I'm cheering for Canada. Our government has broken its word to yours. I do not believe that Trump's actions represent the wishes of most Americans but many of them DID vote for him (and the utterly spineless Congressional Republicanswho enable him) and all of us are going to pay the price, quite literally.

Canada and America should work together. Trudeau is the only one talking about a trade war. Think about that... Trump imposed reciprocal tariffs on many countries who later came to the Whitehouse and invested billions to bring business here. Canada has enjoyed the American gravy train for long enough. Just look at the comparison between how much money goes into Canada and how much of that America actually sees a return on.
