My friend is from Mexico who came to the US legally and has been a border officer for many years now. He has a very hard time telling Mexican migrants that they cannot enter the US illegally. But the law is law and it is the same if you enter Mexico. It's just a matter of Mexico doesn't have many opportunities for jobs that pays well and it's a better life in the US. I grew up with migrants all of my life. They worked 3 jobs for many hours per day but would rather have that than go back to Mexico - with no job. If Mexico had a flourishing economy, I feel migration isn't an issue. But then there's history - California belongs to Mexico but someone sold it to the Americans long ago.

Not sure how hard is it to close our borders to get our shit fix, then we will reopen & help others..this is crazy.

okay, so these people just thought they are soo privileged that they can migrate for free, whereas there are a plenty of people who has migrated legally by investing a lot of hard earned money and skills. and many still working on legal migration.\n great work by the border patrols on time.

it's the indoctrination of young minds in education all across the west that all this is permissable that should be the real worry. As long as there's an electorate that can make the decision to vote a hard wo/man in to deal with upholding border security then there's a chance but if the country is rotten from the inside...

I happen to be one American that has fallen on hard times. Got injured, am now unemployed, and no place to live. I applied for assistance as I have paid my taxes for 40+ years now and found out I am at the bottom of a huge waiting list. I have a problem with illegals getting money and housing thrown at them and I am on the streets. Please pray for my fiancée and me.

People in america are hardly surviving themselves ,why bring in more people? More importantly people who brings in no economic gain for the country ,also people should know the difference between illigal and legal migration. Let's take those wanting to work hard, pay taxes, make a positive difference and send Americans who don't do those things back the other way.

Born and raised Cdn and every point you raise is valid IMO and experience. I love my country however, it is hard to get ahead, we work too much, and cost of living is so expensive. The reason why Canada is wonderful for those who stay is A) Charter of Rights and Freedoms - we are protected by laws and citizens enjoy legal, justice, policing and gvmt services that help protect quality of life. B) it is a safe country primarily and not easy to reach for insurgents, terrorist attacks and political anarchy etc. C) We have so much land and space for people to decide where they want to live - density is not high so you can have space. D) it is a beautiful country with awe inspiring nature. E) we do have one of the best immigrant populations and that is our crown. Being diverse is a blessing so if you are atheist, Christian, Muslim etc doesn't matter - you can enjoy freedom to worship as you wish. And F) Healthcare could improve but, the quality of care is world class and speaking as a breast cancer survivor who's treatment ran $120k (diagnostics, chemo, surgery, radiation, med professionals, rehab and drug therapies) we have access to that care whereas in other countries you may not.

I understand their situation, BUT, they need to do legally period . I came to this awesome country long time ago, though a legal port of entry, I never used a penny of Canadian taxpayer money, I raised my self up, , I work very hard, I live a wonderful lifestyle with my family, now, my country Canada ??, this country given a lot , but , I pay my fear share to the government, taxes.

My best friend started her immigration process in 2017. She was finally green lit to come to America in 2019 after marrying her long time husband over in Europe and then getting the paperwork done here in the US during that time Covid hit, and when they closed all the borders, they stopped all of the immigration process to America meaning that she was stuck in Europe away from her husband for three years. Finally last year after making her go back through the process getting all of her paperwork re-done, paying another $5000 she was able to come to the US just last month she got the start of her paperwork for her green card to work here in the US and become a full US citizen. It’s been a long process. It infuriates me that people like that who are honest, hard-working people who want to come to the US and start a life after being married, proven to have jobs and want to pay taxes and support a system. That’s willing to take them in get held up because of people like this want to come here illegally Big cause of whatever the reasons are trying to circumvent and skip over the people who are trying their hardest to do it the right way in the first place, dust dragging the system further down.

My journey to permanent citizenship took 5 long hard years of hard work, impeccable record of residency with no issues with any law or law enforcement, slogged through employment at the company who sponsored (much lesser pay). Citizenship took another 5 years of impeccable record. \nPaid taxes since day 1 to Uncle Sam.\n\nOne more thing … People born here have no housing, food or they live in projects.\n\nNow these people walk over the border in Mass and will get free everything. TX is getting inundated with illegal immigrants by the hoards. Shame on Dems for letting this get worse like this.

I arrived to Dallas Texas in 1998 with passport and two kind of visas, l worked hard like a donkey, in 2009 l received my permanent residence. I became a citizen in 2020. Those guys are trying to enter illegally and demanding everything for free: house, food, clothes and money. Ironic !!!!

Canada and others have been scolding us for so long about not being able to provide shelter, jobs and Healthcare to migrants and yet they're squirming when it happens to them. It's all easier said than done. Stop criticizing us when we can hardly survive in our own country. We can't even afford it here ourselves... Try to get your country back under control if possible. There is already so much competition right now in Denver that I will need a wife to afford to buy a home here. It is ridiculously hard to get a home here unless you make $100k a year and were sent here from California with $50-100k support from their families, us normal people cannot compete with that.

Nobody should enter any country with no granted, proper visa. Especially people from Venezuela who are leaving en masse from their country due to poor, economic conditions. Considering legitimate Americans are also experiencing hard economic times now, to have ineligible, undocumented foreigners only add up to America's homeless, and unemployed citizens.

Our government needs to get extremely tough on border control this has been an invasion and it will not stop and the ones who will be hurt is hard working Americans. We should be more angry but somehow there is a giant disconnect happening.

Those that have a stable status in their country will never know how hard is to be in a situation where you need to leave your country or they will kill you just because. The amount of immigrants I see illegally enter and cross into El Paso are insane. I know this from living right next to it all. We are talking at least once a week seeing 8+ individuals at once or even more. . . Women, Men, young Teens and even children. . . They enter our homes to find a safe haven and flee from border patrol that is roaming the streets and it’s a constant battle of keeping your home safe from people that may or may not be good people. It’s unfortunate. My grandfather immigrated to the US from Mexico years ago and did so legally. He established our family here and any other relatives since have crossed legally and obtained citizenship. It’s a hard and long process but it’s necessary.

Why doesn’t the USA just go ahead and take over the entire country of Mexico? Or hell, all the way down to the Panama Canal would be even better for America, so much more land for farms, we can control the drugs again, and dammit, Mexicans are hard workers and loyal asf

I support legal immigration. I value the hard-working people in my country who immigrated legally. But if you are running in here with armed protection, the border patrol should set their weapons to fully automatic and decimate this crowd. These are not the people we want coming into this country, they are already breaking the law to get in here. Sorry, not sorry, if you were this comfortable with breaking the law, then you might have cartel connections and we do not want you here. My wife, a teacher here in North Carolina and I, a hard working legal migrant worker and a tax payer were given a temporary visa to stay and work here in the US for 5 years and we need to exit this july because of the US revise law. I do not understand why the US government doesn’t want to give us visa that will allow us to stay long. In my working place, theres a lot of workers(asylum) from south america mostly from haiti and they keep on coming. The number of black haitian are more that the number of combine black and white american. I would say.. this people are lazy, loud, rude, can’t speak english well yet the US government look’s like they prefer them than us.

It easy to run away but why not take the hard road and fight for what is yours? I feel for them but at the end of the day eventually there will come a day when you will have to fight.
