Canada is not accepting international students. It’s only accepting Indian students who only come as students for PR. They don’t even care for the degree at all as long as they complete the minimum required for applying for PR

$17k for international students, $2k for Canadians. The Government is creating this environment to tip the scales of the voter demographics, NEW IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT TO BLAME, it's the Schools and Government doing this for cash. Previous Generation of Indians have worked hard in this country, bad apples should be deported, most will be hard working. I entered college few yrs before covid and barely any international students were there. When I graduated not too long ago holy hell the campus is full of Indians. Insane numbers and they keep bringing in more people than they can hold. So corrupt how this country is full of lobbyists and politicians who only want to feed the rich and foreigners while discarding their own

Canadian from Indian immigrant parents here, we do not hate our own people before I'm accused of anything like this. It's just obvious the amount of immigration we have is unsustainable and not particularly productive for the economy (the vast majority of immigrants are international students who end up working long term at places like tim Hortons). I think if we went back to allowing professionals to immigrate it would reduce a lot of the hatred towards the immigrants who I also don't blame for such a corrupt system squarely aimed at reducing expenses for the top 1% of Canadians

I’m a Canadian and my wife is an immigrant for Punjab and even she thinks this is all getting out of control. She came here to start a new life with me after we met and to get away from Indian culture which she thinks is now seeping into everything. In India it’s survival of the fittest, one must do everything they do and take advantage of everything in order to scrap by. I am Canadian and I work in an area with a lot of foreign student labour. This is an accurate summary of the situation. I have some college education, and I noticed many Indian students are going to private colleges a distance away. I believe the colleges aren't properly vetting these students in order to allow more in and collect more money from them. International students pay more to go to school in Canada. These young people unfamiliar with a western education system don't understand things aren't being done properly, but the bad reputation of these schools gets around and these students credentials are worthless. It's sad considering families frequently go into debt to send their kids to Canada. Mass Immigration is ruining housing in Canada because not enough building happend to house the sudden population increase. Canadians access to services such as health care is hindered by the population iincrease. Something as simple as the common language spoken in the country has changed. It is true if the goverment changes the people in the country the goverment has changed the country.

Majority of the students who came after the pandemic were business professionals who took the pandemic as an opportunity to get back to education. They chose Canada because of its beauty and friendly people. The reality of which is they paid 3 times as much tuition as a Canadian, got abused at their work place for bare minimum wage. They paid a hefty price for a degree that no country recognizes. Its funny how your PM cashed your CERB cheques with the cash of international students. Its sad how Indian students follow the legal process to enter your nation and get hate for being illegals. Students who have a CRS score 500+ struggle to make a living while your government provides easy immigration by asylum to people who themselves burned their countries down. Its sad to be in a nation where getting a call connected to the CRA takes more time than getting political asylum. Your government spends your tax money on asylum seekers and their 6-7 kids who come with them and not international students. We bring money to your nation. 7 billion dollars is what the students bring your nation every year, while your PM sends 5 times as much to fund someone else’s war. You put a communist dictator to represent you and you are paying its price. Darker days lie ahead for Canada and they have nothing to do with Indian students.

I am from India , 80 % of these Indians are from the states of Punjab, Gujarat and Hariyana and they mostly come to Canada with IELTS and degree certificates obtained via improper channels . I have hardly seen any one of them actually take a serious effort towards education . Canada is doing a very bad job filtering international students. The smart ones are being absorbed by the USA, predominantly from Southern India; while Canada mostly attracts the lower tire group from North India with lower productive value to economy.

The amount of money international students specifically indian students invest in getting admissions and visa here, is the amount of money they can use to get very rich education without even working and just studying and staying in a good hostel with food there in India. So, clearly they are not coming here for education, the primary goal is somehow to become a permanent resident of canada.

No international student(or Indian) will come to Canada if there is no route to PR. Do you think Canadian colleges and universities are very high in the ranking list? Not at all. So imagine if students only had the option to return home after graduation, none will come to Canada and the economy will suffer. International students exploitation is happening on the federal level, then why bother with Provincial and colleges? These are temporary visas but ultimately, PR(settlement in a new country) is the goal, otherwise these students will not pack their lives and come over here.\n\nReference: I came to Canada in 2022 and left in early 2024. There are many reasons why I left but one I felt was the demographic shift and the amount of refugees that country accepts. Additionally Canada needs to raise the bar on the quality of people coming in. International students are coming to Canada stealing all the entry level jobs that are supposed to be for students that are born here. Studying in Canada is a trap. The standards of universities and colleges do not meet the job market requirements. The PGWP (Post-Graduation Work Permit) and PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) systems are traps for international students, giving them false hope that they can get PR (Permanent Residency) if they do certain things. These programs just bring in money for colleges and universities. Students borrow loans to study at these institutions. 1) The Indian government should ban student loans for studying in Canada. The Australian system is much clearer and more transparent, and it does not fluctuate like the stock market. 2) Canadians should come forward and tell the Indian media or directly inform people in India that Indians are not welcome, because many in India are unaware of this, and by the time they realize, it’s too late. 3) An easy way to get Canadian PR is to declare Themself a Khalistani supporter. .......Protest of Khalistan is okay but not okay for Visa extension

Did anyone think why is it so. If there are too many students, that is because the local colleges are greedy and want a lot international students to come in and pay higher fees. If there are too many indians, again, it is because CIC which does the screening for immigration application approves a lot of indian immigrant applications. Is it because they cannot find applicants from other countries or even if they do, may be indian applicants are more capable than other immigrant applicants? Something to think about. And what is the role of Mr Trudeau. He seems to be wanting more immigrants.

