Lot of downsides, larger no-go areas, really\na bad thing. \nVERY MULTICULTURAL and surprise ? ?....it's working out.\n\nLike to see more accessible places by transit, but they're doing a good job, nevertheless. \nWhere else can one be by the ocean?

as a Canadian born and bread I am sadden to hear the challenges of new comers but there are a couple pieces of advice I can offer. even Canadians have to build references at adulthood. there are ways to start out. volunteering provides not only references but a sense of contribution and and community. educators and agencies you engage with as do religious institutions and any organizations you may come evolve with for references. as far as the climate dress in\n layers, invest in sturdy boots with good tread in the colder months and to get outside and learn not only to embrace but enjoy the colder months. hike the trails. the trails year round. you can pick up a cheap pair of grippers for your boots in the sporting goods department of any Canadian tire. pick up a cheap toboggan and slide down a hill. snowshoeing after a fresh fallen snow requires endurance but very little skill. its lovely how quiet how still and silent the woods are in the winter. how bright and visible the winter landscape is at night and how lush and green the woods in summer. if in Ontario definitely visit the falls. you can find culture and history in both Montreal and Quebec especially old Quebec. most people in both are bilingual in French and English and even a word or two of French is appreciated and you can be sure of a response in English.youd also be surprised at how possible it is to communicate even with a language barrier. if you are close to Toronto, you can explore many different cultures in both neighborhoods and events. Canada is NOT a good country to live in. \nThe last 30+ years between the constant increases in taxation. The criminally high cost of housing, high cost of commodities, i.e. food, clothing, fuel, utilities, and since we are now suffering from the ineptitude of Justin trudeau, more and more canadians are looking to leave the country, myself included, for the sake of our financial wellbeing, our peace of mind, and reprieve from the seemingly endless cycle of hurry up and wait for healthcare needs, personal matters, and dealing with multi tiered, multi layered government regulations for nearly everything. I personally have contacted consulates general of 12 different nations from the EU to the pan Asian region as well as the US, and will not be living in Canada by summers end 2022. Sir I have shifted to UK ..around 5 months ago...I spent around 12 years in Saudi arabia before.\nThe main difference between our country and this country is the PEOPLE.\nIts not the prices..the money etc that makes you feel better. I was earning good in saudia as well but here...its the people..that make you feel better.\nWe booked a hotel here for quarantine and the Pakistani agent who paid for us by a credit card used a fake card number or what. We received a letter from the govt about 2285 pounds due to be paid. Of course thats alot of money for new comers...and as you said there was no payment plan or anything discussed in the letter.I called them back and the first thing they asked me was Are you alright right now? Do you need anything from us? And that was...an experience I never had before in my life. Then they discussed the way outs for the dues.\nSame goes for the jobs..the positions..the hiring...not the SAUDI/AJNABI shit going on at all ! I would think about your wallet, types of activities you enjoy, political climate, year-long weather, diversity/inclusion, life stage, etc. and keep in mind that even within each province, there are different parts (cities/towns) that vary greatly e.g., rural versus urban. This is the same as ranking the US states - we will all have our opinions.

I'm from Québec, but I love all the provinces of Canada, they are just different from each other, and keep in mind even the worst in Canada is way better than a lot of countries. For me, I see the rest of Canada like family, like cousins. So I love them all. Even the native in the north, I don't see them a lot but hey, they are family too.

Whatever, the temperature doesn't count because in literally every province and territory of Canada you enjoy -30 degrees celsius every winter ! I live in Québec and once it got from -10 to about 15 degrees in a single night ! It took 3 hours and them got a nice 25 degrees difference !

