It was never an issue of us wanting to shut down the border. We just want to keep the border AT THE PORTS OF ENTRY so thst we can control the quota per year AND vet them to filter out the bad ones. Thats not a closed border. Its a controlled border.

Lived in Canada for almost 40 years. Worked in USA for 5 years 25 years ago. I did make a lot more money in USA then, luckily, I was in my 20s and almost never seen a doctor in my 5 years in the USA. \nThank God I didn't get into any accident while there. \n\nIn general, I observed many people in the USA are not good neighbors. Simple observation, ex you drive and merge into a lane in a busy SF Bay Highway you need to fight hard to get into a lane. In BC, Canada, merging lanes is very orderly, each vehicle takes turn merging into a lane one entering from one lane and then another vehicle from another lane with respect and consideration. \nIn the USA, I think it is this brutal mentality translates into policy in health care and education, you are not responsible to help your community in any way and take while you can for yourself.

These ‘people’ behave like utter animals, destroying nature, poisoning the water, using beaches as bathrooms. For the first time in nearly a hundred years our local food banks had to shutter and turn people away because INDIANS were using it as a free grocery store when they had FULL TIME JOBS and brand new bmws, then they post videos on social media saying ‘how to get free food in canada’, while some poor emaciated bastard gets turned away. What makes it worse, a lot of these Indians, especially in the prairies, already have their groceries subsidized by federal government, and they STILL abuse the food bank. It’s not just food bank either, they all apply for welfare and immediately get assistance even though it takes months to get as a natural born citizen, and that’s even if you get it. I was shocked to find out the federal government was paying indians to move out of Ontario and BC into Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba because the coastal cities infrastructure was about to implode in certain areas. So they they told these people to move inland, and if they do and stay there for 18-24 months, they get $3300 dollars a month every month for that duration. My disability cheque, that I paid into for 40 years of hard work, comes out to 950 dollars a month. This is absurd. These people get literally everything handed to them, and STILL abuse the programs meant for those who are struggling. I have never in my life met such an arrogant and utterly dishonest and disgusting group of peoples in my life. This isn’t just one or two bad apples, this is happening in every city around here. They also get first dibs on any and all medical treatment and specialists. Many local residents who have already been on waiting lists for years to get treatment are getting bumped in order to accommodate the new invaders. It’s basically impossible to find a doctors or dentists office accepting new patients. ER rooms are full constantly of these people coming just for runny noses and coughs, clogging up the already strained healthcare system. The prairies hospitals (at least where I live) were barely holding together before this nonsense. Yet somehow, this is all just white people being racist huh? \nWell I’ll tell you what, I’m not white, my people were on this land long before anyone else can claim to be, and while I’ll admit there’s often still a lot of animosity between natives and whites, youd be quite surprised to see how many of us are in agreement towards the current behaviour of these people.

Most goverment employees do about as much actual work in a week as one good worker could do in a day. Thats a fact. Ive never seen so many entitled, lazy people in my life.

Those millions who came in on the app are supposed to show up to court hearings! And to no one’s surprise, they never showed up for court and never will!

She conveniently missed mentioning the real reasons why visa applications of Indians get rejected -\n1) Thousands of Indians go on tourists visas only to 'disappear' and never return. It doesn't just happen in Canada, US, UK, Aus but also welcoming countries like Thailand, UAE.\n2) Indian Visa (to visit India) itself is one of the most expensive and complicated to get for foreigners, so other countries have no incentive to make it easier for Indian citizens.\n3) Developed countries know that if they make it 'easier' for Indians to travel to their country, they will end up with tens of thousands who wont want to go back to India. It is already the case when its difficult to get a visa, imagine the situation if its made easier.\n4) Most of the Indian tourists fall under the mass category, they are not like the heavy spending Chinese tourists. We are not the most well behaved, so till we start getting more affluent, we wont be in as much demand.

We should never forget that there is one thing in the world that when it gets completely destroyed, can still be repaired. And that happens to be a country. This is not true for anything else.

There are one Indian couple moved in my upstairs apartment two weeks ago.since then I just couldn’t sleep at night cus they are making so much noises for hours constantly every night . Nothing to worry. Its hell. I wish they had never given us visa . They been playing with our lives for several years. I have a kid who was born in USA and has mild autism. No one will believe how they have tortured us. How they never let me keep a job . I kept moving to different places but noone will hire me or rent us a descent house. Many Indian people go to Canada on student visas and never report to the college. They end up as illegals in the USA and Canada. They come from one specific region of India. This hurts the Indian passport ranking.

