The world is with Canada in this difficult times......but I'm pro russia so don't mention my Goat Putin

I hope EU will be also that smart and strong when Trump will set the tariffs here. I mean with words and actions, like in this polite but also strong and honest speech. We are with you and also Mexico and I hope we will become closer allies than we already are! We need each other in this hard times against russia and it seems also against trump.

Even though we as Americans might disagree with President Trump, we have to stand firm on some things here, the way PM Trudeau came on here and reversed this tariffs on the US after all we done with this is still an attack on us, we have to think broader and wider, I am a 22 year retired Navy vet and seen how these countries treat us and we have been taken advantage of, it’s time we stand firm. From the USA: Why is it right for Canada to tariff us more than we tariff them? Trump pointed out that there was a 200 billion a year tariff deficit for the USA. Some say that number is inflated and the real number is somewhere around the 70 billion mark in Canada's favor. No one disagrees that the US has a huge tariff deficit with Canada. So, the USA is just leveling the playing field. It's time to truly have level trade with the rest of the world, not just Canada. No more free lunch from the US to the world. We want free and fair trade, but for that to happen we must tariff other countries goods at exactly the same level they tariff our goods.

Trump has invented the emergency with Canada to avoid Congress and use executive powers to slap a tax (taxation without representation) like a King would, on the US people. Last time this happened tea was thrown into the river and the US fought their war of independence.\n\nIt’s time to declare independence from Trump/MAGA

An American patriot here I support whatever our allies have to do!! Trump and his administration do not represent all of Americans!! Do not trust him, he never faces any consequences legal or otherwise! Our allies stand up to him and so must American patriots. A brilliant speech. Honest and forthright. But lets get to the nitty gritty. It's about time the rest of the world realized that life does not revolve around the USA. There is NATO and even though political views differ there is a union to assist each other. America is on the path to a Dictatorship. Trump has the means and the backing to do it. If he gets his third term this will become a reality and there appears no one is prepared to stand in his way.

Ah yes, the trade war that Canada will surely lose. I love Canada. Wouldn't trade it for the world, but this is a losing battle by which citizens on both sides will feel the full effect. Trump appeasing Putin is a chess move, that the PM seems to be overlooking. The US can't afford to go to war with Russia, but at the same time, it needs resources within Russia's neighboring region. So the US will do what they always do, and had people listened to what Kissinger had to say, they'd be better prepared for this. Nonetheless, let's stand proud and strong, and come together as Canadians in order to get through this.

Canada should immediately order total blockade the border and reject all goods coming to Canada from USA and ask all Canadian not going to USA from now until further notice to force Trump Tariff to crack down! At the same time call each province to mobilize to prepare for actual war to star conscription because Trump may invade Canada like Hitler had done in Europe before! He is actually mad in mind now!

In the mean time we regular people have to pay high prices.?

Americans should book Russian courses so that they can communicate better with their new friends. Maybe communism is the better way for America, as time will show

Canada needs to get together with EU, Mexico, UK, Australia, Japan, etc. to prevent depression. Together we can manage through these dark times. EU countries will buy ALL of the oil, gas and minerals that Canada can sell. Europe is energy and resource hungry.

Maybe he should discuss the constant duty fees and border crossing fees for anything shipped from Canada to the USA that have been constantly rising for years; fees that his very own government sets. Maybe he should talk about Canada demanding that anyone that sells anything foodwise to anyone in Canada from the USA has to have a special Safe Food For Canadians Food License or the goods being shipped will be rejected at the US owners cost, seized by the border and held in storage at the US owners cost, and destroyed and billed to the US owner. A license that no one actually needs considering other legal and ethical controls are in place to prevent unsafe foods from crossing the border, but Canada reserves the right to make us pay for one or we suffer consequences. Maybe he should discuss how they left their borders open to migrants, making it much easier for criminal migrants to get into the US. Maybe he should understand that the US has always been bleeding money to Canada on a trade level for about half a century with it getting much worse in the last decade because Canada's government are greedy. Before any of you come at me, keep in mind I work in the food ingredient industry as an order processing, logistics and customs & border crossing and have done so for 15 years. These tariffs were a long time coming and if any of you are on the inside of trade in the manner I am, then you know what I'm saying is true. The US is constantly paying additional tariffs by way of duty fees, customs fees, certain applied taxes (like there is literally a blueberry tax to ship US grown blueberries into Canada to prevent US blueberries from taking over the Canadian blueberry market). The blueberry tax is about 25cents per lb. which drives the price per lb. up for the seller and buyer. You wanna know why Food costs so much? All of the above with a huge side helping of GREED.
