You are wrong about Canada protecting and caring about homeless and in-need people. The reality is that even though you don't see all the homeless people, there are tens of thousands of them in each city, more so in the warmer climates. The UN has already been on Canada's back for the abuse of homeless people and the cruelty towards them and those with mental health problems. Canada is a fraud and has been deceiving immigrants and visitors for over a hundred years. Many of the homeless people in Canada, especially in the past 20 years and from the start of the pandemic, continuing to this day, are now including people with good educations and many years of high-level job experiences, as well as whole families. These people became homeless because of massive job layoffs and lost everything. Contrary to the popular Canadian ideology, homeless people are not lazy slobs who don't bother to work and need to get their acts together. Many of the homeless shelters are filled with dangerous people, bed bugs, and diseases. Many homeless people choose to find alternatives to sleep safely. Many homeless women experience terrible sexual assaults that rarely are reported and rarely ever taken seriously by the police. Most alternatives to shelters are limited and there are so many restrictions that qualifying doesn't always happen. Many have had their ID stolen, so they are unable to get jobs, rent homes, or even have a day to shower and clean their clothes. Most donations of clothes, blankets, and sleeping bags are disregarded because most homeless people don't have the means to carry things. Their nutrition is terrible, through no fault of their own. Many food banks will not give food to those without a home. Many soup kitchens will only help periodically and not for every meal. Canada's treatment of homeless people and mentally people is not just disgraceful, but criminal. The general attitude of many Canadians, as taught to them by deliberate government propaganda, is that if you are poor or were abused or a victim of crime, is that they did something to deserve it. Rents across Canada are beyond the reach of the majority of Canadians, yet, Canada refuses to set up a council house system like the UK. There are no emergency homes and no emergency assistance even close to what the UK and other countries across the world provide. Canada's continued abuse, ill-treatment, crimes against humanity, and genocide of the First Nations peoples is not a past history, but an ongoing history that is not about reconciliation. It is about shutting them up so that they cannot speak and get true justice, instead of just a federal government settlement of a meager amount that has only increased the addictions of victims, who have no one to help them or a place to turn. Canada lies about trauma help and treatment for people for having been victims, or have developed PTSD (this is a brain injury and only a mental health problem if the person becomes suicidal or is unable to do the basics of essential living), and worse, Canada lies about this in relation to kids. Alberta has a place that they claim is for treating trauma in kids. However, this place is nothing more than a low-level counseling center to reunite kids with their parents, who have been removed by law. Any child requiring help has to deal with just basic counselors, who are not trained in helping traumatized and PTSD kids. In relation to the First Nations peoples, if the teens have mental health issues, and if they have to be temporarily hospitalized by their parents, social workers and doctors will force joint custody with the parents, to treat the kids or remove them so they can carry on the government's crimes against the First Nations peoples. The crimes continue. In these past few months, a baby was left to die in a basket at a nurse's station in the Misericordia Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta. The mother was allegedly treated like garbage and her child was allegedly called a specimen. But this is not the only case of such abuse of First Nations pregnant mothers and their children. A case over a decade ago allegedly also took place, and the number of these cases in this hospital alone may possibly be much higher, and other hospitals may also be hiding such crimes. An infant, who was the victim of attempted murder by one or the other parent, was put in the care of relatives by social workers, who were totally unaware of the crime, but the one parent, who was put in the hospital's mental health unit, mentioned a version of what had happened, and when the relatives found out, they were allegedly reassured by the hospital that they would deal with the matter. The relatives believed, understandably, that the hospital would report the crime, but it never did. Allegedly the hospital covered up yet another crime. The police in the city, allegedly informed at some point, one of the relatives that no charges could be laid even if the child remembered as the Canadian health services do not believe that children below the age of 4 can remember anything. It was when I heard about this that I realized that the reason Canada has gotten away with the crimes against the 1st Nations, immigrants, Canadians, and who knows how many other victims, through the mandated alleged use of forced assimilation and the alleged Soviet-style education system, is because of this fake claim that children and even infants cannot remember things. This deliberate lie to those relatives allegedly by the police, shows clearly that Canada is following the dangerous path in a more stealthy fashion than the Nazis did to the Jews and others they rounded up, arrested, tortured, and/or eventually murdered. Your perceptions are limited by your obvious lack of real knowledge and real experience. Please, if you are going to make such a video, live in Canada, all over Canada for at least 30 years, then comment, please!

