I think in like these schools or job positions it should be about the skills of the person not the race or gender. If for example 2 people apply to a job and one is black and one is white and the white one gets picked because of his skin color then that shouldn't be acceptable. But let's say that the white guy had better skills in that exact position than the black man then i think the white guy should be picked. It's about the skill not gender race etc.

California is the same thing, people alway think diversity you don’t think that but I got racism more often in California then in other places. From schools to work places, parks to walking on the streets. I just ignored them. Some people are just plain cruel and mean. They subconsciously do that.

In Canada there will be low key racism and I have been called the world n- word many times in Toronto but only by Latino Americans, twice by a Mexican in my school, once by Peru guy then by a russian and a vietnamese. But never by a Canadian. In Toronto you will likely face more racism because it's multi cultural than any other city. But you will face racism by people who are non Canadian but more from other countries that have not accepted different races.

So... I have two daughters that were in the same high school in a town called Port McNeil. One, older and european descended and the younger, indigenous. My older daughter would frequent the local grocery store for her lunch regularly. When her younger sister began attending the same high school, she decided to join here sister at that store for lunch. Understand that my older euro daughter had been doing this every other day for the last year without incident or being approached once. The day she showed up with her sister, they were accosted by a woman who’d been “stocking the shelves” in every isle they entered and told, “you have to leave, I have better things to do than follow you around for an hour!”\nMy indigenous wife wanted to prove to me just how prevalent this was by asking me to stand an isle away from her in walmart in a near by city and sure enough, there was a person arranging the shelves a few meters away from her. This happened over and over. Shopping while indigenous is a thing.

Hi I am Christian and in high school I took a cross out of my backpack Christian cross and placed it on to my desk for a moment and I had my teacher come up to me and tell me that I need to put it in my bag because it was offencive to the person sitting next to me as well as putting my necklace that had a cross on it tucked into my shirt the student that was sitting next to me was wearing a turban and the teacher didn't say anything to him and years later my little brother when he was in grade school was told that he was going to get a detention or sent home if he didn't put his Bible away that he was reading on his free time

As a Canadian, I should mention that university here is cheaper because we don't have as many private post-secondary institutions. For example, we don't really have large schools similar in size to NYU, Liberty or Northwestern. I saw online that 20% of university students in the US go to a private institution, whereas in Canada it's not even close to 5%.

I’ve shockingly had the opposite, when I did cheerleading I was the palest girl on the entire team (and in the whole school). I’m white (European French), ow Canadian but grew up in Oakland, Calif, had a black boyfriend in High School and now have a black daughter in law so I’m comfortable and familiar with many racial issues. When Kathleen mentioned she felt uncomfortable with a white man touching her hair and saying it was beautiful, I thought that was taking her perceived racism over the top. If she had been white with the same hair only blonde it would have been equally uncomfortable. I'm a white guy who lived in another country that wasn't a white majority country. There is discrimination in western countries, but there are ways to deal with it. The discrimination I had to deal with every day was much more than this, but nobody wants to know about that. The way I lived for those several years was to realize that I was different and I just had to maximize dealing with good people and when I knew that I would have to deal with something like having to get an apartment, I took that countries national with me knowing I would get a better deal. I was grabbed by officers at night and threatened. basically whatever is faced here, I had on a regular basis. At first, it pissed me off, but later, I came up with a way to maximize my life to get the best treatment I could. I didn't think I would be coming back to America, but eventually, I came back for more schooling and ended up staying.

Racism goes both ways I’ve been treated very bad because of my pale skin hair and eyes I’ve been called albino by people of colour and I’ve never and would never do that to them growing up in the uk in an area with a high Muslim community being beaten up at school ,there where places white girls just didn’t go I hated the way I looked I started to dye my hair black I wore baggy clothes and lots of layers but I couldn’t change my eyes I would alway walk with my head down so I know what it’s like to be treated differently because of colour

They are definitely NOT victims, and deportation is only fair to other honest and legal immigrants. Make them pass a language exam of at least junior high school level, like that they'll know they can't just pay their way into the life in a free and democratic country.

Im surprised Canada allowed this to get this far. Anyone covering themselves up is very suspicious. Muslims need to stop pushing their fake religion into mainstream.
