To build a solid country like the USA you need immigrants from all over the world to keep the economic structure flowing

Vancouver real-estate is essentially a money laundering operation for rich foreigners looking to stash their money somewhere. Protections were put in place a little to late back in 2016 with the foreign buyers tax. But honestly most of these foreigners can either be exempt from this tax with their citizenship loop hole (anchor baby) Or honestly they just pay the fine since they can afford it and just need to get their money out of the country they are coming from. Its quite dystopian because building more homes like the government keeps promising isn't going to solve the problem either. This is because its just going to add more to the volume of housing that the foreigners can buy up from the locals and adding more fuel to the problem. Immigrations Canada is lying to new comers. To top it off, BC just recently passed a law in 2024 where you can no longer build single family residences in the lower mainland area. WHERE are the families going to go then? Can anyone even afford a family anymore? Vancouverites like myself who were diligent and saved every penny are walking away from mortgages in droves because who wants to lock into a 30 year term amortization period where at rate plus prime your looking at 5.5%-7% where the bank makes more than double in interest from you. Over the course of 30 years you still lose because even if your property appreciates past double. Capital Gains will take into effect. Your loosing money no matter what! It truly is a nightmare designed to enslave you financially. This is simply wealth creation suicide. Came from immigrant parents in the 1990s, I slaved for 10 years during my twenties, didn't come from wealth, didn't party, didn't have fun, studied hard, and started a business and I still cant break into the Vancouver market. So I ended up just barely squeaking into the market in Abbotsford. Vancouverites as a whole are screwed. Time to pack up and move to Alberta I suppose. I will also preface by saying that most of BC is empty and that it would make sense to built outside of the Vancouver area as Vancouver has now basically become fiscally unlivable. It might make sense for the next government that come into power to decide to invest in building in other towns and cities around BC to incentivize Canadians to move.

This video is 100% true.. where I live the majority of immigrants are Indian. I have nothing against them seeking better lives but in my opinion they need to do better screening. In my building alone there are 3 units, 2 of which are rented by Indian students. One is 4 bedroom 2 bath and other is 3 bedroom 1 bath there are no joke 16 people in both. I’ve made friends with multiple of them and they had no issue telling me they came here to work and live and barely attended any classes. If this keeps up we are in big trouble.

You guys need to consider making your politics less socialist. Quit whining, and move to Alberta or outside Vancouver, or anywhere up north. Lots of jobs, lots of money. I am not indian but if you don'twant immigration then you should have work force.you call them because you don't have enough people to work for your country.they come to your country pay fees ,do all your odds jobs pay taxes ,which you pay to your junkies, build roads your infrastructure Etc and they don't get any benefit of the tax they pay as they are not permanent resident,even they have to get private health insurance for any medical treatment.Remember covid days no immigration, Australia, Canada uk Etc all were crying for works.You need to thankful to them as they are contributing in your countries in many ways.

It's easy to blame immigration for all of Canadas problems. Sure there are a lot of Indian immigrants, however, they go to work, not bleed the system dry. Canada is a huge country, there should not be a housing crisis. However, some want to raise the prices of real estate through gentrification, stopping new housing projects. Taking years to erect a single building? What about the job scene? There is a monopoly in every field in Canada so no competition. Dingo needs to do more research.

Canada is taking in to many immigrants from (India,China,Philippines,Africa and other nation) which will force Canadians out of a job and created cheaper labour that under estimated the standard of living. Many of these people are none Christian nation and will be a threat to Canada and other part of the west. Canada should stop take in None- Christian nation of people and focus on more to build up the white Canadian people. Canada is allowing to many immigrants in the country per year and where are the real Canadian going to live in years from now to come? The cost of living will rise very high and the government need to stop this and reduce it intake of immigrants. Is Canada a Indian, Chinese or Philippines country? I heard Indians said that Canada is not a white country, and they came to take over when I was there.

