My family came from Canada from India over 100 years ago we came over here legally we tried to assimilate I think what really bothers me now is that these new international students are giving all of us a bad name most of them cheat on their English exams back in India, and this is a known fact most of them can’t speak English and hence why they fail the colleges here expecting to be passed automatically. they work over 40 hours a week illegally and lie about it The government is subsidizing international students but they are taking jobs away from our students. We paid taxes my entire life and my son applied for over 100 jobs and got nothing because every single job is taken over by international students they are they are abrasive. They are entitled, they cannot seem to understand how assimilation works. They are so entitled and they feel they can protest out in the streets when they dont get PR. They came on a student visa and were expected to go home. They are now complaining and protesting at this point they all need to be sent home because this is ridiculous, PR should be handed out as needed not automatically and right now there are so many Canadians without jobs so we don’t need more workers. I also work in healthcare most of the students or their families come in don’t have appropriate healthcare and we end up paying millions of dollars in healthcare bills because of them, we have had families come visit their international students with no healthcare having strokes costing us healthcare workers and the government over $1 million. We don’t have the infrastructure for these students to stop. The government needs to stop subsidizing. The government needs to stop handing out PR like they’re handing out candyscamin India and here charged enough is enough. I will def be writing to my politician

I have been in IT Security for more than 6 years now. I was working remotely for a US based company and earning in US dollars in TURKEY. Applied and got accepted to a German company because I didnt like remote work anymore. This was 3 months ago and I am still waiting for my visa appointment date. Left a lucrative job to go to Germany for a half of my past salary. That’s my stupidity. No answers from German embassy in Turkey. We are just told to wait. They are clearly telling us we don’t need you here. Waiting 3 months just for a visa appointment without any answers is crazy. I am already applying to other jobs. I guess they have enough Turks there hahah :D

Liberal government needs to fix the problem it created with immigration. Harper raised the immigration level from 250,000 a year to 400,000 a year. Trudeau decided that there was no limit. It is 100% his fault. There is a finite amount of people we can take in per year and pay for as new immigrants need financial support to get on there feet in a new country. The tax base cannot build infrastructure (Doctors, nurses, roads sewer systems....) fast enough for an unlimited amount of new people per year.

The Indian students are here not to study, they just want to stay back here and gain permanent residency permit. We dont need more Uber drivers, These people take jobs from Canadian citizens. The immigration file has been completely botched and mishandled by an inept and very stupid government. Mass immigration without a plan for increased housing, medical staff, infrastructure help, or even increased staff at immigration centres, etc. is madness, and chaos has ensued. I studied in India for several years, and was careful to respect Indian culture vis a vis dress codes, learning Hindi, and behaviour. It is only normal courtesy to do so. It becomes more difficult when numbers increase drastically over a v. short period of time since people coming here are not widely exposed to Canadian culture. This completely inept and corrupt government needs to go: like yesterday. I think of myself as anti-racist, but when I go for a medical test and see that 95% of patients appear to be of middle-eastern origin, while I haven't been able to find a family doctor for 10 years, I do get a little irritated. And I'm a boomer; younger people in Canada are competing for education, jobs, housing, as well as medical care, so I can understand people becoming angry. I think that currently this backlash is against the government, not immigrants, and not one community in particular. I am cynical enough to think that this government went for mass immigration because they have no economic plan for prosperity, and bringing in several millions would raise GDP. But percapita GNP has been falling for 8 quarters, so we are definitely in a recession. I think Trudeau did this so his economic incompetence would not be obvious. Anyway, that's my appeal: we should be upset at a government that caused this chaos, not at individual immigrants nor a specific community.