My experience about Canada after living here for a few years now: \n1): Healthcare: There are two sides of it. If you need a specialist, forget about it, just live with your disease or problems and hope it will cure itself and won’t get worse. If you are in a life threatening condition and need a surgery, you’ll get it and the medical bill won’t scare you. I needed a dermatologist, never got one, eventually had to fly to the US for a simple treatment. \n2): Taxes: You’ll pay extra to take care of the large aging population of Canada and to maintain the infrastructure in the extreme cold weather. But, you can make a good use of your RRSP and TFSA accounts, and you can also buy American stocks without paying taxes. \n3): Travel and transportation: Forget about public transportation methods like buses and trains. You’re on your own. But a vehicle ownership isn’t very hard here. \n4): Social networking: Good luck with that. Good luck finding friends here or being a part of a friends group. Canadians are polite but not outgoing and extrovert. Most people make a few friends in Schools and College. You’re not going to see people of different races and origin hanging out with each other. \n5): Real estate: Population is growing, population is aging, it’s all happening but what’s not many houses are getting built. Buying your own house isn’t easy. Let me tell you something from my own experience, and at 82 y.o. a have plenty of it. If someone chooses a country into which to emigrate, he or she makes a choice to accept the conditions and adjusts to them. Canada is not a place to baby disgruntled outsiders, but gives them a chance to become Canadian. If you expect anything different, you don't deserve that chance. \nI was born in Vienna, Austria, emigrated with my girl friend to New Zealand, got married there and created two new little Kiwis, and after 5 years we packed up our family and relocated to California, where we brought up our son and daughter as Americans. We'll never forget our Austrian heritage, and are forever thankful to the friendly Kiwis for the start in life they gave us. But, once we decided to move to the US, we accepted the life style of our new neighbors and tried to fit into their society as well as we could. When we reached retirement age, we bought a modest home in Oregon, where we still live now and proudly fly the US flag on appropriate occasions. For the privilege of choosing your country, you better show your gratitude and your worth.

But in India case is different. Indian Liberals are so much in devotion to their white masters that here also they will support this white lady. \nIndians need to realize who they are and can bring our glorious culture and tradition back !

It takes me 3 months to get a doctor appointment in the US here in Seattle and I was just told several months to see my eye doctor. Depending on medical plan the insurance means you do not go to the specialist without a referral. So Canadians may not have as much to complain about. My parents were immigrants to Canada because it was easier (my father was in Danish Merchant Marine and was in China Sea when his appointment would come up in New York). They did not have it easy because they did not speak the language and worked hard to learn. Working as a housekeeper was the norm for females and my mother's education meant nothing when she expected to work in a bank. Danes stuck together and helped each other to get jobs, with carpentry (most had apprenticeships like brick laying), to socialize, etc. and this is normal for immigrants. Working multiple jobs was normal and having a great home was their American dream instead of a government apartment. It is true for all immigrants that their kids will do better than the parents. The kids will have no accent if they learn English by age 12. There are age cutoffs on learning a language in child development. During the hiring process the jobs are given to people the interviewer perceives as being like themselves. This is proven by psychologists (I am one). This puts immigrants at a disadvantage unless they have a rare skill without competition. Dad got his house and Mom took my sister and went back to Denmark because of health issues and the US has garbage medical care and social services for the elderly (poor sister didn't speak Danish because it wasn't allowed in case it impacted our English skill). As a daughter of immigrants I worked 20 hours days and weekends almost all my life. I put myself through school and have been successful despite being female and making much less than men. Immigrants need to realize that it will be their kids who make the big bucks and succeed while the parents who immigrated will struggle. As a cultural mix (US, Canadian and Danish citizen because of wacky sexist rules) I have had a lot of confusion over the years trying to fit in and figure out what my values are. I have had to ask my US husband is that behavior normal? Of course different states in the US or going 200 miles north to Canada means a different language to speak (Canadian or Spanish in the South) and different values, ways of dress, etc. so being an immigrant can mean just traveling 200 miles north or to an insane state like Texas or New York. Culture shock is everywhere but most of us move for the money. I am thinking of going back to Canada but my home was Vancouver and that now looks like a hell hole. My husband had over a million dollars in medical care and I really do not wish to lose all my assets to medical costs in the US. So now I am trying to choose between death by earthquake in BC somewhere or death by tornado or perhaps fire storm in Calgary due to climate change.

