same in USA except no minimum paid vacation maybe 5 days to 2 weeks max and for some companies none at all..if tou take a vacation you dont get paid...aside from the weather, better tax treatment in certain US states(I live in Florida) and people are friendlier in the US..healthcare is mafia run very unaffordable so you must have insurance and even then its very expensive...every system has its weaknesses..ideally work in US get paid in US dollars and spend summer and autumn in Canada...then theres double taxation so you want to make sure you are in a position where you make you money in the States so you dont get taxed from Canada as well

I was born and raised in Canada and left 30 years ago. I went to Vancouver about 10 years ago to visit family and I also found it ugly. The big glass buildings looked so dirty and outdated. It felt like an old outdated logging town. Like most Canadians, I used to be proud of the medical system but now I've realized it doesn't cure people it just keeps the citizens sick. Everyone I know there is sick and they are all proud of how many operations they've had and how many pills they take. I remember paying 30% in taxes as a University student with a part-time job. It just wasn't fair. The last straw was when I saw how the Trudeau government responded during covid. They hijacking the news stations and brainwashed the citizens. And then, they froze bank accounts of those who dared to protest or even support protesters. I lost a lot of respect for people there who I thought were intelligent and It made me realize how that place turns people into drones. Now I'm ashamed to be Canadian. Most Canadians live in a bubble and think it's the best country in the world but that's because they don't know what it's like to live. Good for you for leaving. I wish you all the best.

Two vacation and the employer also tells you you can't go in summer because the summer is peak season and you can't take two weeks together too. And just for your info US is not Black friendly. And most of people who come here are from third world and poor countries. And for them Canada is heaven. Do you think people from developed countries would come here no. Very good video. I am an Australian citizen, and I share your views. Also I want to add another reason why I prefer Canada than Australia. Being originally from Peru, I currently live in Peru, my wife is also Peruvian and a baby with 5 month at the time of writing, however there is no family reunion visa to take my whole family (only my baby who will hold Australian citizenship but not my wife) so I cannot take them both, because migrations force my wife to apply to the Partner Visa, that cost AU$7850 (US$5,600) plus agent fees, documents, ticket price, and other cost. Also the waiting period is about 24 to 28 months. So if I return to Australia, I first need to find a job, then save the $5,600, send and amount of money to Peru during my absence, then wait about 2 years and spend about $10,000 to $15,000 extra to bring my family to Australia. The cost of waiting carries a lot of anxiety, health issued due to the uncertainty and may damage my marriage, And if I get to my wife a Visitor visa, she is not allowed to work and study, and I must pay private insurance, and for experience, private insurance policies and gap costs are very high. Of course visiting my family every 6 months is costly and timely prohibited, an economic flight from Australia to Peru costs about US$2,500 and takes about 1 day or 38 hours, add also the jet lag and day difference.\nIn contrast, Canada allows me to take my whole family in just 3 months, my wife can get a working visa, and if we decided to reunite in 6 o 9 month, I can go to Peru every long weekend to visit my family, a flight from Toronto to Lima is about $500 return and only 8 hours so I can go to Peru and come back to Canada in a long weeked, a luxury imposible to do if I lived in Australia. \nWhen my father passed away here in Lima, I was in Australia at university, and due to cost and time, I couldn't go to give him a farewell and to his funeral, a issue that regretted; for that reason, my mother-in-law, who needs care and being my wife, her only child, after facing my own experience, we decided that Canada and not Australia, is a better choice, if something happens with my in-law, from Canada my wife can see her quickly.\nThank you for sharing in this video

Salams, my African sisters. I loved your informative video it’s very similar to living in the US, where I’m from. Here it is much worse, there is RACISM, CRIME, ect. You would wait 8 hours in hospital but have to pay thousands yourself. The taxes are less here but you spend so much more in healthcare and at work you get one week of vacation and you’re discouraged to take it. The cost of living is high here as well. I would like to laugh 7 minutes in to the video. U.S. current political and education system is attempting to push more tax to be Canada. Our Universities keep talking about Trickke Down Economics as a negative to their students. Trickle Down economics worked. Most societies unless you live in the bush will continue to be unequal because some people take advantage of opportunity while others stay where they are at in life. Who’s problem is that? We will always have an unequal distribution of wealth. Living in Canada is great and lovely. Yes we have high taxes but the money is used for infrastructure, good health etc. about working, living in every Western Country, you have to work to live a good life. The amount of weeks to go for vacation depends on the type of job and the years you have worked in that company and hours you have accumulated. It’s not usually 2 weeks as you stated. Lots of people gets one month, six weeks etc. About the professionalism as stated, if the university of your country is a recognized one, you may be asked to take few courses to top up to Canadian Standard. Some people who come as nurses writes their NCLEX and can work, others take few nursing courses and then write their NCLEX. Canada is a Peaceful country. If you go to school and have your profession and live a balance life, you can buy your house and enjoy life. Canada is a family oriented country.

