You know what too...If Canadians was too go to India I wouldn't be able to bring my Canadian/Caribbean Culture there..I look at it like this his your moving to another Country I'm gonna adapt to The Culture and Lifestyle..Im not gonna bring my Old Ways that I wanted to leave to a New Country and Life...I feel like its not Canadians being Racist it's that they came here and The Government and Businesses are Catering to them From Adding Specific Food Items to cater to them most Jobs are by passing others to hire them...And on top of that Canadians are dealing with Food Cost being High still and Working a Job and still not making else to live a decent Life...Seems like most people are Working to Survive and Pay Bill and don't even have enough to atlest go out and have a peace of mind and have a Social Life...There brought in all these Immigrants to The Country while The Country was basically under a Recession...And this Problem is not getting Fixed now and it seems like it's getting worst..To the point I feel like a Civil War could even break out I this don't get Fixed somehow and someway...
Purple Gorillaz Was Here. Peace.

Lack knowledge on Canadian 🇨🇦 immigration 🛂 is very much common in this comment section.
I came as a SKILLED immigrant ( POINT BASED SYSTEM)

Canadians have been labelled racists; Indians have refused to adopt the Canadian way of life. They are dirty, rude, blame deflectors in the workplace. I have been replaced by Indians in the workplace due to claims of "racism" just for calling out issues created and perpetuated by Indian colleagues. How many scam calls are we all getting now, how many jobs are we losing to them now, how many incentives are companies exploiting by hiring them just to drive profits now? I have a university degree and cannot get a job after such terrible experiences with these people in the workplace so I am going back to school in order to enter a type of industry they have not 'yet' taken over. Boomer thinking, their voting of Liberals and media brainwashing of "cultural diversity" has brought these issues to the boiling point. Enough is enough! Go back to India!

Send them back , it's out of control at this point.

we could have linked immigration to the data points and mandatory rules to ensure temporary workers are paid 50% more than the prevailing market wage to ensure its legitimacy. Unfortunately its runited and far behind the repair and its still going on without any brakes :'(

Even skilled trade jobs are marketed to international students as a pathway to obtain permanent residency in Canada.
the Canadian immigration system currently faces issues with corruption. This environment creates opportunities for scams, prompting individuals to engage in various forms of fraud to gain extra points and secure invitations for permanent residency. On housing, seems that the government is attempting to inflate housing prices, as this strategy significantly boosts the economy by presenting favorable GDP figures on paper.

Canada is literally 3rd world at this point. Your local rental ads are "Indian only" and everything reasonable is now $1700+ for a shoebox. Good luck finding work if youre not brown.

Canada is built on and by immigrants. At some point you were an immigrant unless you're indigenous

The points system is why Canadians have a good impression of immigrants. When you let in english or french speaking well or over-educated new citizens, people will have a good impression of these hardworking people.
When you let in gobs of just anyone.. you end up with Brampton, Ontario, or Sweden, where foreign nationals have brought their own opinion of how life should be to a previously high trust/well functioning area. Like the opposite of gentrification. Basically slumification, a reduction in trust, an increase in crime, an increase in corruption.. Who would have thought there would one day be new Canadian citizens calling for Sharia Law in Canada? That is when immigration "jumped the shark", and the system needs fixing.
And Canada already has the fix: Limit immigration to economically well off migrants who meet the points quota: ie, they are educated and speak english or french. And greatly restrict refugees... we have enough homeless and economically useless people, we do not need more.

Points?
I speak Rngl7sh only.
My smartphone doesn't speak Englush.
English, god dammit.
I also do not have maths. I was force-fed through basic math in public education. I learned absolutely nothing, and I graduated acceptable to Ontario.
I do not have a family doctor, only a walk-in clinic pill pusher. I have disability, disease, and damage.
I am not employed, I do not have an education or access to business learning. No money is a degree of poverty in Canada.
I couldn't engineer anything outside of daydreaming from my also unemployed father's basement.
I am a visual disability in legislated poverty. I own nothing, and I am not happy.
Why are immigrants coming to Canada?
There is no point.

So I had to spend tens of thousands 💵, prove that I could speak BOTH languages and assimilate before arriving, then pray to have enough points.
Now everyone and their grandparents can just skip the line.

Come on.
Our country needs people to sustain economic growth.
The issue is that we have given billionaires and corporations tax breaks instead of building infrastructure.
Let’s quit the finger pointing and just use those immigrants to build our infrastructure just like we did in the 50s and 60s
|

They should add sharing our national holidays to the points system.
|
| 2025-06-17 | 0 |
One thing also never discussed: because the point system prioritizes specialized labor, almost all immigrants are men. This has led to a massive demographic distortion with somewhere around 56% of people 35 and under in canada being men. This of course makes the birth rate issue much worse and will have future consequences.

