He was an illegal Mexican immigrant to the USA and he is seeking asylum in Canada. Asylum from what? The oppression in the USA?

So let me get this straight...........somehow, your PM's virtue signaling that Canada is an open paradise for immigrants, who come by the 10's of thousands only to loose all their money in legal fees an be denied is more virtuous than the U.S. saying do not come here illegally and wanting to build a wall? So Canada is allowed to enforce their immigration laws and the U.S. IS NOT? Canadians who criticize President Trump on this issue should be choking on their own hypocrisy, especially when our illegal problem is in the millions!

As someone who is more liberal minded, I don't agree with illegal immigration (I'm also pretty fiscally conservative). I'm open to the idea of healthcare for all, I'm open to legalized pot (even though I hate pot), I don't agree with most wars, and I don't give a rats ass who someone marries or who makes your cake. But all those things are for CITIZENS. That CITIZENS should have. Not someone who comes here just because they think everything is free, don't need to learn English and probably not pay taxes. This is supporting something illegal. I wish democrats could stick up for this country, rather than certain demographics. I believe we would never lose again if they could do that. This is the reason healthcare for all cannot be talked about right now. We have people thinking they can come here and do nothing with how things are now. Imagine if healthcare was free.

Every fear mongerer in this comment section should direct your anger at the U.S./Israel/Saudi foreign policy. \n\n120 drone strikes a day. The military has occupied several countries in the ME for decades. \n\nIF YOU'RE AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION OR REFUGEES, YOU MUST BE AGAINST THE SAME IN THEIR COUNTRIES!!!!\n\nHYPOCRITES

If he hadn't immigrated illegally he wouldn't be $15,000 in the hole. How stupid can you be knowing full well the concequences to your actions if you get caught breaking the law by illegally immigrating. Your family and kids being possibly being separated and spending massive amounts of money on lawyers. Look at all these comments about how people don't want these immigrants in their country. Nationals shouldn't have to change laws to cater to these people.

Imagine the bill that taxpayers will be getting......thanks Turdeau. Canadian children go to school hungry , but, I'm glad the illegal immigrants have room service and cable t.v.

We have Canadians living on the streets and Trudeau cannot do anything for them but he wants to put illegal immigrants in hotels.

Here's my message to illegal immigrants, liberals and the liberal media. This to the liberal media, Justin Trudeau said all the stuff he said about welcoming illegal immigrants with open arms and all of his Trump bashing also happened for one reason and one reason only. Because your cameras were rolling. It made him look good to all his liberal sheep and it made him feel good that he was standing up to the BIG BAD UNITED STATES AND THEIR BIG MEANIE PRESIDENT. He never for one minute meant what he was saying. Look back at all the things liberals like Chuck Schumer and Barack Obama himself were saying about illegal immigration when Obama was president. Back then they sounded exactly like Donald Trump. Even Justin Trudeau in the video clip they show in this video. I bet you people at Vice News even still think Justin Trudeau is some great awesome prime minister for standing up to the big mean US president. Yet you can't see past your rose colored glasses that he really isn't going to do a damn thing to help the illegal immigrants he promised to welcome. He'll deport them just like the big mean president. He'll just wait till they've spent all their money in Canada first.

In Canada were intelligent enough to know that this is happening because the U S is imprisoning children, deporting Americans after 20 years thanks to Trump. That's fine we took in 50,000 Syrians legally and 21,000 illegal. U S no longer safe immigration country

This video is typical CBC smokescreen, yes Immigrants and refugees get sponsored. The Legal ones! No issue. But all the illegal immigrants get one year of social insurance too.And the health care benefit they get is the same program the natives get.CBC kind of blends the rules for legal immigration with illegals kind of watering it down to make it not seem as bad. Typical blur the lines!

This story is sad but its showing only one side of the issue. It's always sad when you zoom on a particular case but there's millions like him from all around the world. We just cant take them all. We dont have housing, jobs, healthcare staff or even places in schools for all of them. Not to mention this guy works in construction ? That's crazy, in Québec there's no way an illegal immigrant can build houses... You need to have qualifications certificates for that here...

Story Correction: HE WAS AN ILLEGAL ALIEN, NOT AN UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANT. YOU ARE WELCOME.

Too much emotion here. Fact is that if a person is an illegal immigrant in both Canada or the US, they are in the custody of the state, and the state will have to house him/her. That could be a jail, or an ICE detention centre or a temporary housing accommodation, e.g. a hotel. Question is, how much is being spent? It wouldn't surprise me if the cost of the hotel is cheaper than a jail.

Illegal immigrant

Why does he consider himself a refugee ? How is he working if he has no status ?? Can we see his tax return ??? This man is crying but he is working illegally and likely not paying taxes. Most immigrants come here following the right process.

