As a patriotic proud Canadian. This goes to show Canada what time it really is. It's time to develop our nuclear weapons systems. We have a right to defend ourselves like the USA and all other countries who have nuclear weapons to defend themselves.  Canada being the first country to build a nuclear reactor in the 1950s , it's time we take our defense for our nation,as it shows we cannot trust our neighbor. Just like Poland, Hungary, Austria, France couldn't trust their neighbor Germany.

To the Americans who are outraged by Trump, you need to stand up and truly fight like the MAGAts did when they stormed the capital on Jan 6th. If you really have a problem with whats going on you need to take a stand and make a difference. If you just sit back then you are allowing it to go on. Sorry if thats unfair to say but we're living in a time where your Leader is going to only get worse and worse and start a World War if he isnt stopped and held accountable. This level of Terrorism against Canada, Greenland, Palestine, Ukraine, Mexico, Japan and China CANNOT go unpunished. Throughout history if this happened 20+ years ago this would have NEVER happened because people would stand up against oppressors and dictators. Its time to do just that.

I feel sorry for Canada. But what will these tariffs do to weaker Mexico? Do Americans really think that impoverishing Mexico will lead to less criminality and immigration from Mexico? This is crazy.

Great, unambiguous words by the Canadian president! But one of his remarks stood out: he said that the tyrants want to divide us. He is correct, of course. But the implications are profound! This means that Trudeau himself is measuring his words and deliberately using diplomatic language. He even says that Trump is “intelligent”, which only plays into the imbecile’s unfortunate NPD psychology! The unwillingness to stand strong against American tyranny is harming democracy worldwide! Force Trump to declare a side! And make him choose Putin or democracy NOW!! If you fail to do that, you are taking the path of accommodation, and if Trump is really a tyrant (which he surely is, because of MANY evidences!!), democratic countries weaken their position by not standing strong NOW. If Europe and Canada and Mexico ban Tesla imports and place 50% tariffs on tens of billions of dollars of American products, what would happen? Are these countries AFRAID of the United States? This is not the time for fear! This is the time for courage! Boycott!!!

We are going to make sure that you can sell the absolute minimum to Canada. We have reliable trade partners, reliable options. You have none. Good luck with Russia. Do you really think Putin will trust you?

As soon as Trudeau or any other Canadian Liberal MP says, “Let me be crystal clear,” or refer to clarity, you can be sure that there is dishonesty happening! This guy has been working on Canada’s destruction for 9 years. He has given away Billions of taxpayers hard earned dollars to those of his choosing, as though it were his to give. He has been financially running Canada into the ground with the help of his financial advisor, Mark Carney. He has let The Canadian Armed Forces disintegrate for lack of funding, while choosing to refuse payment to NATO and those who help to defend Canada. He and his Government have been involved with billion dollar scandals and have become a major force of “Legalized Crime!” Now he wants to lay the blame for his poor leadership on the US. Unfortunately, many Canadians don’t see the truth! The Canadian News Media support the Government and suppress the truth by backing the Government Propaganda and by twisting the truth into untruth! It’s a childish game being played by an entitled child who doesn’t care about the people he was supposed to be leading. I would imagine, that if their Conservative Party Leader Poilievre wins the upcoming election, he will be able to straighten out many of the troubles that have been caused by the World Economic Forum Puppets and their agenda. I doubt that the Canadian People are in favor of the agenda of having nothing and being happy. What foolishness the elites expect people to believe. I’m sure that our Government will be able to get it all ironed out when Canada gets a leader that really cares about their people and not about those fake Carbon Taxes. It’s very interesting to watch what’s going on up in Canada! Interesting but sad, because they don’t have the ability to impeach a bad, unethical leader…

It’s really annoying that CNN continues to babble on instead of letting Trudeau finish his press conference and then proceed with their responses. Our country is in the hands of a madman along with Musk and other cowardly Republicans who are in office. For all of those who voted for Trump, wait till energy and other costs rise, but it’s a shame we will all suffer as a result. Canada is our friend I am ashamed right now to call myself an American.

As an American who grew up in Canada, this saddens me to my core. I spent my whole childhood and into my 20s in Canada, and am really regretting ever leaving for this cesspool. I still have all of my family in Canada and I will always feel Canadian and will always stand by and fight for them ?❤️?

1/2: Myself and the saner half of the US that read, understood, and voted against Proj 2025 understands why they need to levy retaliatory tariffs especially as a Michigander who's lived less than 4 hours from Canada all her life, who has family in Quebec and Ontario, and is a job-seeking policy professional and international trade nerd who now cannot in good faith seek a job in the federal government. We have been looking and still do look to Canada as a model quite a bit and love Canada and Canadians to pieces. We Michiganders especially in the central and eastern UP and Detroit and Ann Arbor area are friends, coworkers, and family of Canadians. Some are even dual citizens. The number of countries around the world boycotting American products in support of Canada will really bite America. Canadians are done, we will not be bullied by our neighbours to the south, and free nations are watching. America has lost all previous respect it had on the world stage. America is not a decent and reliable friend, America can not be trusted to honour its agreement. We will fight back! Canad has never started a war of any kind, but we have never failed to fight back when attacked, and we have never lost a war!

As an American, i hope that the world does react to the United States as Canada has. And even worse. I hope that things for us get as bad as it gets because anything less will be ignored or brushed off as anyone elses fault. I want Americans to really understand what a horrible mistake they made in Donald. But my hopes or not, this seems very likely to be the case anyway.

I'm European and I really can't understand how you can make an economic trade war with an ally like Canada, a close and so friendly neighbor.... A dumb decision not only for the W Post... And all of this will end up heavily impacting Americans as well, also because besides Canada there is Mexico, China and the whole of Europe. In such a war there are no winners.... I really hope that the American people understand this and start fighting for this nonsense to end. \nAnd when I then hear President Trudeau called governor.... Well I get even more angry. Never have I ever wanted more than I do now to move to Canada. What a lucid, professional and accurate depiction of what is really going on. The USA president Trump wants everything to be manufactured and sourced locally from the United States of America. He knows what happened during COVID-19 and what problems the world experienced because of a global supply chain. Now while it doesn't really make sense with Canada who is right next door the Canadians were given the opportunity to integrate into the USA so there could be some motive in that. And why wouldn't they want that anyway? Just remove the Canadian border and everyone becomes the USA. Why not?

I hope America makes peace with Canada so strengthen both sides, hmmm.

What would be interesting to know is how trade between Canada and Europe explodes, Europe would like all the oil and gas and rare earthminerals Canada has, so would China, if for nothing other than to prevent Americas access to it. I think trump and musk think russia will supply rare earth minerals on the cheap, but Russia is about to collapse again and various regions break away as they did last time, but this time is much worse than back then, Russia really could cease to exist and America will not benefit at all, Europe China India Mongolia will benefit. Russians hate america more than Americans hates Russia, America has been prosperous, while 40% of Russians don't have running water or electricity, yes the big cities and towns in the west are better off but most of Russia does not even have paved roads.\n\nTrump is backing his banker, and everyone knows it, pootin is using trump, very clearly shown when he set up President Zelensky in that ambush.\n\nEurope China and other countries will be in line to sign trade deals. I think it was clever of Trudeau to say what he did. And to set a few months before the massive cuts in trade with America as what the rapist president is doing, what republicans are doing will be biting very hard by then, and Canada cutting trade at that time will be possibly the straw that breaks trump.

As a German I really hope Canada and Europe can strengthen their relationships.