But why? Why at that point?

Actual the reason Ukrainian were brought in was they were successful at farming in Chernozem/black soil that appears in both the Steppe region of Ukraine and the Prairies region of Canada. Up to very recent everyone who is here is here for a reason, whether it was the points system or informal economic reason in the more distant past.

Heightened scrutiny undermines Canada's reputation as a welcoming destination? Isn't this the point? Meanwhile, lax policies allow too much abuse of our "wecoming" system. Finally, with the US tightening their borders, Canada will be the desired destination for North America, and our policies must prepare for this likely outcome. One last point is this: i would rather this country take care of the first nations peoples, the dispossessed, those marginalized within our society and our elderly who've contributed to this country's growth and prosperity but, due to one or another reason, dont have workplace pensions for retirement. Once we've sorted out our own peoples, seen properly to the needs of those who were actually born here, ensured our hospitals and schools are well funded, then we can look to service the needs of a migrant population.

Canada used and earned money from international students and put so many rules them to leave. Canada doesn't want educated ppl they want refugees to run their country. Those who doesn't even have any language Proficiency. This country is run by headless ppl. They have to enrol int. Students from other countries not only India. Iran , Sudan they give easy work permit and PR. But those who did Masters studies no points.

Stick to the old points based system selecting the people coming in,exceptions for attracting talent in high tech, and have just a decent number of people coming.Yes we do need immigration but not over immigration for economical and social and integration reasons.

No Canada has not been long deemed a hub of multiculturalism. You are a globalist liar. Multiculturalism has been crammed down our throats in the last 3 decades. Canada was created by immigration alright, but immigration of Judeo-Christian Europeans who all assimilated into Canadian Culture. In the last 3 decades they have been trying to destroy that Canada by bringing in people from everywhere but Judeo-Christian nations with nothing in common with that Canadian culture and trying to force Canadians to accept being replaced by non assimilating 2nd, 3rd and 4th world Rodents who try to turn the country into the shitholes they ran from. You can lie all you want. Canada is finished if they don't deport everything that came in illegally under Trudeau and Harper that have been allowed to discriminate openly along with the women against the White males that created everything. That is what's happened in Canada, not the BS you spew here. Deport them all and Make Canada Canada again. One last point, foreign students have been the biggest nothingness brought in. Canadian kids get excluded because the foreign student pays twice the tuition, that's the only reason they are brought in. The majority make nothing better and disrespect the country openly, daily. That is the truth about Canada and immigration.

He spoke about a lot more than fentanyl ...but indeed that was the running theme for border security....I don't think anyone thought fentanyl was being funneled in serious amounts from the northern borders...he's really pointing out the amount of USA made products that aren't purchased by Canada, etc...Canada doesn't really strike me as an issue, I couldn't say what truly prompted this trade war...

The American president probably lost his mind. Let's imagine that the tariffs will actually be effective and three thousand companies from all over the world will come back. 3,000 companies will start producing, they need people. Where they pay American wages. These companies left because they could produce the product cheaper abroad and Americans could buy it cheaper. If all the companies come back, prices will increase by 30%. And 70 percent of the population will buy 30% more expensively. Inflation will run wild. Poverty will increase. What's the point of this?? Who is doing well? This is the question. Who is doing well?? It's not the majority of people for sure. They are probably friends of the president. Otherwise, they wouldn't support this stupid idea so mindlessly.

How is CNN still reporting lies? At this point more Americans think CNN is a terrorist group.

Why is it US truckers can only deliver goods loaded in the US to Canada or Mexico? Why is it a driver can take goods loaded in Canada or Mexico and deliver them at multiple points throughout the United States? Why did American truckers support Canadian truckers when Peter Pan Trudeau was jailing Canadians for honking their horns? Why is it American has beens and generals turned media stars always know what's best for the whole damned world when they haven't lived as a ciilian for thirty or forty years? Why is it when there is no war dumb asses all over the world want to start one? Why didn't Europe listen when they were being warned forty years ago to strengthen their NATO members military? How many armed Russian tanks that squared off against American tanks in Berlin in 1961 were made and manufactured in Ukraine? Why is it it's always so hard for lefty socialists claiming to be democrats refuse to accept the change from their worldly liberal socialist big government ideals to a smaller more conservative governent posture around the world? Why do........................................