Fine example of the result of a result of irresponsible tweets of a PM that has NO concept of the actual workings of a real govt and the will of the people. Canada has a long history of welcoming immigrants as our young country was built on this premise. However they were immigrants that came here to start a new life beneficial to themselves and the country. This flood of “”irregular “ (read as illegal) cue jumpers only jam up the system that our out of touch PM chose to ignore.

Only about a year left of this CLOWN. He will be the worst footnote in Canadian politics..People need to stop voting based on look and social media and promises of free shit. Although we do have citizens, illegals and immigrants lined up to vote for him so they get their free ride. Pathetic. How about we only let in those who apply, want to learn ENGLISH and want to work>? in other words bring in 1,000,000 more hard working Phillipinos and banish the African-Middle East shit disturbing turds. Turdhole has got to go !! MCGA !!

But you won't hear these truths in any newspaper. They are all liberal rags that print what the left wants you to hear. Justin Trudeau tells the American press that Donald Trump is against illegal immigration and that he and Canada are welcoming to those in need. Now we hear the truth. He has slapped tariffs on America acting like he does so to pay back Trumps new tariffs, not mentioning that Canada has been unfairly selecting the US to bare unfair trade with Canada.

Trudeau's immigration solution: Put illegals in hotels. ..... and ain't that workin' out well for him. He's an IDIOT!!

I’m a an American that is strongly against illegal immigrants but I think this type of man is not the one I want out. Liberals assume we hate them and are racist but we’re not. We simply don’t want our tax dollars to keep funding other people’s lives while we can’t even provide for our own people. He is a hard worker who is providing for his family. His wife and kids look like good people also. I want the US to be a stepping stone for people like him. He is working hard, earning money and ensuring a better future for his children. I want him to thrive in the US.

He is not an immigrant. He is an illegal alien. Quit confusing the two.

undocumented is another word for illegal, VICE, GROW A PAIR! Here he is shown sneaking across a second border - illegally. \n\nGuess what happens when Americans of any ethnicity heads south illegally, then get found out or turned in?\n\nInstead of uprooting his heart-broken son from all his friends and a girl he really liked, and who made him feel liked, why didn't poor Jose` simply immigrate the legal way?\n\nLots of immigrants who did so legally are thoroughly disgusted when they see things like poor Jose` sobbing.

This STUPID... FUCKIN...FROG...\nTurdeau wants to put illegal immigrants in HOTELS?????????\nHow about we put our HOMELESS in hotels and put these fuckin illegals in PINE BOXES before sending them back where they came from!!!

I can't wait for the next elections. Our country is turning into a shit hole with Trudeau as a PM. Taking money from hard working tax payers and spending it on illegal immigrants and numerous embarrassing vacations.

Maybe Trudeau can take a few of the illegal immigrant families to live in the Rideau Cottage with him and his family?
|

I live in Toronto, Canada.\n\nFirstly, their are 500 men, women and children being placed in hotels temporarily. Much better than cages! \n\nSecondly, these individuals have already gone through the immigration process, hearing claims, back ground checks, medical checks. So these individuals in hotels have already been accepted to stay in Canada. They are in hotels due to Housing shortage issue. \n\nThird, way more illegal immigrants have been detained and removed from Canada. \n\nFourth, most of these people are families. Canada is very skeptical of accepting males. Sorry guys! \n\nFifth, these hotels have a contract with the government. These are the same hotels that were used to temporarily shelter Syrian refugees. Usually 3-4 families stay in one hotel. 500 people won't be staying in the same hotel. Plus the hotels charge the government an insane amount. So they make money. \n\nSixth, more than 10% of hotel cleaning jobs go unfilled. Guess what? Most of these asylum seekers end up working in the hotels they're staying in because of program called Employing Newcomers in Canadian Hotels Project. \n\nDon't worry about us America we know what we're doing. Trust me, no children were separated from their families and placed in cages.

So do we regret allowing immigrants, especially illegals, get out!
|
| 2018-08-01 | 0 |
I don't agree with illegal immigration but if the Canadian system is going to put someone through their court system instead of just throwing them out, then when the refugee loses his case the Canadian gov should at least reimburse them with their lawyer/court costs. To make the subject lose $15,000 for nothing is beyond \nfucked up.

So frikin evil I hate illegal immigrants they speak Spanish and take over jobs and people who only know English like me can’t understand them it makes life so,hard why can’t they just get the hell out of here how does it feel if your country is being illegally invaded?
|
| 2018-08-01 | 0 |
As a Canadian whose parents immigrated to Canada legally, I’m disgusted that illegals pay nothing and are given these much benefits. Why the hell did my parents pay thousands of dollars yet received no help with housing while illegals are given jobs and hotel rooms as accommodation. Trudeau is out in 2019, what a failure.
|
| 2018-07-30 | 0 |
Since 1910 Canada has maintained a strict immigration policy. Justin Trudeau's days are numbered because he is not upholding the law. He is a mental pipsqueak and a moral coward.\nCanada can stop the people from coming by turning people back at the border. If they cross the border at an unauthorized location they commit a crime and can be detained in custody. If they enter as tourists and overstay, they commit a crime and can be deported or detained in custody.\nWith a population of 35 million or so, Canada welcomes a quarter million legal immigrants per year. There is no welcome for illegal border crossers.
|
| 2018-07-29 | 0 |
Let Trudeau do this. His country will soon learn what it costs, when the USA no longer sets the example of welcoming everyone, whether tired or weary. And let Trudeau's example set an example to other nations so immigrants whether illegal or not, can go to other parts of the world to succeed and be productive people regardless of race creed or colour. \nI hope Trudeau is able to put his money where his mouth is, and I also hope the USA will continue to support our friend and neighbor.\nPeace! ?