The people to blame are the politicians on the left and the right. They have literally done this to this nation and this needs to end now. They are bringing in the third world in making Canada something it's not. All of these people need to be sent packing. Most of Germans are really good people and friendly nothing against them but Germany itself is not immigrant friendly racism is pretty much on the rise ,low wages , little or no opportunities, my wife handles international clients and she says German client s are the worst in behavior they sound rude and entitled. If I'm a skilled person and want to move to Germany first and foremost you need to learn most difficult language in world and master it nothings wrong there but why would I when I could just go with English and move to other English speaking countries which offers more opportunities or atleast learn french that would be even more beneficial. Germany was known for it's low cost education system and other benefits it provide for students but sadly enough jobs are not there. If you want to attract international talent first atleast create an atmosphere for them but really sorry to say these but Germany feels hostile towards immigrants. Not so acurate information. During the college time students can work only 20h/week. Unless it has changed. \n\nAlso, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get permanent residency before graduation because you need Canadian experience (full time) for at least 1 year in specialized areas. \n\nOnly if you successfully complete your program you get the full time work visa per 3y. In this time it’s going to be possible TO APPLY for permanent residence. \n\nBut not only that. Canadian experience give you extra points in the immigration program, but also a Bachelor’s degree, or a master degree, work experience in your back country, English level, and age. \n\nI don’t know for certain countries if the rules are different, but as long as I know, it’s the same for everybody. \n\nWhen I came as an international student, I had to prove the college was paid, also show I had enough money to support myself for 1y without work. Also, the program at college that costs $4000/semester for a Canadian student, it costs $8-10.000 for an international student. \n\nMy work visa (during college) allowed me 20h per week working only. \n\nTo get my study visa approved I had to show intermediate English, money, work experience, Bachelor’s degree (I have also a master’s), and explain why I wanted to study in Canada and why that program was related to my current career. \n\nTalking about jobs; I have worked as a housekeeper in a hospital (on weekends). My recent visit to the Landesamt für Einwanderung in Berlin was a stressful: i am a freelance musician applying for an official music teacher's position. There was a summit of 5 people there that could not wrap their heads around what papers i didn't fill in, so they gave me a piece of paper that legitimates my stay for one more year and said I'd need one more paper to proof that I am skilled enough. I tried to get one more appointment after filling in the papers, but no answer. Me and my employer are now stuck in this together, because we need each other more, than the immigration office thinks we do.

Why protest? Student visa is only for studying, that means you don’t have work permits to apply for permanent residency as per you visa guidance, if Canadian have enough jobs only to get a job for work permits, if doesn’t need to go back, you didn’t pay any taxes for our country and wasted taxpayer money

Why not just exclusively adopt the skill qualification as the criteria for granting PR status like 20-30 years ago. Isnt that the minimum every 1st world countries should require?They can bring their immediate spouses and children BUT do away with allowing old parents or Grandparents. It doesnt make sense to bring someone too old to contribute to the economy. Even if they do menial jobs, it wouldnt make an impact as they havent contributed enough to the system.\nAnd for heavens sake STOP the temporary foreign workers program. The jobs they are getting arent even under “skilled” category. That should be left for young Canadians or PR Canadians who needs entry level work.

Myself working and living in Germany since last 3 years as a blue card holder IT professional. To this date, I have made 0 contacts in germany, making friends here is a far fetched dream. People just don't even look at a stranger person of colour. To them, we are auslanders who are not fit to integrate in their so called german culture. The housing crunch and slow lathargic medical system makes Germany even less attractive. The government needs to understand that not everyone from different parts of the world can learn German. The IT professionals don't get enough time to even look after their health during day to day office activities, on top of it, they are asked to learn german post office hours. Its too much for me.

Canada's most of the social welfare schemes work on the high taxes collected from working class. But Canada isn't manufacturing much stuff and exporting. So economy is still stagnant. Long waiting time for healthcare is because of huge influx of immigrants but not enough investment in medical staff. Right now there's recession too so getting job for immigrants is tough. Housing is also getting affected. Canada needs to address these issues.

Looking at Canada's housing crisis, and unemployment rate this is not a bad decision. Immigration should be based on need. The US green card lottery is another bullshit as we have enough diversity here.

You need a fishing license to Fish. Ok fair enough. Now you have to buy fishing ticket separately for all small pond river and lakes. Rivers tickets are sold for every 10-20 km. If you travel to next town, the previous ticket is invalid even though its the same river. Even if i travel somewhere for few days, ticket must be bought. Its not flexible, too stressful. Moreover, places like beer gardens, swimming pool, restaurants etc you won’t feel welcome unless you are white.

What's not being addressed is how temporary foreign workers were once relegated to to agricultural and fisheries work but are working for many exploitive employers who care about nothing more than having the lowest payroll, mainly fast-food and retail. These are entry-level jobs that many Canadians needed to survive but are being undercut by foreign cheap labor. These jobs used to pay the bills. \n\nGlobal News only showing agricultural workers and not Subway and Tim Hortons franchises shows what side of the issue Global News is on. It makes you wonder who has voting control of Corus Entertainment, probably the same investors who own many Subway and Tim Hortons locations. \n\nChrystia Freeland saying they will tie the Temporary Foreign Workers eligibility to the unemployment rate of an area still does not address how those jobs do not cover basic living expenses of Canadian citizens. Minimum wage will never go up like this but every possible expense will skyrocket to gouge the public so every corporation will cover their finances except private citizens, unless its one of the citizens destroying the country to cover their willy-nilly investments. \n\nThe young and the poor (now the majority of Canadians) aren't asking for thriving wages, cause that ship has sailed, just to be respected enough to be paid a living wage. I can't believe Trudeau thinks he will get re-elected after selling out the country to investors.