I've never been to Canada and I'm new to this site so excuse me if I seem rude, but why are you there. I'm glad she asked the question if you would leave cause its a good question. You couldn't answer. I'm sure Canada couldnt take everyone to just make you live a vacation they want to build their country. I'd love to live there, I hear it's cold but its a choice. If it's that hard dont complain just leave. Then youd be more credible to me. Canadian born and raised here. Everything you said is true. I would add though that there are many private clinics in Canada. It’s just that even when you have the money, the private clinics are not always easy to navigate and it takes some trial and error to figure it out.

Canada takes good care of people with disabilities and the elderly if you know how to access it. Free healthcare means free doctor visits it is not only going to the hospital or for specialist visits.

As for skilled workers, applies everywhere as you need to relearn laws, policies etc and cannot get into any professional role just like that. As for work-life balance, you get plenty here unless you are working non professional jobs. It is much worse in the US as you work crazy hours professionals or not although, has more fun things to do than Canada. What you can do is take mini vacations during long weekends etc by driving down to the US or a different city here in Canada to break the monotony.

You started the video with an opinion not a fact. You can In fact gain wealth here. You have access to RRSPs and tax Free Savings accounts to help with Taxea for people earning over 6 figures. No one has tries to take your money, the policies are clear as day. You also have access to the Canadian stock market where they will allow you to keep 50% of your excess and tax the other 50%. Canada business system prefers the big franchises businesses that have millions of dollars. If you have a small shop or restaurant get beaten by the big corporations that has franchises. the food costs are high and when selling u just cant sell for a better profit that can actually make you money. The Chinese and Indians knows how to sell little many items at a low cost just to be on a very tinny profitable way to keep on going. The Multi big paying makes money in Canada not the small business immigrants come and create. I think relocating to Canada and subsequently leaving is a product of not having proper information or having a misconception about a western country before moving there in the first place. There's an emphasis of 'you really have to work hard' for new immigrants which they generally take for granted. Quite frankly, only sincere people empathize on hardwork. I find that most people seeking suggestion/advice always want to start from the top to bottom rather than bottom to top. Every society has it's own challenges. New immigrants who have just been in Canada for only 3years get frustrated while comparing themselves with people who have lived in Canada for 15 years. I live in Manitoba where the cost of living is pretty close to the cheapest in Canada. Yes minimum wage is $11.95 and apparently going up shortly. This is so true. A friend of mine who went to nursing school in Nigeria with me traveled to Canada and was demoted to an Lpn, while I only had to take the NCLEX in the US and continued my career as a professional registered nurse. The difference is much ?

I’m not defending the government in any way, but it’s easy to come into Canada with false credentials and shady people have done it, so the honest, hard working people are paying the price for that. I feel for them, but it’s very difficult for an employer to have to “weed out” someone who gave them a fake Electrician’s Licence for example. And it’s dangerous to simply take someone’s word for it who claims to be an experienced Surgeon. A coworker of mine told us about a place in the Philippines where they will sell you a counterfeit diploma from any University you choose. So ya, it is what it is.

I would rather pay my taxes to a fully functional government that can provide great public healthcare, education, competent police force with low crime rate and overall good infrastructure. \n\nIn South Africa I already pay 41% income tax. Live is a security estate where I pay over $340 per month for the upkeep over and about my mortgage bond and property taxes. I have a car and pay insurance and tracker because I cannot rely on public transport. I have private medical aid because I cannot rely on public health care. When I have children I will probably send them to private school because the good public schools are few. All the problems explained are true but they are here for a reason. It can sound cruel to make a doctor take an extra 4 years of school but you have to understand that the diploma they got in their home country is not equivelent to the quality of a canadian one. Hell, in Cambodia, you can pay 100 000K and you are a certified doctor, that can't fly in Canada.

This is the reality we face after the excitement of moving to Canada fades off. The worst for me is the fact that you get this 'big job' that pays well and after it all, govt has a way of redistributing it. You're not sharing reasons immigrants leave but trying to convince people to not come to Canada because competition is spoiling your party. Someone neutral and genuine to alert people would just highlighted the reasons. More and more immigrants will take it as a challenge and would surely come and settle in Canada

U got some facts wrong like Quebec being the most historical place in Canada. Newfoundland is actually more historical as st.johns was established in 1497 and Quebec city over 100 years later being established in 1608. Come on bro ? and newfoundland used to be it own country until we lost all our young men in world War one and our economy crashed. Now Canada takes advantage of our waters and our oil. Ffs.