As a Canadian...the ship has sailed a long time ago. There is no future here if you are looking for quality of life. If you are ok with horrible winters, unaffordable housing, and modern day slavery move to Canada. Don't believe they lies...the days of opportunity are gone. There are way more appealing and affordable countries to live in. Being enslaved is not my idea of thriving. Make your money and run like Forest.

USA is the largest economy of world, there are plenty of jobs and opportunities here, only the size of the economy of Texas State, where I live, is equal to the total economy of Canada.

Note that in Canada the population is also concentrated along the edges in this case, along the US border. I think that something like 90% of Canadians live within 50 miles of the US border. Beyond that, it's not the Outback, it's more likethe tundra. Also, Canada has a lot of beautif spots, but the are far away from each other snd sometimes from the big cities. So you will have some long trips ahead of you.

Great video!!! As an immigrant to Canada from then Czechoslovakia in the 1980, I can say that you are 100% correct in all aspects, my parents and I encountered these difficulties even back then. I stayed in Canada for 28 years, worked there, met my Slovak husband there and now we are living in Ecuador for the last 14 years - I love it here. It was impossible to live in Canada on one pension - I don't get a pension yet, so we live on my husband's - it is possible to do it here in Ecuador. As someone who grew up as an expat those statistics you quote and those descriptions of the hardships you encounter are common among expats. It is that first year that determines for most people how long they are going to stay in a foreign country. The first year of living in a foreign country is the hardest and 1 in 3 expats moving back to their home country earlier than they intended is pretty common. The turn over rate for expats is about the same as those numbers you quoted. IMO this seems to have very little to do with Canada and more about what it is like to live abroad.

By the way, I actually haven't lived in Canada myself for about a decade now. Also - my mother was a doctor in her country, but wasn't allowed to practice medicine in Canada for almost her whole career, despite us desperately needing qualified doctors. It's just crazy. So many doctors immigrate to Canada, and yet they're not allowed to practice. They should at least allow doctors who have studied abroad to write a qualifying test to practice medicine so everyone can benefit. But most medical associations are very protective of their professional turf.

I live in Canada for 20 years, I volunteered in a shutter couple of times preparing and serving food, I haven't seen any black person that's homeless, Winnipeg to be a specific where I lived, where homeless is higher there, yet you showing black people in your video as homeless?! that's just tells me you are racist yourself. \nwhere I used to live, black people especially the immigrants are business owners, and they're hard working people. \nWe all know who are the homeless and why they are homeless not because they can't find job but because they have mental problems then they end up to drugs addictions. I lived in Ontario for more than half my life, and making fun of Quebec was a cornerstone of life. If you take away montreal which is a huge outlier from the rest of the province you end up with mostly xenophobic hillbillies, lower wages, dilapidated infrastructure that becomes immediately apparent the second you cross the border, highest income tax in the country offsetting their modest property taxes, and some of the most ridiculous provincial laws ever written to preserve their French culture. My previous employer literally could not sell their medical service software in Quebec because it was not practical for them to comply with localization laws even though French language was fully supported. I personally rank rural Quebec as the worst place to live in Canada because it's one of the only places in the world that prevents businesses from operating there over bullshit like font sizes on packaging or other graphics.

Canada is not all that. First you have a government in Trudeau that wants to censor the internet, confiscate legal firearms, take away private property without due process, limit farming, euthanasia for anyone, etc. I rather stay in the USA or live in Mexico.