Plain and simple, Indians brainwashed about holding citizenships abroad whereas the reality of those of us who are with foreign visas, realize it is just hype. We Indians are succors. Best advice is never ever believe touts, media or friends that it is greener in the West. Go on a short work contract not take a loan or sell up and leave. I know a Indian friend who when he was a student due to climate issue got in a delayed flight in UAE, he hates politics but he follows a philosophy that's eye for an eye, and that is if everyone can be a thief nobody will be a thief, if you steel from me, I've the right to do the same, he was denied a 1 day visa by the UAE government and had to stay in the airport for 15 hours, he was angry, while others in the flight was given a 1 day visa, so say 15 years later, he is running his own business abroad, got a chance in open interview to interview students, saw one was a UAE citizen, he never took the interview for him, his philosophy, after 15 hours of waiting, he will take that student's interview, he took other's interview, after time was over he left the office and later the student left, his attitude is he as the right to do the same.

Canada is in crisis, politically, economically and financially. Our health care system is hanging on by a thread. The Crime Minister Justa Traitor has served his WEF masters well in dismantling this once great nation. We are hardly in a position to except legal immigrants never mind illegal ones. They are indians in usa, I don't understand why they needed visa if they are NRI they should have indian passport and if they have usa passport and have renounced indian citizenship, why did they not apply for OCI. i guess they never planned to come to india that often and this is just an one of affair so they didn't bother to get the OCI. Idiotic in my opinion, if god forbid they get in any trouble with the general hostility towards indians growing especially in USA, they should keep the option to just pack up and leave without all this visa issues on a moments notice.

I've written similar comments elsewhere that were automatically deleted by the person who posted the video, and I found that disheartening. I first want to address the rumour about human feces and dirty diapers being found on Canadian beaches, and I want to stand up for the people who called out Indians for doing this. Somebody saw something. Maybe they weren't able to produce any legal proof of it, but they clearly saw something, and there is nothing racist about them calling out this behaviour. This practice is not only unhygienic. It is ILLEGAL in Canada; so, it absolutely should be called out publicly to prevent it from ever happening again. I have seen many videos about the culture of mass open defection in India. The videos I saw were posted by Indians themselves. One of those videos was a TEDx talk done by a woman named Sangita Vyas who discussed the truth about open defecation and that it is not limited to only the poor population. Even people who can afford to build latrines are not using them, and she explains why after interviewing Indians to ask why. I've watched Indian doctors talk online about how many Indian children die from something as simple as diarrhea every year as a direct result of the water contamination caused by open defecation. So, clearly, open defecation is legal in India, and perhaps some of these people think if it's legal at home then it must also be legal elsewhere. WRONG. It's illegal in Canada. It's unhygienic. It should never happen. Period. And there is NOTHING racist about a Canadian saying this out loud and reminding people that they must follow the rules and laws of the country they are in.

I was born in Canada and my family was from the Caribbean and were brown. Learned Canadian history from our first PM John a McDonald, Wilfred Laurier, learned French. We were hoping Quebec did not separate from Canada. Our whole family is loyal to one country and that is Canada only. The small minority of Indians have destroyed what made us Canada. Yes I was, after Trump got elected no. Disabled human rights are horrible here and as compensation for lawsuits can be capped in cases that is unlikely to change. I should state the government had to pay me $25,000 dollars for violating my rights (this cost me $35,000+ in legal fees!) so I know of what I speak. It was the same when I moved provinces. In terms of mobility my fate was better in the 4 third world countries I visited after my stroke, there are no busses in loads of places here as we can’t “afford” them. Also I should state the government tried to make me site an NDA that would not allow me to state their behaviour, this should be illegal where government money is concerned! On to health care…. Why do disabled people struggle to get a family doctor when they move provinces? Also why did the mother of a Ukrainian disabled kid have to go back to a country that had been invaded to get help for her child that was having convulsions? She got no help here and her child was in our system by then and her husband has been paying taxes since I got him a job here 3 day a after landing. It's simple numbers, China & India have billions of people respectively! So it's the numerical probability of people of said countries to emigrate more than say people from lower populated countries ( common sense) yea I know not my problem is probably your response. I had to become the default proofreader for every group assignment because everyone's English was so poor and they didn't do basic things like cite sources. I had to call out two of my group members for plagiarizing. At least one of my classmates had never used a computer before.

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. I am an Indian, came here for ML research. Was unpleasantly surprised to witness so many unskilled Indians ruining the country. Uneducated, can't speak English, rude, unkempt. Like I love my country but I also love the country I immigrated to. I know tons of Indian friends like me who feel the same way. We all feel like we scammed ourselves into coming here. Every doordash and uber guy in Toronto is an Indian guy, who probably came here through a diploma mill. Why did Canada let this happen? Weirdly enough, even now, it's easier to get into Canada as a Khalistani terrorist or an LMIA abuser with a fake IELTS score and fake college admission letter than honest Indians who come here for higher education at good schools.