It is so unfair when these new immigrants come and right away they are able to buy and own prime real estates while original Canadians that this country actually belongs to can only watch and dream of a chance of owning one but can not afford it. Worst yet most of these new immigrants they buy these homes and land not to live on it, but to build on it as for investments on behalf of investers that live in China, Hong Kong, India or some where else. This should be totally not allowed in your beloved Canada. Your Leaders and Law Makers of Canada should first and foremost consider the need and an opportunity to its people.

Small affordable apartments, studios, 2 and 3 bedrooms need to be built in the major cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal….not houses…because on the same land a house is built there could be a building …and take universities accountable for the students they take money from by having enough students rooms to shelter them because now they are in regular apartments in colocation…

And banking finance and office jobs are not what we need bring over people who can build and maintain infrastructure

We need more immigrants here. Places are closing due to labour shortage. Unfortunately we cannot house them at this moment. Slow immigration temporarily while we build housing. Shameful we invite good people here and make them sleep in streets. We need smart immigration.

Instead of blaming these people, one must question their own government authorities who make the rules and legislation to facilitate this. Maybe it's just the truth of a desperate Canadian economy that needs immigrants to keep fueling the 'aging' Canadian economic engine. These people come in and work hard, odd jobs (not to mention the exceptional skilled ones as well like Doctors, health care workers etc.) which the regular Canadian wouldn't do. I've been in Canada for 2 years without a Family doctor. Thank God, the last 10 different Doctors I met were all fresh immigrants and came to my rescue. Ask your conscience, without these immigrants, you wouldn't be getting your late night coffee at the time Hortons drive thru, no one to take your blood works without you waiting several months in waiting, no ways for universities to subsidize tuition fees for the poorer Canadian students. If immigrants stop coming in, the nice detached home you live in will go down in value, the nice truck you drive will become more expensive, your kids University tuition fees will sky rocket, Canadian companies selling groceries, furniture, etc. Will have lesser revenue and eventually get eaten up be American giants, Canadian companies won't have cheap labour to build those much needed housing. \nNot only question your government, but also question your 'own' people.. Where are they to serve you? Where are the so called patriotic 'original' Canadian Doctors'? They are off to US to earn more money. You could go other countries for study but chose Canada because it is banana Republic and you know you will get PR after some small bogus course. Australia don't even give PR to people who studied there unless they study the profession which they need. I like to go to Japan and live there so I will go for study there and then demand Japanese government to give me PR??? government is not saying no to you but government wants you to study the profession which is needed not fast food servers, security guard and truck drivers because for these jobs people are already here in Canada in tons. Most Canadians save up through their lives for 30 years to afford a house. Why do they need to own a large house as soon as they get a paid plane trip here. I grew up in apartments buildings (not a condo but rented apartment) then a town house - now I own a house. When an apartment opening comes up and a born here Canadian does need it- then bring in someone applying and they should be fluent in English and already have a needed skill to contribute to society. We cared so much about their suffering and wanted to help. We couldnt end the war in their countries so we offered them a safe place to share in our home (country) so they could build a life and live in peace. Universities should increase International tuition by at least 400%. \nThen use that money to expand their own student housing, not put it on the Provinces to build for more of these students. \nIts not fair to Canadians. Solo's hundreds of billions of dollars that the government's going to take back and taxes from us all draw the cost of housing through the roof. Instead of at the time redirecting half of those two it was 500 billion take a half of that investment in putting it into infrastructure technology innovation for industries. Our education systems from kindergarten through to postsecondary education and spending it on the Canadians that were here. We've turned our post-secondary institutions in Canada into diploma Mills where you know your VA and your you know postgraduate degrees or you know they're worthless. However the government and the education system grew into a very profitable industry grinding out worthless degree after worthless degree for foreign students who thought when they got these degrees with 50% of Canadians have. People have to realize that post-secondary education is a big business so they're going to sell you a dream that's going to cost you a lot of money what I suggest is when YouTubers want to do something on Canada do some proper research let people know that we really do have quality post-secondary education system but you have to look at when you graduate those jobs going to be there to pay that large salary does White collar jobs are disappearing almost gone I purchase an app for my company