What Canada NEEDS is AFFORDABLE Housing for the working poor, OW, ODSP and get the homeless who want housing.\n\nAll Pubic Colleges and Universities should be AUTOMATICALLY adding a housing cost for International Students. This way these foreigners aren't creating housing problems for the local community. So Colleges and Universities should be buying property within REASONABLE DISTANCE from their Campuses that are only for CURRENT STUDENTS actually taking classes. \n\nThe Government needs to be RESPONSIBLE for LOW INCOME housing. More people are finding themselves unable to take care of themselves. Which leads to severe drug abuse and homelessness.\n\nNew Development should be required to be the most effective version and sustainable version of Green. 15% of the apartments should be for low income, OW, ODSP and Elderly. This will help the Government properly plan out Public Housing across each Province and Territories.\n\nThe next question is why are all these East Indians who aren't becoming TRUSTWORTHY doctors, nurses, business owners competing to live in Parkdale, Toronto versus the East Indian Hubs in Ontario.

Im glad that international student Job hours were dropped to 20h a Week. I definitely seen a drop at work. Few years ago we'd get High School Students who get Summer Jobs. To gain some Money, Experience to help prepare themselves. Now past 2 years We Got none which i found it Odd. Then noticed 90% of the Coworkers are Indian!

Why should Canadians support Indian international students? If you want support, finish your studies and go back to India and do not use the student/work visa route to never return. If your genuine intention to come to Canada was to study then once finished return home.

As a hindi speaking Indian I.T. professional, I don't understand why Punjabis, Gujaratis, and Tamil Indians are always dying to move to Canada? I lived in Canada and didn't find Canada all that great. I'd say America is a far better country than Canada. Most of these international students belong to the sikh community from northern india (punjab). Not all indians are like this, mostly sikhs because they are large scale fraudsters. India even asked the Canadian government to extradite these criminals back because most of them (khalistanis) are wanted in India for criminal charges...Canadian gov let them in and gave them safe passage. International student program was a disaster to start with.\nFunny thing is Indians like myself were opposing this program. \nAnother part of this disaster is that 90 percent of these students are from only 1 province in India.\nSend them back.\nThis immigration has damaged the social thread of canada.

Being an Indian immigrant myself (now a citizen), this is absurd. There's rules to follow. There's 3 problems as I see:\n1) The structure of the Canadian economy - heavily dependent on services, natural resources and real estate. Due to this Education has become a business. Colleges, Universities & Diploma Mills are more than happy to admit international students who pay 3 times the normal fees. \n2) Lack of a screening process - not taking in immigrants based on skill and education.\n3) Taking in too many immigrants from 1 ethnicity & region - the Indian state of Punjab, a region suffering from drug epidemic, alcoholism and crime. Not sure why you'd want low quality immigrants. If you notice all the protestors here are Punjabis. Canadian immigration is business in Punjab. Many immigration consultants here in Canada are Punjabis and have business links back home.

I talked with my Indian friend who is working at Tim’s now. I said,” I'm not an Indian international student, do I have the chance to work in your branch”? He said no! I understand that they want to help their people overseas, but it also breaks the diversity as well. You go to Walmart, Tims most of them are Indians. I told him even though the Chinese supermarket and the restaurant hired Indians, I had never seen any Indians hire Chinese in here. I don't want to say this is discrimination, It is just about order and fairness.

I’m an international student from China and I never worked here. My Indian classmates ruined our final project. Wearing slippers for presentations and even cannot finish a simple website, my roommates are Indians as well, and they are all good. But some students they’re not come here to study, just for work. But just keeping the balance between study and work, will make other students have bad experiences. I also want to get the PR here, but it depends on my abilities and other factors. I love country music, K-pop, and pop Jazz, I watched a documentary about Canada before I came, and I was a volunteer at the London Air Show, Comic Con, Food Bank and Ronald Macdonald House. In addition, I also help the Church group make posters and videos. You come here is to integrate local culture and accept the rules and order, you can keep your own identity a features. Don’t forget you are a foreigner, you are the guest now.

Thank God someone cover this thing. I am Indian Sikh moved here with my parents in 2021 and we are permanent Resident. I am disable so my parents thought it would be a great country in terms of opportunities but you know what I have not get any job because wherever I went for interview, there are so many international students looking for job as well. \nBring a citizen, it’s very heartbreaking that other who don’t have PR , still getting jobs.

I'm an international student form Nicaragua, and I'm doing my best to contribute to this country since day 1. And I'm looking to stay in this country not to take advantage of anything, but to contribute and give way more than I have received here. It's just not fair that we are being affected by Indians, the government should apply measures according to each situation from each country of origin. Indians are the abusers of the system, not us that we are the real minority here trying to earn our place here but just our pure honest effort.

The Liberal government will likely find some form of permit extension for about a year or 2, because to initiate any form of deportation will look bad politically. They will leave the problem for the Conservative government to deal with knowing it will be difficult to depart hundreds of thousands of international Indian students/temporary foreign works (and other people groups), and manipulate the situation to gain political capital.