Canadians getting upset? We're furious with Trudeau. Legal immigrants are especially. They see the unfairness of this as they went through long waits, expense, and legal channels to immigrate, only to see illegals jumping the queue ahead of their family members who are held in limbo in legal immigration applications.. Justin Trudeau is going to get absolutely annhilated in the upcoming election the likes of which no other Prime Minister has ever ever suffered before.
|
| 2018-07-28 | 0 |
Trudeau said he would welcome them. He needs to stick to his word, don't be a racist Trudeau. \n\nAs an American I fully support illegal immigrants making a better life in the soon to be Socialist Canada.
|
| 2018-07-28 | 0 |
No, Canada is not a “big place with lots of room”!!! Over 70 percent of immigration, more if it’s illegal, settles in the Toronto area, which with its terrible infrastructure, lack of roads and housing is a nightmare to live in. We already are the 6th worse commute on the planet! We are up there with Bogotá, Columbia and Istanbul, Turkey! We don’t have motorcades to chauffeur us around!\n\nRace-tension is worse than ever because of the liberals calling everyone who isn’t Muslim or black a racist. 3 years ago race was not an issue and now it’s daily news all day long.\n\nAnd this asshole is making us BROKE! Taxes and costs are sky-high. God forbid you order anything from the states or anywhere else. Customs holds EVERYTHING and taxes the shit out of it because they know you can’t fight them. Trudeau has instructed this federal agency to COLLECT every last penny off Canadians and then some. I have never been whacked like this before and this started before the trump war. I HATE this POS and his damn smirk! Wake up Canada!
|

Canadians are not ON BOARD with our baby PM's policies. We welcome immigrants but not this way!!! I am not comfortable with illegals wandering in. The world is laughing at Canada with newscasts like this. Trudeau is ruining Canada.....

Former drama teacher turned Canadian Prime Minister... yes that's right his previous job was a drama teacher.... let's neglect the fact that he was a Member of Parliament for 5 years before running as PM, and that he had already quit being a drama teacher 5 years before becoming a member of parliament. But hey this is Tucker's show and and this is fox, the truth is not at issue here.\n.\nYou know what, America - send us all your illegal immigrants, we welcome them. We have a serious need for labour. I alone am looking to employ 2 people at $14 an hour and can't find anyone. As the illegals are granted stay (until their application is processed) they generally find work and get out of the shelters within 6 months.... That's how long it takes to get work here.... 6 months... and they are being snatched up by employers. As an employer you run the risk that you may lose them if they are not granted stay. Oh and they get full health care here ) not free though). Not bad for a socialist country huh?
|
| 2018-07-27 | 0 |
i honestly might illegally immigrate to Canada now. is this actually real?
|

Illegal immigrants get a free hotel, but the homeless struggle meal to meal?!?!?\n\nI want free rent and health care too!! Here I come!!!

Oh great, I'll head north into Canada and pretend I'm an illegal immigrant and get free housing along with other benefits. Let's PARTY!

I think Trump should send our illegal immigrants to Canada.

Good job Canada don't let them get away with that illegal immigrant bs that they get away with here
|
| 2018-07-27 | 0 |
Thank god for trump and putting a stop to the mass illegal immigration!!
|
| 2018-07-27 | 0 |
You can now illegally jump the immigration line and cross the border. By doing so you will get a free hotel room and government money for the rest of your life. Its policies like this that get people like TRUMP elected. And then liberals wonder why nationalism is on the rise
|
| 2018-07-27 | 0 |
Come now, Mr Trudeau, such noble and wonderful people as you claim the illegal immigrants to be must have lived in palatial mansions in their home lands. Why do you humiliate them with the sordid indignity of hotel room living? Surely Canadians would enthusiastically welcome having their taxes trebled, in order to build a row of sparkling new palaces for the diverse and newly arrived immigrants. Perhaps your supporters would gladly skip a meal every day, to finance and provide the new arrivals with the champagne and caviar which such fine and diverse people deserve. \n\nAfter all, the added strength of the diversity they bring has caused the Canadian economy to soar, hasn't it? Surely, all the cities who have taken in the new immigrants are rolling in a bounty of increased wealth and tax revenues, aren't they?