As someone who’s lived in Canada longer than either of you two ladies have walked the earth I can tell you the reason why Canada’s public technology is so obsolete - public institution corruption. \n\nPoliticians and public servants pay off each other and the unions against the interests of the Public.\n\nThese people are the ones who control how public funds are used and what taxpayers see from paying their taxes. You're not correct about the Quebec government banning the hijab - actually they ban all forms of religious expression in clothes worn at work by public servants - so don't criticize us unless you get the facts straight. All countries are facing public health crisis especially in the aftermath of a global pandemic, you mention how long it could take to get an MRI - weeks/months, but it's no worse than in the UK, or other western countries. I do agree with you about limited competition in banking and tech - but we're still a young and growing country, however, look at the global recession that took place in 2007 - Canada was least affected by mortgage default, the US was hit the worst and hundreds of thousands had their homes foreclosed by the Banks, yet in Canada because of our strict banking policies we were saved and the Banks worked with defaulters to try to keep their homes. Taxes, well most countries require you to file your own taxes at the end of the year - what's so strange about that? Yes sales tax is added onto the sales price depending on what province and what you are purchasing, same as US, just because it's not the same in Europe doesn't mean it's worse! Listen, when you're a newcomer to any country you need to fit in when looking for a job, put in the effort, take the time, do the work, any country is going to expect you to be able to speak the language and know the lingo, so I don't agree with your analysis that Canadians are risk adverse! You are 100% correct about the housing crisis, listen it's been going on everywhere for decades, and international investors in the past 10 years or so woke up and noticed that Canada was a great bet for investment, so the problem got really bad. The government just passed a 2 year moratorium on non Canadians buying real estate - as have many other countries, so fingers crossed no more new foreign landlords just regular Canadians buying their first homes, let's hope so!! I've lived many years in Europe - and I loved it! But the quality of life in Canada is better. If you don't live in the crowded city you can have a nice property with lots of space, good roads, not bad school system, very friendly and helpful people. Quebec has some of the best food on the North American continent, we have clean air and lots of water in Canada - I'm very happy here, so don't be so negative please!

The bitter truth must be accepted. Without any exaggeration. Completely impartial. I have to say that I didn't see a single piece of garbage in any of the other country's videos to convince myself. Without exaggeration, in all Canadian cities, you will find a piece of trash or garbage on the ground less than every hundred meters. It must have an important reason. I do not know. But this is a bitter truth. You can try. This country should be brought closer to its exaggerated claim. I lived in Vancouver for 4 years, this city is a disaster. when you drive or walk on East Hastings, Victoria Drive, Commercial Drive, West Georgia, Broadway, Main Street, Granville, and most places downtown, you never believe this city is in Canada. they're worst than some places in Africa or the 3rd world countries in Asia. I love this country and try my best to help. I came for peace. I thought Canada is a developed and first-world country like European countries, the US, Japan, South Korea, Australia, News Land, and Singapore with the western standard, and also I thought is one of the best. The first time 2018 I arrived in Vancouver, I was shocked. I saw a lot of homelessness, trash, crime, ugly urbanism, and rusty houses in downtown and east Vancouver. I saw, homeless people, pooping and peeing everywhere and it's so common. nobody cares. I was shocked again. I endured for 3 years but every day going worst. late in 2022I decided to move to the east coast because I thought that place has a stronger culture. I chose Montreal. I had heard it is the capital of art and civilization in Canada. it was absolutely wrong. Canada is Canada. I was shocked again, again, and again. the wave of homelessness, graffiti, vandalism, bad smell, terrible infrastructure especially roads in or out of the city, and above all, you can see trash everywhere. plastic bags, tissues, water bottles, and disposable cups. You cannot see any street or park or public place without these. This is impossible. surprisingly nobody cares. neither the people nor the government!!!!!!! please, don't be fooled by the advertisement about a good Canada. please, be careful. most of the things about a good Canada are deception.

Don't get me wrong, Canada is a beautiful country but be careful of wearing rose coloured glasses and thinking the grass is greener. It seems the real reason is to use it as a stepping stone to work in the US. Whatever you do, I wish you luck! btw my partner has worked FIFO all around Australia from Tasmania in the mining and construction industry for around 20 years. Not for everyone, but we get to live on a beautiful island, have our own farm, get heaps of frequent flyer points so get free overseas trips. We've made it work for us. Our Canadian friends said they'd move to Tasmania in a heartbeat if they could!

