It’s not only refugees in the streets…During summer most homeless people choose to sleep in the parks coz the weather is good and then as the weather changes they go back to the shelters..\nThere has been a lot of refugees coming to the country..now imaging adding those number of refugees plus the homeless people trying to go back to shelters..it became overwhelming \nBut this is all part of an ecosystem..\nIt starts with the lack of housing in the city..there are more people than the city can hold..\nThis leads to the people who are in shelters not being able to move to their own apartments (which the government helps them pay for) and if they don’t move out they can’t be able to create space for the homeless to move into shelters.\n2. However since that second TikTok was shot (the one with the mayor talking). The government has released an additional $210 million to help with housing refugees and therefore I think the situation is getting better now

All I can say after 12+ years in Germany ?? ( just like I always tell people on my channel), people have to learn and accept that much as there are opportunities in first world nations, you must work hard and strategically ( integrate, acquire knowledge) for you to be able to make it.\n2-As regards Canada just like in Europe, the countries are overwhelmed especially as a result of the Corona pandemic and inflation.\n3-If you relocate illegally, you are definitely going to have it very rough!\n\nUnfortunately people are being scammed because they are desperate and ignorant! It truly breaks my heart and I hope through awareness and empowerment, we can educate people.

I used to live maybe a block away from where you used to live in Toronto, I moved to a different city around the time that Rob Ford became mayor I can’t remember what year that was. We couldn’t afford to stay in Toronto after our landlord sold our unit and the new owners wanted to live there, so we moved to a more affordable city. I was really shocked at the massive increase in the number of homeless people in the city that weren’t able to find space at a shelter, I had to ask my sister if I had missed news of a reanimated occupy Wall Street movement, because that was the last time that I had seen that overwhelming a volume of displaced people camping in the parks. I hope that some sort of solution can be found to massively increase the quantity of safe warm and free to the occupant shelters in Toronto before winter.

Our 1st priority is to take care of our homelwss veterans. These immigrants shoul be last on the list. Biden is failing our Americans who need help & resources. Men & women who fought wars & terrorist to secure freedom for others. Yet the govt. is putting immigrants 1st. When our own citizens should be the actual priority !! \nAll these people from South American countries feel like we should take care of them. Well . . HELL NO WE OWE OUR OWN PEOPLE WHO TRULY, DESPERATELY NEED ASSISTANCE. NEW YORK CITY IS BEING OVERWHELMED BY IMMIGRANTS. THE CITIZENS OF N.Y.C. ARE BEING NEGLECTED BY RHE GOVT & BIDEN. WE HAVE HOMELESS VETS & CITIZENS WHO ARE IN NEED OF SERVICES. SEND THE IMMIGRANTS TO THEIR HOMES !!! IT DEFINITELY AINT AMERICA !!!!

you may be overestimating how immigration of immigrants makes the city so much better. this policy also brings some negatives in terms of number of poor people, number of people overwhelming the 'free stuff' from govt, forcing a housing shortage which drives up price, give left govt unlimited power to increase taxes on everything..... so forces change, but not always for the better - tho some positives.

This situation is heartbreaking. The Venezuelans are fleeing a collapsed country and are in a vulnerable situation. The US although wanting to help, must also protect it's own interests. If an African professional from Nigeria regrets coming to Canada you that you've come to frozen outhouse that simply won't give you the opportunity to make your dreams come true. European immigrants that come to Canada end up going back home because the cost of living will overwhelm your income and maintain you in poverty. TLDR the US immigration system works overwhelmingly in the American's interest. The Canadian one, not so much, as it does not put Canadian workers as first priority with the lack of a PERM labour certificate system.

Some are trying to reunite with family, some are fleeing poverty and feel America is the best place to come up but it's those that are fleeing violence that concern me. We can't take on the world in one nation only to have some immigrants globally thumb their noses up at our traditions, rights we had to fight for, housing we need etc. The sad fact is running to America isn't the Answer. We fight the Middle East who will never change but we need to turn our attention to Mexico, the island nations and South America.