with small company about 10 employees this inexpensive app alone has taken my office staff from 7: to 2: I have a 10 Red seal tradesman tradeswomen these 10 highly skilled trades people earn between 125 and 145,000 a year in gross salary and I need five more of these highly skilled people and I can't find them cuz everybody's running in to get a useless postgraduate degree. I do find it slightly offensive that a lot of new immigrants new Canadians immigrate to Canada to purely exploit it for its wealth Canada should be looked at as a place to come put your hard work in the struggles the ups and downs? and look at it as your home instead of you know a piggy bank but people are going to leave and there's a long line up to get in I've seen in my 40 year career you know three major reps and three major downs. What's happening in Canada's economy and the economies around the world it's all the same the US economy's doing quite well and talked to last couple of weeks friends that have invested their and families have been there long-term at present the United States is building a war economy so there's money pouring into that effort it does have a booming you know Hi-Tech boom as well however the tech boom is offshore with American companies and it's taking place in a part of the world that no one would think it would take place so if your graduate in the tech industry go online do a little research you'll find out where it is the USA is building a huge chip factories I think they just poured in 70 or 80 billion dollars we're in a transitioning economy don't get discouraged put your head into it do your homework find out where these new jobs are coming from which jobs are not going to be here. Traditional White collar you know middle management upper management jobs they've been gone for years everyone's think of themselves as an independent contractor. Also if you're a millennial or was a gen z person there's going to be a massive transfer of wealth over the next 20 to 30 years as baby boomers simply die off and then you guys are going to inherit their money I live in any one of the g7 economies I just got to find your niece with your qualifications and get in there and innovate because there's not one g7 country that significantly doing better than anyone else another interesting part of the world is East Africa I'm retiring there in 5 years I've already done my homework I've already got partners I've already started to train up people there in East Africa Canada and those parts of the world they have East Africa's great basic infrastructure so now that they've got their first level base of infrastructure a second economy is built off at the service that basic infrastructure that basic infrastructure allows for that second layer a bigger layer of investment you know and that's where the real money is for mid-level investors and you know highly educated Young westerners have got 10 years into their respective careers and these are also very beautiful countries you know so you can if you got family in Canada family in Europe India Asia you know you can start building networks collaborate on projects you know in these you know emerging economies you know mid-level economies but that's you know a good 20-year grind to get good at your career and build your confidence to go into these places and get these things done also you know it's a great life adventure but never expect just because you have an advanced degree that the door even come knocking down your door to employ you if you're going to wait for the opportunity to come to you you're going to be waiting forever you got to take your advanced degrees get out there and hustle and work hard man Canada's doing fine about four or five years it's you know it's going to take off next level and it's going to boom for 40 years and it's never going to get any cheaper in g7 countries Amy's emerging economies his pockets around the world they're starting to come up to in the window to get into these emerging economies with your advanced degrees it's closing if you don't make it if you don't start looking at it in the next 5 years your degrees are going to be gone useless and if you do decide to put your career in these emerging economies like Asia South America Central America Africa do it for the right reasons not just for money we don't want to make the same mistakes as like the industrial Revolution where a few people get rich and the people in that country you know don't get anything have respect for these countries employ their people and you have to get into these places before all the big corporations get set up there cuz they're they're going there Canada's a great place as a great time free medical system and I urge anybody that's feeling down or depressed in Canada you know to go get some therapy join some clubs talk to people don't get down and mostly don't you know don't give up on yourself you guys made it through you know Elite post-secondary education system and if you can if you can do that I mean you can you can do anything a lot of hard work ahead truly best of luck to all you guys

Not to mention the environmental impact building 500 000 new houses would cause. Here is another side to this argument no one has mentioned. Bringing in this many new people causes need for more everything, homes, schools, groceries stores, etc. In the last two years my town in the GTA has built more then 20 new apartment buildings and many townhouse complexes. They are building them in the small forested areas I used to play in as a kid, buying up farms outside of town to continue urban sprawl. And yet the government claims it cares for the environment? the mass destruction of nature says otherwise.