There is a problem with the Canadian banking system, where its culture of risk, avoidance, hobbles, development, and growth. I think you were trying to make this point and I would agree. We could do better.
|
| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
Hold on there, boy, questionable, immigration policies. Both Canada and the United States were built on immigration, unless you are part of the first nations these types of inflammatory statements, are historically illogical. Countries like the United States of America, Canada, and Australia, New Zealand, and many parts of South America all grew with immigration. People in these countries that have been around a generation or more who decide to pull up the ladder have short memories from where they came. Regarding housing, it is always been and issue in many places and is affected by foreign investors and interest rates. Usually at some point there is a correction, some people win some people lose.

I like the way this man talks. Direct. And to the point. And he is right we need our neighbors as friends and Allies. ❤

From Australia \nSome valid points made whilst also leaving out some important details.\nRe fentanyl - this stronger enforcement and detection strategy should have been In place years ago and should not have taken the threat of tariffs to take this action.
|
| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
Probably, the best course of action... Buy the dip... Maybe if you have some cash aside, you should ponder on how bad this gets. But at one point, something will give, and things will go back up. White house mutiny? What I do know is that at one point something will give... The pushback is inevitable. And the Vilan is the man who is trying to change everything without any proper thought at all. If your actions do not make sense, Mr. Trump, than they are a facade; and that is wrong. Pulling the woole over your citizens' eyes is not democracy...
|
| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
We dont want this either...Trump is a cunt with no refernce point to reality for the working people...he's gotta go! This trust fund fool does not represent the US people... he's horrific. Period. Apologies in advance to ALL COUNTRIES this horrific male (TRUMP) will inevitably insult. WE LOVE YOU BACK!! SO SORRY HE EXISTS...clearly he thinks he's looking for rating at all times...ugh

| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
oof, minisiter, sir, I dont want to be rude or crass, or seem like a know it all, you seem lovely. But you DID get one thing wrong that I have to point out...Our government isnt lying to us about ushering in a golden age for Americans...Theres a bit of fine print there, easy to miss, the government is actually bringing in a golden age for the .01% of Americans. \neasy mistake, no biggie.

Makes me want to apply for Canadian citizenship... would have to live there for 3 years first. Still...\nGreat speech, calm, clear, to the point, reasonable and with all the respect, maybe more than Donald Trump deserves.?
|

„We may have understated the point“ ?
|
| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
Great speech: very clear and to the point. As is fitting for a wise leader.
|
| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
Canada is going to have to consider when working with the US Military is a security risk. Trump at some point will tell his generals he knows best as he does in every endeavor that he knows nothing about. Alignment with ruzzia and now tariffs, this is just the start.
|
| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
US always accuses China and Russia of neo-colonialism and bullying. Well at this point US just formed a trifecta of big bullies.
|
| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
From the Midwest U.S, I support Canada and Mexico! We don’t want tariffs. We want ALL our economy to prosper! Not to crash them down! Otherwise, if we place tariffs, ALL OF US will be hurt. ALL COUNTRIES. ALL citizens regardless of income levels will feel it. \n\nRising egg prices? Just tonight (as of the evening of March 4) he blames it on Biden and the administration when he’s not even the president! I cannot believe we voted for a president who points fingers rather than taking accountability. \n\nAs an American, I only want to apologize to the world for voting for this bully (I never voted for him, but he won anyways.) I wish you all the best.
|
| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
This is all just noise, at some point Trump is gonna give the top 1% a 2000..4000 Billion $ tax cut, claiming the tariffs paid for them
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The point is that it is not a trade war. Is is the war with real camps. Trudeau is in the camp of the ennemy
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
At this point it would be smart for Canada (as well as Mexico) to enter a defence/arms deal with China and make China a strategic ally. Possibly extend the same deal to Russia. US under Trump is effectively an unreliable ally, doubling down on catastrophic mistake/decisions instead of making swift amends.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Now that's a politician who knows what yes talking about, and he's directly on point.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
It seems pretty obvious. There've been rumors that Trump is a Russian stooge. Now, everything he's doing is either eroding western alliances or empowering Russia. The US is a puppet of Putin's Russia at this point. Never thought I'd see it in my lifetime.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Also (second comment) -- I wouldn't think it's unlikely to say that the point of this IS to impact the stock market. I will never know, but I would love to see who buys what stocks while the market is down. Which insiders purchase what? And then -- what, of those purchases (crypto or otherwise), soars when all of this gets resolved (because it will)?
