Governments are lying to potential immigrants. I work with a guy who said he was told that his qualifications would be recognized when he landed and to not worry about anything. Upon arrival he applied for a job in his field and was told that his qualifications were not recognized. He was then told that he wold have to complete the equivalent of 4 years night school to receive accreditation. He wonders why he came but cant afford relocate back to his original home since it was sold and they used everything to come to a western country. He wasnt prepared for the cost of living and is now stuck in a country even he doesn't want to be in.

I am the child of immigrants. We were taught that Canada is the promised land. What by beloved country has become is heart breaking. You are younger than I am, so you have more options. I will not be leaving my country. I will stay and fight. It doesn't take much. I left Germany after a year working.\nReason:\n15%- Even though i learnt german, but still faced discrimanation sometimes due to colour. Due to discrimanation outsiders can never go up the ladder. In the USA, You would see many Indians as CEO, but in Germany its impossible.\n25% - Work is too slow. Many people remain on leave/holiday. Not just my office, bank and other gov work are also very slow.\n20% - Too many immigrants. its no more germany. school has almost 80% non german.\n10% - Dependency on trains, and trains are often delayed. Getting driving licence takes lot of time.\n5% - Cold weather\n5% - High taxes (but we get some benefits)\n5% - People are very closed. I wanted to help and talk to neighbour, but they were so cold to interact.\n5% - Away from home, never felt like home.\n5%- Doctor appointment, sply for kids is nightmare. \n5%- Drugs, beer, smokers everywhere. No culture.\n\nOthers find difficulty in finding house, but i got easily.\nNow some positive:\n\n50% - Too much time for yourself. But it goes in bringing grocery and housework.\n20% - Pure air and water... lot of greenery to go around.\n20% - connectivity and tourism to rest of europe.\n5% - Free schools, good open grounds.\n\n\nMy personal reason was spirituality is missing in Germany. I lived in Germany for my masters and found it to be one of the most hostile and aggressive places to land yourself in. I made up my mind at the end of the first year to leave this land forever after my masters, to never come back. This country needs a lot of skilled immigrants but the society is not ready yet and that you-know-what-I-mean feeling from age-old times still runs deep. It only deserves unskilled asylum seekers.

In the 80s and 90s Canada received thousands of immigrants who believed they were living the Canadian dream and obtaining nationality was a great honor, what happened to Canada to get to this point, every year I see dozens of farmers selling their land and emigrating to Brazil, and prospering in soybean plantations and raising cattle, when I ask a Canadian farmer why he came to Brazil, I only see a tear drop and answer Canada is in the past and he needs to guarantee the future of his family.

1. German companies expect people to speak C1 Deutsch out of college. Which is not only unreasonable but also impossible unless a student only studied German and not their subject matter.\n2. The companies are still milking COVID and the war in Ukraine as excuses to not hire enough people while the pool of recent graduates is increasing. \n3. People with specialised degrees are unemployed. \n\nGermany doesn't need immigration for skilled labour. It needs to change it's corporate mindset and be more welcoming and understanding of the non-Germans. Sure people need to learn your language but that doesn't mean that they'll land here, eat currywurst and immidiately start speaking the local dialect. You've to be patient and give them time, which they simply don't want to give. \n\nAnd don't get me started on the meagre salary. It's insulting.

I’m immigrant from Iraq. Came in 2009 and I can say Canada has immigration problem. There’s no way you are getting these students back to India. When I came to Canada I came because I wanted to make it my second home. A country that I’m willing to actually fight for. These guys are here just to make money and send it back to India. I noticed in Vancouver area that all affordable rental places were demolished and replaced with high rises, especially in metrotown. These high rises has shoe boxes units that sells for 1 million and more. Don’t you guys think this housing crises that Vancouver has is made deliberately and does not have much to do with immigration. Why these eye sore high rises are not built away from our affordable housing areas. Lot of empty land in Surrey and Langley. Please leave affordable condos alone.

I live in rural Atlantic Canada. There is lots and lots of land not being used. People driving long distances from their huge single family home to get to town or the city. If no Canadians are moving to the country side to start homesteads, then why not immigrants. I don't see the point of someone moving to a local small town to work in a Tim Hortons or not if there is no job available and buy franken foods from huge corporations. Instead if some immigrants want a homesteading life (some probably would), give people grants to make apartments in their huge single family farmhouses left from the days when people had ten kids, and subdivide their land so the new people can farm it. The local people can get rent money and payment for the subdivision and still have a large plot of land left over). Grow the local farmers markets! Grow the small towns to what they were 100 years ago! Make it so people only had to drive to the city when they wanted to, not for work. There is so so much empty land out here used for massive lawns.

I like multiculturalism and this country is founded on immigration. So there is no reason to tie and blame the Indians for our old problem of homeless population. Stay on point and stop tying it down with non-related issues.

The problem with some of the immigration is that some forget the values and ethics! In a nutshell. When the immigrants outnumber Canadians it ceases to be Canada. When more money and support is given to foreigners than Canadians that have paid taxes for their whole lives it's a travesty. Newly landed immigrants have more opportunities than my Canadian born children even though I have paid an insane amount of taxes to Canada my whole life.
