Just curious, currently (before Trump's Tariffs) how much TARIFFS does Canada pay for American goods and how much TARRIFS does America pay for Canadian goods? If Trump is increasing TARIFFS more than Canada, then that's sad.

Maybe building a Boarder Wall on America's Northern Boarder would be a good idea. Canada is responsible to guard our boarders and allow in only those who we feel qualify. Canada does not close it's boarders to those who wish to leave, nor does the United States close it's boarders to those who wish to leave. What you have done is put signs on our shelves, buy Canadian. You have taken American Product from the top shelf, to the verry bottom shelf, behind the Made in China. You have closed the Travel Agencies to United States travel, nobody wants to go to your country, and I heard that there is going to be a 250% Tariff on hotel accommodations for Americans visiting Canada. It is not only about the Tariffs on Canada, who Used to be your friends, it is about your new friend Russia, who support Terrorist organizations all over the world, including the ones in Gaza who held Americans Hostage, who supports IRAN who supports Russia in murdering and raping women, kidnapping children in Ukraine, torturing and murdering citizens with their hands tied behind their backs. Justin Trudeau is a parasite...he caused 86% food inflation, causing millions of Canadians to have to rely on food banks, while Trudeau spent $81k of Canadian taxpayers dollars on groceries for himself this year alone...Trudeau underfunded Canada in relation to NATO, underfunded Canada in relation to NORAD, ticked off Trump by being rude to him in the past so that now Trump launches an economic trade war against Canada cause he just wants to hurt Canada to hurt Trudeau. Am I missing something here, the United States is at a trade deficit with Canada, why wouldn’t they place tariffs on Canadian goods to equalize that deficit?

How can tariffs that US impose be bad for the US people but Canadian tariffs are good for Canadians? Isn't it going to hurt Canadian families also?

I’m a Canadian and no fan of Prime Minister Trudeau. It’s unfortunate the best speech he ever gave was after he resigned as Prime Minister. What he has said in this speech is absolutely true, despite the fact, I think Trump is doing some good things for the USA. This Terrif war with your neighbour is stupid. Unfortunately for us in Canada our Prime Minister has not given us the tools and freedom to grow economically and prosper the way we should have. Canadians should be living like Kings, but unfortunately are living paycheque to paycheque because of the stranglehold that our Prime Minister has put on businesses and its citizens. Now Canada has very little leverage, I believe to fight this Terrif war. Canada has become a pure Cradic nightmare, like the previous administration in the United States were overtaxed over regulated and spend money like drunken sailors on stupid things that don’t help us grow and prosper.

As a canadian citizen, our prime minister has a good look & speaks well. But that's all. A lot of us are suffering up here. Everything is expensive. No jobs. More tax. More regulations. I am a Canadian and I love America and the American people. I hope we can put this behind us sooner rather than later there is no need for any tension between us. We always have each other‘s back. With that said, I would like to see Canada step up to certain obligations, including with NATO, but as far as a trade work goes, this is not good.

not sure how Canada imposing tariffs well over 200% (for decades) is being a good friend? I don't think Canadians know how much we carry you, not by buying your product, but by being severely ripped off by your government for your product. Lose the tariffs on us and we will reciprocate I'm sure.

Putting tariffs on Canadian (or Mexican) goods is like charging your neighbor to borrow your power drill.

In a best case scenario, DJT will rescind the tariffs on Canadian goods. In the worst case, we get even poorer. If this happened after Trump became president the first time, the economy was strong from 4 years of Obama's presidency. Then COVID happened, and for alot of folks here, they haven't recovered financially. Savings and retirement plans are gone. Rent is higher, for many it takes over 50% of their income. So in this emergency time, there's nothing to fall back on. Oh and DOGE will cut SNAP benefits, I'm sure. That's food stamps, meant for the people struggling. It's becoming more and more of Americans. \nAm I depressed? No, I lived through Reagan's presidency. I'm cautious about life, my job, commuting to work, putting food on the table. I'm gonna try growing veggies. I already eat 75% of my meals at home or taken from home-cooked meals. I'm saving as best I can.

Don’t be fooled, Trudeau has made the opposition in Canada much more popular with his “good talk/ opposite results. The Dems lost for this exact reason in the US America will be strong either way. Why impose tariffs? Canadians don't buy American goods anymore. That's way more effective than imposing tariffs.

Canada just needs to fix the trade deficit with the United States. If Trudeau does, the U.S. tariffs would not happen. Canada has turned a deaf ear when the U.S. requested a fair trading partner and less deficits in the past decades. Trump was obligated to put a tariff on Canadian goods entering the U.S. since Canada did not resolve the problem.
