I hope Canada and the EU can get closer, and set up trade of most of our natural resources with them BEFORE Trump get yelled at to change things so theyre extra screwed. Watching in Hungary/Slovakia: Amazing speech - hope it's understandable also to many Americans. They need to understand it before they feel the impact of Trump's trade war w/ his frm allies. welcome to European life pay tax for everything, in EU we pay 20-30% of VAT and up 50% of our salary go to gov.. so yeah we poor in EU as we pay up to 70%-80% in taxes (depends on EU country) but basically yeah happy life.. basically we pay for healtcare and universities , so that 3rd world people could get free education .. I hope someone like trump will take wheel of EU.. there is no place for liberalism in future..

Under normal circumstances I would be the last person to support our Liberal party; especially Trudeau. His past record speaks for itself. However, his talk today to the American people and Trump actually made me feel proud to be a Canadian. It was the harshest language I have heard him use towards Trump especially after enduring weeks of degrading talk from Trump in relation to calling Trudeau a governor. I hope that the Liberals follow through with protecting Canadians.

I'm European and I really can't understand how you can make an economic trade war with an ally like Canada, a close and so friendly neighbor.... A dumb decision not only for the W Post... As an American and a Trump supporter, I agree with these tariffs, but only equal to the tariffs other countries charge the United States on our imports. I do not agree with imposing this on our brothers and sisters to the north. I’m speaking of the good people of Canada. I have traveled to Canada and crossing the border was just like crossing into another state. Yes, there was a border gate which there should be, but I had absolutely no problem whatsoever. I hope our government can work this out very quickly and stop this foolishness. But to countries like China and Europe the United States should charge a reciprocal tariff as to what you charge us on our import. It’s only fair. Why are we paying an exuberant tariff for our goods entering your country and you expect to pay nothing with your goods entering ours. Most Americans, love Canada and love our Canadian brothers and sisters, we’ve always supported each other in world, wars, and other attacks against our respective countries. I pray this is resolved quickly, and then we can once again live United and in harmony.

As a German, I can only say, great country. My son studied in Canada for a year. He was given such a warm welcome. Thank you. The import taxes are nonsense.
