Approx 10 years ago a friend told me of an organized plan with the U.S., UN, other countries to “take United States of American” and change it into a 3rd World Country. The USA as we have known it would no longer exist. We would be reduced to the existence of appearance and daily living as a 3rd World Country, with all the lack of financial means, lawlessness, etc that goes with it.\n\nOne would say this could never happen. As a 21 year old who's lived in the UK for a year I miss how down to earth and genuine people are. Of course it's a generalization but when you find decent people this tends to be true. They're more open and not bothered by long conversations which I feel like is impossible to have with people my own age here in Toronto and this makes me feel very depressed and isolated. My European friends and I used to go for walks together and you easily lose track of time together, next thing you know you've been walking and chatting for 3 hours ?.

The problem with accepting a lot of immigration from countries like Venezuela for example is that all the good people that have some influence flees the country, leaving tyrants to stay in power longer since most of the opposition fled the country. If they want to leave the country because of the elected government they have to stay over there and solve their problem. On top of that I have many friends who came to the U.S. because of the government but go back to their country every year for vacation. I am not against immigration, and if we are smart we can get more people working and contributing with taxes, I just don’t like the fact that most of this people are good people who fled their country to leave tyrants free to do whatever they want.

i talked to some Mexican construction workers who are building my parents' retirement home there. what i make in 1 day takes them weeks, almost a month to make. i asked why don't they apply for a visa. they can't afford it and said the wait could be around 11 years and even then, visa workers are corrupt and help their friends or those who bribe them first. it's a shit situation for everyone. i'm lucky to have been born on the U.S. side of the border. it is what it is.

Although it’s kind of sad that my friendly neighbor, Mr. Lu Juan Jesus Garcia-Mendoza briefly states every single time I see him as always kind of rubbing it in, that he sends back $5,000* every month to his other wife and kids? ????

I dont feel sorry for these of people....i have friends who did it the right way, poor and without much means they still did the paper work, interviews, paid their fees, and waited years.....and yeah they made into the US - while others think they can bypass the whole system of law or order and our democracy just bc they are poor. Poverty does not give you the entitled if not demand rights to be in the US or Canada. My friend is from Mexico who came to the US legally and has been a border officer for many years now. He has a very hard time telling Mexican migrants that they cannot enter the US illegally. But the law is law and it is the same if you enter Mexico. It's just a matter of Mexico doesn't have many opportunities for jobs that pays well and it's a better life in the US. I grew up with migrants all of my life. They worked 3 jobs for many hours per day but would rather have that than go back to Mexico - with no job. If Mexico had a flourishing economy, I feel migration isn't an issue. But then there's history - California belongs to Mexico but someone sold it to the Americans long ago.

A relative of mine lives in Austrailia. She really loves instant coffee called Maxim, which is quite popular in Korea. When she visited Korea a few years ago, she grabbed a bunch because she had missed it and to bring it to some of her Korean friends. However, the coffee was taken from her because well... some weird law about dairy products and Maxim contains a substance called prim, which is like powdered milk. They seized everything and she was furious.

My best friend started her immigration process in 2017. She was finally green lit to come to America in 2019 after marrying her long time husband over in Europe and then getting the paperwork done here in the US during that time Covid hit, and when they closed all the borders, they stopped all of the immigration process to America meaning that she was stuck in Europe away from her husband for three years. Finally last year after making her go back through the process getting all of her paperwork re-done, paying another $5000 she was able to come to the US just last month she got the start of her paperwork for her green card to work here in the US and become a full US citizen. It’s been a long process. It infuriates me that people like that who are honest, hard-working people who want to come to the US and start a life after being married, proven to have jobs and want to pay taxes and support a system. That’s willing to take them in get held up because of people like this want to come here illegally Big cause of whatever the reasons are trying to circumvent and skip over the people who are trying their hardest to do it the right way in the first place, dust dragging the system further down.

my number 1 issue when i went on vacation was the food, like my gosh, I couldn't even drink the milk of how much fat it had, like, it was crazy! beagles were very sweet (which I actually liked BUT I cannot eat that everyday), it's just too much unbalance, and I was like 16... I wasn't a picky eater, so for me it was a big shock, I didn't have a healthy meal once that whole month I was there, and I was staying at my mom's friend with my mom, so it's not like I was at a hotel or something, they didn't sit down to have a family meal or cook home meal stuff for the kids even, it was just a big culture shock overall, and I personally did not rly enjoy it. When I went to visit my family in New Bedford, was pretty much the same thing, the food tasted super different, simple lettuce just didnt taste good, I mean this is my experience ofc, but the struggle with food taste was real xD

We're polite and nice until we're taken advantage of or treated like an idiot! Kindness is important, but doing what's morally right is more important to me personally! So if that means me speaking up or calling out bs when I see it, I will! I do believe in giving each person their own clean slate. I adjust according to the person! That just means I don't assume anything about a person based on race, the job they have, the car they drive, how they look, the clothes they wear. Those things have no bearing on how I choose friends! It's all about the content of one's character! I do keep to myself most of the time but strive to be kind and polite when I'm around others! But everyone is different. You will run into aholes anywhere you go! Canada is NO EXCEPTION. You have to be careful still about how you move. For example as an indigenous woman I don't go out alone after dark. You can't just trust anyone and leave yourself vulnerable because you never known what someone's intentions are. You can find people that are so unkind. You can also find some of the nicest people in the world here. I imagine the same can be said about any country. Our government certainly doesn't represent us personally. We all have our own personalities and lives! And I don't judge others based on their race religion or their government at home! When I was a kid there was no shortage of people letting me know I'd never amount to anything. So yeah you can find aholes anywhere you go! It's too bad society can't behave themselves and be able to have an open border with our family and best friends, the USA.
