Everyone is trying to show their power through Global Politics that they are greater than others and trying to rule every country in this world before fixing their own. Trudeau has brought Canada to poverty in his so called successful 2 terms government. He should think before he talks or like Hitler he should rehearse his speech in front of a mirror before opening his mouth in public, it's a whole lot of crap coming out in public and losing his sane ability. ?

I am extremely saddened and embarrassed by our president's actions. Seeing what Donald Trump has done in the past and is doing now, I pray for him and other world leaders every day. Their political choices matter. I did not vote for Trump, his first nor second term. He did so much harm during his last presidency that fueled so much division. And yes, Vladimir Putin is absolutely playing him, and he can not see that. I'll keep on praying, and leave it in God's hands. I stand with Canada, Ukraine, and Mexico.

As a American I find the actions of Vladimir Trump absolutely disgusting! I didn't vote for that scumbag! I live right across the st Lawrence river from Canada and I love that country as well!!!

Please understand that over half of Americans are just as shocked as Canadians, and we love you as our neighbors. Justin Trudeau's drug policies in Canada have been a disaster and now he pretends he is concerned about Fentanyl [a member of the class of drugs known as fentanyls, rapid-acting opioid (synthetic opiate) drugs that alleviate pain without causing loss of consciousness (analgesic). Fentanyl depresses central nervous system (CNS) and respiratory function. Exposure to fentanyl may be fatal.] going into the United States. He is a lame-duck Prime Minister on his way out of political life let alone public office as Prime Minister of Canada. His poll numbers were miserable and he was not supported within many in his own cabinet because of his divsisive decisions with Alberta, female MPs and hypocritical and harmful actions and words as well as broken promises to the Canadian Tax payers.

I understand the Mexico tariffs because of the rampant illegal migration. The drugs and cartels coming across the border. Action is required there.

Now these are the qualities a leader should have!! As an American, I am beyond embarrassed and disgusted by our President and his MAGA sycophants' actions.

Go Canada, let him have it. Know that most Americans don’t support his actions. More than half of us DID NOT vote for him, and those that did likely had no idea what tariffs were or certainly didn’t understand how they work. I think Americans are going to have to learn the hard way that we voted in a terrible man who is even more unrestrained than the first time. The best outcome of this lose-lose situation for Republican voters is to feel the financial pain of Trump's actions. Maybe it can disillusion his cult following of heedlessly surrendering their voting power to him. With enough opposition pressured on Republicans in Congress, they may finally find a backbone and stand up for all Americans while the Democrats twiddle their thumbs.

If you understand what you have done and realize the implications, then peacefully protest (if that is still allowed with your evolving fascist/populist/authoritarian government). Contact your local, state/territorial and federal government officials. You can let your governors, senators and representatives know that you do not agree with the government’s actions and the subsequent hardship it will impose not only on the world but on you, your family and neighbours. Make change happen in a peaceful, non violent manner, while you still can. Canadian here. My husband and I listen at you here on CNN Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and we couldn't be more proud of you and your team. You say intelligent words right from the start and you deliver a strong message in a very strong manner, beginning with this: the US is declaring economic war on Canada, as well as strong arguments, and that fentanyl is just a pretext, which we all already know, that getting closer to Russia and cutting ties with its allies is Donald Trump's current course of action, and the fair question to ask is why is this man putting himself at the service of the Kremlin which is totally unnatural for an American.?

Today, I heard a true North American leader who very aptly described the situation leading up to these silly tariffs, the actions his country took to avoid the tariffs. P.M. Trudeau openly spoke of the changes that the wannabe Orange Julius threatened and why the U.S. wasn't being realistic. \n\nI know some people criticized the Prime Minister recently, but you have a great politician who is actually defending his country!!! Unite behind him and kick MAGA's arse!

Don’t let his BS fool you! Look around in your own communities. Look at the health care system. How many do you know that don’t have a GP so can’t get proper care even though they are sick. The ER tells us we have to have a general practitioner to get anything done! And then there are communities like on Vancouver Island that have closed ER’s in many cities leaving the injured to drive for 2 to 4 hours to the nearest ER. Have any Canadian citizens not heard of fentanyl deaths? Or had someone within 6 people from them have related addiction issues. How many homeless people wander the streets of your communities? This list goes on and on including things like affordable groceries , affordable homes , affordable utilities! \nACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS! Do Justin Trudeau and his parties actions over their term in office really covey their concern for Canadian citizens? I say NOT!

Honestly, I can totally understand the actions of Trump and JD in their last interview with Zelensky but these tariffs against Mexico and Canada is something I don't get it all! Trump should be getting as many allies as possible in such trouble times.

Those tariffs are such a stupid thing to do... for every country they are doing this, USA is basically making the chinese products so much more appealing for them. It would be MUCH cheaper to exchange those products for chinese ones instead of paying the tariffs. Congrats Trump, you are so afraid of China that you are actually EXPANDING its influence on the world. \nChina has actually the chance of doing something really funny now: REDUCING tariffs for those affected by Trumps actions. you know how to make sense of all of Trump's actions? if he was a Russian agent following orders from Putin. cut aid to Ukraine, create trade disputes with our allies and trade partners, significant harm to the functioning state of the federal government, etc. how is he still alive?

You say you are our friend. But, yet you don't want fair and balanced trade. Hmmm, common sense goes a long. Why does he feel the need to stroke Trump's ego, calling him a smart man, while condemning his actions. He articulates all the harm and difficulties Trump's actions, and these tariffs will cause, but refuses to point to the source of this stupidity directly, and call him out for it.