Coming to Canada for an education does not, and should not guarantee permanant residency in Canada. Not our problem if anyone assumed different. We need to stop allowing the influx of low skilled immigrants. We need doctors; nurses, engineers, tradespeople, etc..we have enough uber/skip the dishes drivers, sandwich artists, and baristas. Our youth can't even find jobs because of the amount of low skilled immigrants we bring in, and the amount of temporary foreign workers we allow.

I live there for two decades except few years in India. People move there for opportunities and face job problem. Earlier one could manage in 2000 dollars but now 4000 is not enough. Salaries have increased but cost of living rose rapidly in the last 4-5 years. \n\nLakes are there but only produce is grass and cows fed on that. Some farming is there. Lot of forests but more than economy, it is becoming liability with very high cost of dousing wild fires. In summers, many cities are severely polluted causing health concern in only good season there. \n\nAll businesses are controlled by a few and we call them cabal. Life of new comer is like bonded labourers or slaves. \n\nPolity and healthcare we need not say anything. It is as clear as daylight \n\nPeople are moving less but are still moving there. It speaks more about condition in India.

Not all Indians abuse the system but there are a lot that do. Canada needs to curb immigration. It's hard enough for our young people and everyone without the added strain of too much too soon.

I am constantly annoyed by the following, but because I was born in Canada, I would be cancelled for saying the things you can. I am also Indian. Here’s the list that comes to mind. I might come back and edit this because I am sure there are things I am forgetting: \n\n- coughing into your elbow instead of your hands (literally watched a guy yesterday on the bus cough into his hands then put his hands onto the support bar)\n\n- Standing to the side and letting people off the train so you can get on instead of trying to walk through people who are trying to get off \n\n- Standing up and moving to the side to let somebody off on an inside seat of the bus. I have a butt. I don’t want to be squeezing by you \n\n- Taking off their backpack while standing on the bus and putting it between their legs\n\n- Moving to the back of the bus instead of crowding by the doors\n\n- Standing in lines to get onto the bus instead of crowding\n\n- Not littering. Either put your garbage in the bin or take it with you. Stop leaving it on the beach or on hiking trails.\n\n- Learn about hiking before attempting it. We have people going up in jeans and flip flops in the evening and getting stuck on mountains or injured. Some wear running shoes but they don’t have enough traction for the trail\n\n- Shovel the sidewalk in front of your home when it snows\n\n- Stop dousing yourself with axe body spray. \n\n- Understand that Indian food makes your clothes smell. It gives off oils that get stuck in everything. Open your windows and doors when cooking to minimize this as much as possible. You won’t be able to resolve this entirely but do what you can. The skytrain now smells like Indian food even when empty. \n\n- Stop riding your bikes and scooters on the sidewalk. It’s illegal and you have a responsibility to learn the rules \n\n- Stop hiring everybody that you know. Before nepotism was all about networking, but nowadays, it seems to be about hiring Indian people that you know. I am being discriminated by employers because they think I will do the same once I am in. Diversity in teams matters. Indian immigrants don’t seem to believe in this and think all that matters is the most qualified get the job. This is how you end up building facial recognition models that don’t recognize Black people. \n\n- You work at McDonald’s. Stop blasting Indian music. The McDonald’s by my place is blasting Indian music from the back and it overtakes the restaurant music. \n\n- In a work environment, even if it is all Indians, speak English. You ostracize your fellow colleagues and customers. You are also not improving your English skills by speaking in your primary language.\n\n- Make an effort to make non-Indian friends. It’s really intimidating even as an Indian to see large packs of Indian men\n\n- Learn how to swim. Every year we have multiple drownings at a lake because Indian people are unprepared for the reality of the water. This is a basic safety skill.\n\n- Stop staring at women. Even as an Indian woman I get stared at by these guys. Just stop. \n\n- Get headphones. Playing music or having conversations on speakerphone in public places is rude and very inconsiderate of others \n\n- Stop cheating. Whether that’s cheating the system or during classes. We grow up here and environment that even though we can cheat, the culture makes it completely unethical and you just don’t. The consequences are significant. I get it that you come from a country that doesn’t have enough resources for its population, but you give the entire Indian community a bad name when you cheat, lie, and do other unethical things.\n\n- Learn about Canadian values. The Canadian charter of rights and freedoms exists. Under it cases were won supporting equality for women, LGBTQ rights, etc. this is built into our constitution and it’s so ridiculous to come across people who don’t adopt Canadian values. Why choose Canada if you want a culture of what’s back at home. \n\n- I get it that our healthcare system needs to improve but am disappointing reading advocacy for private healthcare in Indian Facebook groups in Canada. Tommy Douglas was voted as the greatest Canadian. He is the founding father of our nationalized healthcare system. For the most part, Canadian are happy that we don’t have a healthcare system like the United States, where your access is determined by your employer or your income. We don’t go bankrupt when we have a health emergency. Go back to India or go to another place where you can pay for private healthcare, but stop advocating to transition our healthcare system to a private system. While you’re at it go look up who was determined to be some of the greatest Canadians.