Politicians pretends that running a government is complicated like how investors on wall street pretend what they do is complicated so that you give them your money and leave them the f*ck alone ('the big short' reference). The government needs to fund more construction projects for afforable housing like apartment building and condos. They need to tax major grocery brands, take that money and fund small grocery to introduce more competetion. They just don't want to refuse the bribe money that these major corperations are handing out.

Stop bringing in immigrants then and then watch your economy crumble. Canada has no problem bringing in immigrants who work hard, do all the long haul trucking and work all the jobs etc people born in Canada don’t want to do. The key is to make sure we have the infrastructure in place to support everyone and that’s not the fault of people aka immigrants who come to this country and are told life is good here. It’s a problem of city planners and politicians who aren’t doing their job properly.

The government has caused this problem. It needs to get out of the way. Elect people that push for progress, it's not the liberal party. Promises from the government to build affordable housing, or subsidize housing will always under deliver and just cost everyone else more.

Too much immigration to boost GDP figures. And all those people needs a place to live! They are not building homes as fast as they are importing new people! Same issue in Australia, but seems worse in Canada..

When it comes to housing, Canada copied the worst parts of American suburbia. Zoning laws prevent density and public transit is almost non existent with people being dependent on petro. The United States has many of the same problems as Canada at a local and state level. The federal government can't do much to stop it. They need to decrease immigrantion while building more density to help smooth this out, but even the average Canadian has NIMBYISM that Trudeau can't fix.

Chill bro, Canada has enough space for 100 million people. The Govt just needs to ease off on the zoning laws, get rid of the bureaucracy involved in approving new build houses.

immigration laws need to change and be more selective on which countries they allow in ..they choose not to become citizen but remain pr instead..indulging in all the perks that our for fathers and mothers fough tand died for so their ancestor could continue building this nation

Buy some acres of land, dig up the ground, place a 1000 shipping container homeless shelters beneath the land. Build a village of transitional homes upstairs on the land. Build the homes with 3d printing construction technology. Charge below market fair rent so it can help the homeless transition to getting their life together. Land is expensive people naturally would like to profit off it. This way you can still profit off the land and have a real solution to solving homelessness. It will take a 1000 people off the street inside of shelters and clean up the street. Repeat and rinse until no more homeless. There should be underground shelters and transitional homes all over the city. The government has power and resources to do these things. Or the people need to get together start a non profit organization, pool money and do it themselves.

When I passed my Post Graduation in 70' s from London University ( in Engineering) Canadian Embassy gave me Visa and One way ticket for free. While I was in Embassy waiting .. I saw some colorful journals and green in summer mounds of snow in winter. I had grown up Central Indian Climate. 5 years in England still kept me alienated environ cold weather and Culture. Most disturbing was visible Brown skin foreigners for ever.....at 2nd tier of Society ,..... after getting 4 month Valid visa I started probing fron friends who had earlier migrated to Canada. Living, impediment of long very cold winter, 1970's Canada was still racist and Parliament had strong bill waiting to stop colored immigrants and keep country white...Then in 1975 the Bill was voted down. For the reason that old white generation was aging and demanding Pension and Health Care. Welfare Chest was showing bottom and had to be replenished by tax money. Young tax payers were needed. India, China and Black Carribian were overflowing with young workers...so they had swollow Colored immigrants. Country was the largest but most commercia cities are at border of America, because north is brutal cold. Canada could not build population. 30m (10% of USA.) And Economically behind CA$= 0.80USD. Let the Visa expire...and went back to my old country to Start my Consultancy office. Lived in upper middle class tier and retiring with comfortable cushion to survive . Saw the whole world during past decades of active life... Including Canada US China . Don't regret living among brown people where my roots are. No body looks at me as colored foreigner. This is my personal history..Others have other priorities in life.

This is the price to be paid. Canada needs desperately imigration, otherwise it will disappear as a nation in 2 or 3 generations.\nBirth rates is too low. It is endeless. \nCanada is definitely an uninhabitable place. 92% of canadians live very close the US border due the miserable freezing endeless drepressing 9 months cold weather. Nobody wants go north. Freezing weather makes life unbearable and extremely expensive. If we had a free US-Canada border, Canada would  be empty..\n\n.
