This is addressed mainly to the ugly Indian: My generation came to the racist west and built a golden reputation. We worked hard, assimilated, paid our taxes, and obeyed the laws. We were humble. We celebrated our native cultures within the confines of our communities. While it was frustrating to be invisible in white culture, we never sought to conquer them with our culture. We were ethical to the hilt. Our generations were poor -- yet we struggled to help others in India and in the west. We were NEVER on the dole. Personally I think it is rude to enter a nation (in the west or anywhere in the world) with naked opportunism. Speaking for myself -- despite neocolonialism, I admired western civilization, especially its older forms. \n \nBut the ugly Indian who comes now is loud, brash, socially irresponsible, exploitative, money-hungry, opportunistic, and arrogant beyond belief (full of the hubris that comes from sudden new wealth). They look down on us who have been here a while. They are used to a servant-culture and look down on white working class people, as if they are servants. As for second generation Indians in the west, they can be racist towards us first generations. But the opposite is true as well. Indian newcomers see them as an alien species. Indians do tend to hire their own and stick to their own identities -- I do not mean the Indian identity, but their native state identities. All this feeds into the primary and secondary forms of western racism that are already simmering beneath the surface. This new genre of Indians is destroying the goodwill we have built. I don't understand why India has to be so reliant on foreign countries. Especially with so many young and talented kids joining the workforce. Indians are smart people, and are bright and talented, and should focus on making work/life conditions better in their own country and focus on the growth of their own country. The reality is that in India?? you don't get well paid jobs if you are poor performer in terms of education , here the good salary is for those who either crack some good entrance exam for IITs,NITs,IIMs etc or to those who have some guts to secure a government jobs ..and believe me the living standards and the respect you get after earning 50k to 1lakh per month in India is far better than cleaning toilets??, carpenter?, Driver?,and other low grade unskilled jobs in Canada as an Indian

As an NRI for a decade in Germany, I can assure you that not a single person in the developed western world looks at India with a nicer opinion. They think of it as a necessary baggage. They will only allow Visa on Arrival/E-Visa for people whom they respect and would like to be in the country. While I do not want to get into how some Indians behave when they are on their EU trip, Indians in India do not behave well too. This involves hygiene, roads, infrastructure, intelligence, corruption, etc. Indians tend to look at the Indian flag with tears in their eyes while listening to A.R. Rahman’s “Vande Mataram” with Bharat Bala’s video. But the reality in the western world is this: India is a loud, messy, unhygienic, poorly organized country filled with corruption and crime everywhere. Now, why would a well-developed country open their doors to potentially unruly 1.4 billion people? The reason for visa rejection is that a lot of them simply apply for a tourist visa and never leave. If someone really needs to travel, they will have the money and the motivation to apply multiple times. Hence, the first check with multiple layers of bureaucracy.

If Indian IT was so dang awesome, you'd think they'd be visionaries in the field, but nope, by and large, Indians consume; they do not invent, but rather implement existing technologies, and have little to offer to the world in terms of scientific and technological breakthroughs at present - with some exceptions.

I’m an Indian passport holder living abroad due to personal reasons. I’m eligible for the citizenship of a country that most people would dream to get but I do not like to apply for the same because then I would have to renounce my Indian citizenship (India does not allow dual citizenship). Indians themselves are responsible for visa rejections because most of our people (not all) go under the disguise of tourists with the intention to settle in that country. What kind of treatment would you expect then? I came legally and despite never compromising with my cultural values, I have always felt welcomed in the country that I live in. It’s about how you present yourself in the country that you live in. People are good everywhere in this world.

It is already the case when its difficult to get a visa, imagine the situation if its made easier.\n4) Most of the Indian tourists fall under the mass category, they are not like the heavy spending Chinese tourists. We are not the most well behaved, so till we start getting more affluent, we wont be in as much demand.

Getting India's visa is much more complicated

Many who prefer to travel abroad might not have travelled internally at all or a little travelled. Many may not have seen beautiful North Eastern states namely Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura. Connectivity was problem once not now. Many might not have gone to Andaman and\n Laksha Dweep islands. Sikkim, Goa, Kashmir and south India offers more and cheaper. Foreign travel is ok for business trips and not definitely for pleasure.
