Canada putting tariffs on American goods hurts Canadians much more than Americans.

Honestly everyone is to blame. Canada and Mexico have both been riding the American gravy train for decades and never got slapped by any of the former presidents. And now that a president who puts the US first comes along everyone acts like America and our president is in the wrong. Just because something wrong was allowed to happen for so long that doesn't mean it was right. So two things these tariffs will do to Canada. One your economy isn't exactly stellar right now. Two Trump just has to pump up the pressure further and Canada will fold. It's that simple. As for Mexico they are squarely attached to America's teet. They need us WAY more than we need them. They will fold. And during negotiations we will make them ok US military operations on the Cartels. All people see is the word tariffs and don't think about the strategy behind them. Tariffs are a tool to apply pressure and gain leverage. Canada and Mexico would do the same if they could. So lets stop with the pearl clutching.

According to google Canada's experts to Usa were 590billion dollars in 2023 and president trump put a %25 tariff for all of it excluding energy.\nNow Canada responded with 30 billion tariff with same rate things such as florida orange juice, tennessee whiskey ... and planning to put another 120billion worth of goods of Usa don't lift the tariffs in 21 days. In any way from these numbers, it looks like Usa is going to rip off canada a lot.\n\nReal response should have been %25 tariff to all usa goods without exception until they lift their tariffs!

As The President promised today, Europe including Germany is next. Of course, you can retaliate by putting tariff on our LNG. Oh, wait a minute, you can't afford doing that!!!

Unfortunately the Canadian government is playing right in the Trump‘s hands that’s Trump‘s game that’s his plan he wants counter tariffs from Canada so that he can up the tariffs to 100% that’s the plan because he wants to discourage companies in Canada and Mexico so that they’ll leave Canada and Mexico and come to the US he’s offering huge tax breaks to any companies that want to invest in the US. As Trump’s plan it’s like checkmate crown me king he just give him what he wants he knew it from the beginning and he said it if Canada counter tariffs the US he was put in his terrace at 100% but that’s the plan and the plan is to discourage companies in Canada so they’ll leave what they’re doing

Canada is not ready for this tariff war, and it is all due to the 10 years of Trudeau government. Justin promised help to people, but the only help that can be provided is in printed money, which will put Canada into even deeper depression. It may take 2 generations for Canada to recover from what Justin did to Canada.

Trump needs put very large tariffs on Mexico. The Mexican government stood by until this March of people marched all the way there. It has taken them two days to get to the border.

Everybody has some sort Internet connection. They need to look up what Tariffs are. When Trump was campaigning he said he was going to put a 25% tariff in China and all of his supporters cheered and clapped ! I’m sitting here going don’t they know that that increase cost is going to be pushed down to the consumer?!?!! It’s the everyday American who is going to end up paying that 20% 25% increased in cost!!! it’s going to affect our living standards and not in a good way! Fun fact: Columbia is where we get a major chunk of our coffee from, so now our coffee, our fuel for working Americans will get more expensive if this is a prolonged tariff! We're just hurting ourselves with these outrageous tariffs because all of these countries (even Columbia) can just sell the supply of whatever the US is putting a tariff on to other countries like in Europe or Asia, or could just put retaliatory tariffs on us, leading to a possible trade war over FUCKING COFFEE. The reason why Colombia refused the planes was because they were on military planes never in history America has ever used military planes to deport people they put them on regular planes. Can you guys report that this was a loss for Trump because the Colombian president said that he has no problem putting a tariff right back onto us. And then got his way by having the Colombians deported in a more humane way. Maga, it’s going to think this is a victory when it’s not and really, it’s just hurting the American people.

For these slow people, let me explain how this works: tariffs work as a tax on poor people. First time in the White House, Trump put a 25% tariff on China goods. Dollar Tree, which imports from china usually to sell everything for a dollar had to pay 25 cents on a dollar in taxes to collect the goods from the ports. So it passed that tax to the prices. So went from everything $1 to everything $1.25. a 25% percent inflation. Then China stopped buying soybeans from USA. Farmers went broke and Trump have to give them 29 billion in handouts so they won’t go broke. Genius?

Imagine the prices increase when he starts putting tariffs on EU? USA will have a hard time with high prices

All the energy that is going to deporting people. Hopefully someone will do the cost-benefit. Seems like a major waste of time. Imagine if the Border Bill had been passed in 2024 and by now we could have had this all under organized control without all of this spending so much money, time and effort in rounding people up and deporting them. Add to all of that the cost of tariffs that Trump is putting on Columbia and I expect others in the coming weeks and months. What a waste. Trump also not getting this whole thing organized which is the major direction we have to go in the final analysis.
