I went to montreal in 1990 and it was great because it was like Europe and so french and unlike the US. I dont know what it would be like to live there but for vacation it was fun. And i think it is obvious because you both have money now the us Healthcare system is superior to Canada. If i dont have money for health insurance, i would love Canada for being free. But if i have serious illness, the us is superior.

I used to literally cry because my dream was to be an expat outside the US, but ever since 2020 and how other Western countries handled freedom and human rights, I lost the desire to move to Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand or any other Western country that suppresses medical freedom.

If I had to choose between the US and Canada, I would choose Canada. Canada I think is generally viewed positively in European countries, but the US is often seen as a basket case.

They have special deals when it comes to university tuition and child care, they have their own political party that no one else can vote for, and they force the rest of the country to have French all over the place and on everything which is mostly pointless and very few people in Canada can only speak French and can’t understand the English. The amount of crappy, unwatchable French TV/radio shows we outside Quebec have to pay for with tax dollars is beyond ridiculous.\nI know this comment will get hate especially since I mentioned Quebec which is a touchy subject.

I came to Canada in1998. It took almost a year to get my papers approved. It cost me $2'500.00 to get all the papers reviewed and my wife had to sign a paper where she will be responsible for me for the next 10 years. Are all these newcomers going to same process? The answer is no. So there is a big problem with the system. And I can almost feel that is more about votes for the Liberal Party than a big heart. Nothing against immigrants. But these country is collapsing and when it happens you will blame it on someone else.

If you want to be an entrepreneur and make things that change the world. then USA is better like for Engineers and Entrepreneur etc. In Canada is more for peoples who want take the benefits and get out of there after they have the Canada passport, bachelor degree and educate there childrens. Somebody with a brain will not continue to pay so much tax and huge cost of living and end up no saving and broke like in Africa. Also extreme weather, not enough sun etc. and no social skills.

How can a normal person can migrate to Canada to do job and other stuffs

I lived in almost every province across Canada. Spent over a decade in Halifax and some of the smaller communities. The crime there is above normal. I have lost thousands of dollars in tools multiple times from break and enters and never once had a good investigational outcome. The last time was in Truro where I lost over 20k worth of tools and household goods. I told the investigating officer who did it. The drug dealing individual was not even questioned because he was an informant for the RCMP. Ontario, Nova Scotia, and many other provinces has a false crime rate. Maybe Manitoba and Saskatchewan has a really bad crime rate because the police actually do their job. You did not mention about provincial taxes, that would definitely throw Quebec under the bus. Even though I was born in Ontario, Alberta has my number.

Being a 60 year old Michigan neighbor and frequent visitor to Canada for job duties, I can totally agree that Canada has not gotten better. They were always racist. I think it's the same when you move to any country. I have no end of work here, without university education, but it would translate to a very low paying job in another country. I have lived all my life in the best climate in Canada, but it's also one of the fastest growing areas and the traffic and endless high rise buildings have just become too much for me.\nIt seems so silly that the places I am considering moving to are the same ones that my co-workers have come from. I guess it's all about perspective.

My Canadian employer begged Immigration Canada to let me stay in Canada as I was a model employee (in their opinion) but immigration Canada kicked me out anyway as I was from a country (Eastern Europe) that Canada would not accept immigrants from ... Now as an IT pro I live and pay thousands of dollars in taxes elsewhere ...

Canada's economy can no way support so many international students esp those from Community colleges, these are not highly skilled or educated people, these community colleges and lax liberal laws are setting them up for disaster.

I disagree with both of you. You care complaining about Canada, yet you come here from another country where you don't have opportunities. I'm guessing you live in Toronto and yes it is expensive, and you haven't experienced other provinces. Toronto has a big city attitude. You are really only speaking about one city. As far as the cold weather? Don't complain about it when you're here. You should've done your research and consider how climate change is changing weather all over the world. Immigrants come to Canada and expect to get everything handed to them. Please move to another country.