Our Canadian born kids are unable to find jobs because of these Indian international students. Time to send them back when their study finished. Canadians who pay taxes need jobs for themselves and for their kids. Enough is enough.

Because there are not enough jobs and housing to go around but also there is a great deal of crimes by people from the Punjab etc. The pooping thing is true and they refuse to adapt to the culture. I'm 52 years old and a Canadian citizen my whole life. Canada has always been a welcoming country. I have friends from every part of the world here in Canada. But in the couple years there has been a brutal influx of Indians in Canada. My build alone had maybe 3 Indian households. Now more than 60% of the building is indians. And the problem is 6 to 8 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment. We use to have 1 garbage bin in the basement. Now we have 3 and they are over flowing and they leave garbage everywhere( I've watched them do it). Not everyone has house keys so they leave the security door open all hours of the day allowing criminals to get into the building. They have shit in the laundry room and the garage(I have seen this happen). They smoke in the building halls and lobby. They Dont use laundry detergent when washing their clothes so the laundry machines stink really bad. I have to was the laundry machine before even putting my clothes in.Also they have taken every job in the business in my neighborhood. They aren't very friendly. They come into my restaurant and act like entitled brats and hang out for 6 to 7 hours in groups of 20 and don't tip. They're loud and demanding. Now our regular client's have stopped coming. Since these new Indians have come here they have tainted everything. I have never been a racist individual in my whole life. My family is very diverse. We are white, black, packistan, and Asian. In the last 3 years I am so disgusted in the quality of people that have been coming to this country. The biggest group is Indians. I'm sorry but be don't need any more of these assholes. There are no new Immigration changes related to PR. Express entry system which provide invitations for PRs are directly linked to the job market. so, if you are in a high demand sector, you can get the PR. \nJust having a Canadian degree doesn't guarantee it. you have to have work experience in these high demand sectors and with current job market, it's impossible to find a job. \nAnd for these students who protest, government has already extended their work permit once. and if you can't find a job in 3 years, then you are no longer needed by the country. Fair enough right ?

And this is why we shouldn’t pay crazy sums of money to foreign universities- it’s a rip off. They can tell you to go back home anytime after pocketing your parent’s life savings. \n\nIt’s easy for them to say go back - what people don’t realize is that if an Indian pays fees in Canadian dollars, they will need at least 15 yrs of earning in Rupees to pay it back. Where it would take only 2-3 yrs in Canada in earn the same amount. \n\nSo basically you ruin your life if you pay fees in CAD and then return to India immediately - you need to stay at least long enough to recover your fees.\n\nAdditionally, Canadian university degrees are not valued in the Indian job market, just the work experience. \nSo best not to pay to study in foreign university if they can’t guarantee 2-3 yrs of work. After that you can always return, it’s actually better.

Listen I have nothing against Indians. The problem is this. This is our country. You come here and take our youths jobs, take our housing and healthcare. Also I am going to be very honest at fast food places like Tim Hortons and KFC as I have had these experiences they are rude to women. I am 63 years old and have been smirked at by two young Indians at Tim Hortons because I complained they got my order wrong. Another time at KFC my granddaughter who is 9 asked for something and they treated her rudely she started to cry. We don’t want you here. Go home with your education you get from our country and use it. We don’t need your people here without going through the proper immigration process. I find you are ignorant rude and not nice people. It’s very unfortunate when I go into a restaurant or fast food and feel out of place in my country. Time to end it time to leave stay home we have enough problems.
