You know what, I’m an immigrant too. I came to America in 1988 from a communist country to have a better life and have religious freedom. But it took us more than 5 years, if not more, to get approved and jump every hurdle, every flaming hoop, and else they asked us to do, BUT, WE DID IT! Why do people think it’s ok to be able to come here illegally when others have to Jump through hoops to get here? And the stupid fucks who think they should be allowed to do that shit, should be made to put em up in THEIR HOMES AND NOT ON THE TAXPAYERS DOLLAR! Period point blank!!!! A country without rules will fall into anarchy. So many people do shit the right way, why do others think it’s ok to say fuck it and became a burden on the economy? Everywhere around the world, there are borders in place, and they’re there for a reason, to keep order, and to prevent illegal entry. Nobody’s saying not to come here, or that you’re not welcome or wanted here. But you have to do it the right way. Millions of people had to do it like that, by the books, the right way, you don’t get a free pass to come here illegally cause it’s hard, or it takes a long time. ?? okay I read about three dozen of the comments . They say it's a housing shortage on the news ! I lived in Buffalo New York for 50 years ! There's housing in parts of the city but suburbanite don't want to live there! While the US government is sending money to Ukraine they can send it to Buffalo New York! The population used to be over 1.2 million in the city limits in the 1930s and 40s now it's only 280,000. People they've been rebuilding the city for last 14 -16 years. But they still have a long way to go. Room can be made for more law-abiding citizens and functioning members of society in Buffalo New York! ??

I'm homeless, Navy Veteran and work full time. If housing programs can't help homeless Americans, how can we help immigrants. I want a home too. Update: I'll elaborate more on my situation. I served for four years. I lost my job as an Uber driver in 2018 after my car got repossessed. I live with my fiance who has PTSD from her family upbringing. She tries to work but she doesn't last long. We have gone to 3 different housing programs and they prove to be unhelpful. You make too much money from working they can't help you, if you make too little money they can't help you. WTF!!! All housing that is offered is usually in areas that are in high theft and homeless areas. People steal from you and you up right back in the streets. One program helped me become a fully trained security guard. We have also been in two car accidents, none were our fault. But now I'm stuck just living in a car and working full time. After I work all night I drive around at gas stations, asking people for money for gas and food. Every check I get goes to gas, food and bills. We manage our money wisely. Our money last a day and then we have to go straight back to asking for money again. Everyone I have asked for help is always a broken promise. I don't know what to do anymore.

People have been coming over legally for a long time now but not like this and I believe the reason why is because they know we have a weak president and Vice president! Here we are trying to help out Ukraine secure their borders from the Russians when we can't even protect our own!

My friend is from Mexico who came to the US legally and has been a border officer for many years now. He has a very hard time telling Mexican migrants that they cannot enter the US illegally. But the law is law and it is the same if you enter Mexico. It's just a matter of Mexico doesn't have many opportunities for jobs that pays well and it's a better life in the US. I grew up with migrants all of my life. They worked 3 jobs for many hours per day but would rather have that than go back to Mexico - with no job. If Mexico had a flourishing economy, I feel migration isn't an issue. But then there's history - California belongs to Mexico but someone sold it to the Americans long ago.

Just let them in, USA is falling anyway so a few more million migrants won’t change anything as long as democrats are in power.

I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. I live in El Salvador, but I've been thinking about moving somewhere in North America. The US is cool but, I don't want to run across all of the salvadorans who are already there LOL, I want something new. Also, I'd like to still live in, or at least not very far away, from the Americas. I'm too lazy to go to Europe, and have to learn the language there, sorry, I already speak Spanish and English well enough. Only Japan, or Brazil may change my mind, language wise (my Portuguese is enough so I could get by, and I'm also a Japanese music aficionado).\n\nOn the other hand, I love dressing very flamboyant, and, seeing how Canadians wear in the winter, with those huge sweaters and winter clothing, I wonder if it's the place for me ? (I know, that's a very ridiculous concern), also, I don't know if I'd get used to long winters. I've always said I don't like Salvadoran heat, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to trade that for Canadian winters.

I understand their situation, BUT, they need to do legally period . I came to this awesome country long time ago, though a legal port of entry, I never used a penny of Canadian taxpayer money, I raised my self up, , I work very hard, I live a wonderful lifestyle with my family, now, my country Canada ??, this country given a lot , but , I pay my fear share to the government, taxes.

My best friend started her immigration process in 2017. She was finally green lit to come to America in 2019 after marrying her long time husband over in Europe and then getting the paperwork done here in the US during that time Covid hit, and when they closed all the borders, they stopped all of the immigration process to America meaning that she was stuck in Europe away from her husband for three years. Finally last year after making her go back through the process getting all of her paperwork re-done, paying another $5000 she was able to come to the US just last month she got the start of her paperwork for her green card to work here in the US and become a full US citizen. It’s been a long process. It infuriates me that people like that who are honest, hard-working people who want to come to the US and start a life after being married, proven to have jobs and want to pay taxes and support a system. That’s willing to take them in get held up because of people like this want to come here illegally Big cause of whatever the reasons are trying to circumvent and skip over the people who are trying their hardest to do it the right way in the first place, dust dragging the system further down.

My journey to permanent citizenship took 5 long hard years of hard work, impeccable record of residency with no issues with any law or law enforcement, slogged through employment at the company who sponsored (much lesser pay). Citizenship took another 5 years of impeccable record. \nPaid taxes since day 1 to Uncle Sam.\n\nOne more thing … People born here have no housing, food or they live in projects.\n\nNow these people walk over the border in Mass and will get free everything.
