Speeding and traffic fines are handed out like confetti in Europe. Fighting them in court is almost impossible. Taxes in the EU are generally higher than in Canada. What is so beautiful about the crumbling and dirty facades of European buildings and uneven and dangerous cobblestone sidewalks. Corruption, toxic politics, favoritism and protectionism are huge in the EU. Prices for consumer goods, petrol and healthcare premiums are very high in the EU. Canada is definitely less segregated as a whole, especially Quebec. Parts of Toronto are starting to head towards US levels segregation though, mainly East Brampton (Indian) and Milliken (Chinese). But for every place like that, the Toronto area has dozens of neighbourhoods that are more diverse. Mississauga and North York are diverse throughout, as well as most of Scarborough, Ajax, Pickering, Milton, Downtown, even Richmond Hill and older parts of Brampton are pretty mixed.

Canada is a dumpster fire communist hell hole. Feeling much safer how can you feel safe when your government takes your weapons. I guess you're ok with them being armed and not citizens. I get all the points you guys are making, but I think most people when they visit the states go to the worst representations of us. Yeah LA and NY are cool big cities you see in movies and shit but they’ve been cesspools for a long time. I think people would find places they like by visiting the states and cities people don’t really talk about. That said Canada is probably the only other country I’d live in, I enjoy driving and the lifestyle I have, I don’t think I could have it anywhere else honestly.

I am really shocked to hear these two girls regarding why people are leaving Canada. As I heard cost of living is too high to survive in Canada. So what is the point working hard when have no reward end of the day as all your money goes into taxes and you left with nothing. It seems to me Canadians govt ripping people off instead helping people to have better life. I am shocked that you have to wait to see doctor eight hours .It is terrible to live in Canada as you not get any luxury money but only survival money. I love Canada. It's fantastic that we don't have to worry about safety. One thing I do like about America is that you have the right to defend your home with as much force as you want. In Canada it can be difficult to defend yourself because they can make the claim that you used too much force to remove someone. I think that's bs. If you're in my house without my consent, I should be able to do whatever I want to get you out. It's my house.

welcome to the melting pot where everyone in the pots is separated like oil and water. sure we are all here, but we tend not to mix or if we do it is through a bunch of rigorous effort to try to mix and when it settles we just go back to what it was before. SO sad for sure.. definitely wish that was not the case and only the food areas were the separation for if you want greek, italian, indian, mexican, puerto rican. chinese, japanese, soul food etc. Coming from chicago I get to see all the different food styles and places but again it is so true that things are way different from canada to here. Person living in South Korea here ??‍♀️and contemplating between moving to either USA or Canada! So this was interesting! I tested the waters and traveled to the USA last year! They both made good points, food isn’t that great but the people are so sweet and inviting. I was scared because of what I usually see on the news but I didn’t experience any of the horrible things I read, but then again I was very cautious.

I was a bit skeptical when the conversation about the cost of living came up... I say this because the difference between what you need (income wise) to qualify for a mortgage in Toronto (246K), is vastly different from Montreal(117k - 123k), as according to a recent news article... Then I looked at the cost of living between Toronto and NYC and that skepticism cleared up. Nonetheless, I really think it depends on where in Canada vs US, you choose to live when discussing this particular topic.

You did miss the one important issue and that is health insurance. I think you did a good job of discussing he issue again and were genuine with your opinions. I went to montreal in 1990 and it was great because it was like Europe and so french and unlike the US. I dont know what it would be like to live there but for vacation it was fun. And i think it is obvious because you both have money now the us Healthcare system is superior to Canada. If i dont have money for health insurance, i would love Canada for being free. But if i have serious illness, the us is superior.

I used to literally cry because my dream was to be an expat outside the US, but ever since 2020 and how other Western countries handled freedom and human rights, I lost the desire to move to Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand or any other Western country that suppresses medical freedom.