Very good video, I wish I knew it all in 2014! Taxes, OMG this was such a nasty surprise when my grocery bill was higher than what I saw on a price tag. Funny that a lot of this is true in Switzerland as well. Switzerland hates overachievers but values team work. Always respect your team, help and be polite are absolute dealbreakers. Other aspects of cultural norm also works. Remember how Canadians were closed when it comes to personal topics, Swiss people are reserved and it takes time to get closer to them but they can also been direct when it comes to a civil state, at least this happened to me. \nFunny fact: when I arrived in Switzerland I had Canadian views of a distance and annoyed people by saying 80km is close, but when I explained I used to live in Canada they understand I need time to adjust. \nI lived 5yrs in Toronto and never get issues with winter, but I hate summer heat not winter.

Each country has its own pros and cons and question is whether cons are balanced by pros. \nI remember when Austrian colleague come to Toronto for a 3 months for a scientific exchange. She was shocked, whereas I, being in my 5th year of my stay there, I no longer react but adapt to a situation. \n\nAs for doctors, I know foreign doctors who can't practice as is taking forever to get papers done. Some of them need to pass all exams from a medical school. \n\nYou reminded me how I was annoyed by tax not included in a price. In Poland price on a price tag is final, the same for the UK or Switzerland. \nSilent racism I will call it fake openness as it also touches white immigrants from Europe. The job market is sealed shut and glass door awaits. My Canadian, academic job experience was good enough for the UK and Switzerland/Liechtenstein. Funny fact, recently I got invitation to apply for a job in Canada as suddenly I am good enough. Of course no one ever invited me to the network so networking is not. Even funnier I was interviewed for a job but when I saw rent for 1 bedroom in Toronto I withdrawn my application.\n\n I was told old building in Switzerland are bad. Maybe. But after living in a carton wall studio in Toronto, now rent is above 2,000 CAN, I have very low expectations. Remember my shock when I saw quality of a buildings.

Remember this from me : everything is good to live in Canada, except one important thing , guess what , the winters, cold and cold , nothing can change it, it is a little getting better( climate change), but still is cold and cold, but the rest is ok !!!

All 10 provinces in Canada are way too similar to have any too noticeable differences on where you live, provinces in Canada aren't like the US states where all of them are so different.

I want to leave my home country bcs of low salary, corruption, no gas, no electricity in winter... Beautiful and classy ladys... Very enjoyable video. Kudos to you from a Canadian immigrant living abroad. In 1988 in a snowy day, around noon, when returning to my parked car in Square One. Mississauga ON, I slipped and fractured my right hand. The pain was excruciating. Got to the closest hospital emergency room, and I had to leave without being seen by a Dr after 4 or 5 hours waiting, in the most horrible pain I ever felt. I asked but was not given any pain killer. It was not until I returned there that night, that they could see me. They did not do X ray exam, and what they put in my fractured hand cast was incorrect, and the pain continued. Next day after begging for an appointment, I went to a regular Dr office, and she corrected the cast the hospital put wrong. After so many hours I was in excruciating pain without reliable help, made me think and decide maybe that Canada was not what I was heard about it. I had already noticed how expensive living there was. Plus the racist nature of many Canadians, made me realize that I will never have their friendship. I live in the USA ever since the year 1989, and although I absolutely love Canada, I am not interested in living there again. PS> Weather was nasty cold, but the country is prepared to life around that type of weather, so that was not a problem for me. I look forward seeing more of your videos.

Yes when I was living in Canada, I couldn't even find a general practitioner. Then when I finally found one, he was a guy right out of medical school who couldn't even recognize acid reflux syndrome etc.

It was obvious right from the start that this was just a set-up to make Canada look better. It came across as biased to get the desired outcome. I like Canada and Canadians but you do love to pat yourself on the back. I've lived in 6 places in the USA including Alaska and have been to Canada many times and have Canadian friends and neighbors here in the Arizona where I live now. Despite what you hear, most places are very safe here. All in all, I would still prefer to live in the USA.

It seems some events in Australia have angered you and now the Canada option is being viewed through rose-coloured glasses. Surprised you didn't try other cities in Australia first, I really like Perth but would find it challenging to live there. Anyway, proof will be in the the pudding. The problem is people come to this country with dreams and expectations only to see the realities of living in Canada. In my opinion their is racism but its covert its covered up with passive aggression. Ontario the G. T. A is ridiculously expensive and peoples income isn't going up. Toronto very expensive.
