It's truly unfortunate that this is all caused by 1 person, who no longer has a system of checks and balances on him. I feel our relationship with the U.S has come to an end. We need to have closer ties with our friends in Europe, and secure more trade deals with the EU and Great Britain.

I am still at a loss and feel very unsettled that Donald Trump was elected president. His presidency is marked by retaliation and actions that are ego boosting for him. We have no investment or tourism in BC, no foreign buyers, almost no airbnb, no fruit, soon to be no wine, but at least we have free drugs and 2000 genders, right Provincial NPD? That will help the bank account. And we have no respect for Alberta’s riches that benefit EVERYONE. All the power is centralized in Quebec, with the Bloc not even a federal GD party but somehow allowed to be a federal party, and Ontario and Atlantic Canada just loving a false sense of moral and intellectual superiority, and don’t forget transfer payments. And we have got ourselves into this Liberal government purgatory (thank God the Federal NPD have been decimated over it…at least there is some justice), so that we write cheques to make us feel good and look good despite that we can’t afford it. Under normal circumstances I would be the last person to support our Liberal party; especially Trudeau. His past record speaks for itself. However, his talk today to the American people and Trump actually made me feel proud to be a Canadian. It was the harshest language I have heard him use towards Trump especially after enduring weeks of degrading talk from Trump in relation to calling Trudeau a governor. I hope that the Liberals follow through with protecting Canadians.

As a Canadian, I didn’t vote for Trudeau but I have to hand it to him, he has expressed the thoughts and feelings of the majority of Canadians very well. Canadians are generally pretty laid back and easy going, often too polite for our own good. However, as the Americans in 1812, the Germans in WW1 and WW2, the Chinese and North Koreans in the Korean War and the Taliban in Afghanistan found out we don’t shy away from a fight when we are provoked.