Yes we are. We went to a thrift store where they insisted they take my moms bag and put it behind the counter. They didn't say anything about my much bigger bag. My mom is brown, I'm fairly light skinned.. as a kid I witnessed a driver telling her and my sister who is also dark skinned that there is no more room on the bus (when Cleary there was) I went to get off and he saw I was with them and he let them on. If I hadn't witnessed it myself I wouldn't have believed it. What's worse was this driver was also brown. (Did I mention the fact Canada is officially a bilingual country, but New Brunswick is the only official bilingual province?) This discrepancy in language preferences of candidates can be elaborated by the TR2PR pathway that was announced in April 2021. (Did I say math? Oops, a little politics won't hurt anyone) Getting back on maths, on this date there are 196,685 profiles in the CRS pool, which equates to around CAD 590,065,500 in ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING FEE alone. 2 years later it's gonna be another, and another, and another........you get the idea right?\n\nCanada welcomes you to spend some money, but there's no guarantees.

Canada is like 3 countries in one, so it really depends where you are, especially if you wish to talk about culture. Im guessing you are in western Canada because that part is one of the youngest parts of Canada, it doesnt have much culture. Tho if you are in central Canada (Ontario) you'll most get a blend of american and english culture. The place where hawaiian and canadian pizza invented. Ontario is obsessed with pizza. \nTho the Eastern part is where Canadian culture is at its strongest AKA French Canada. Thats where most Canadian traditions like the Rigodon music and traditional food comes from such as: Pâté Chinois, Tourtière, Poutine, Donair, Poudigne Chômeur, Tarte au Sucre, Tarte au Fraise et Rhubarb and so on. French Canada even has its own version of french, its so different from the rest of the world that when a when they meet they wont understand half the words each sides say. French Canadian is based on the old french of the French nobility tho it completely disapeared in France during the revolutionary era because everyone that spoke it got executed. So french Canadian is basically a unique language now, i can totally see it getting rename as Canadian the language of Canada in the future especially of the west does indeed seperate. Manitoba would be ranked top 3.... its cold? Probably no different than any other province. Rarely snows and is probably the most fun province to be in the winter. So many festivals and outdoor events. It has a NHL team to enjoy. Spring and fall is #1 in manitoba of all in Canada. Most beautiful summers and has the nicest beaches and lakes in Canada. Not 1 province can compete with summer life. So how would you rank it #10??.... they make more Hollywood films in Winnipeg than Toronto/Vancouver. Jobs? Education? Rivals any city in Canada. Thats nonsense what was said in this video. NHL abd CFL players love living here over other cdn cities so that just says it all

Being an immigrant myself I find that if you want the same thing you had before moving here the same food you had the same standard of living you will be very dissapointed. You are moving because you are not happy with that life so adapting to different standard of living food medical care ect… you should chage yourself also. It all depends on your goals of what you really want.

The biggest issue is most immigration in Canada are highly skilled people the Canadian government are looking to exploit via taxes. Canada is only a good Country if you want to sit on your ass and do nothing. The more you make the more they take to pay for everyone else. I have no choice but to stay in this Country (born and raised), but I have travelled a bit with the Canadian Military and if my life was different I would probably try and find another Country to try.

City of vancouver now forces businesses to charge fees for bags and cups. s of Jan. 1, businesses are now banned from using single-use plastic and compostable plastic shopping bags, and must charge a minimum fee of 15 cents for paper bags, which increases to 25 cents in 2023.disposable cups will now come with price of $0.25. Just fyi, Ontario is the biggest province in terms of population size and not Quebec, and by far. However, Montreal (Quebec biggest city) is indeed one of the best city in Canada because of it's different cultural/shows events that are happening almost all year long, and it's very diverse as well. Also, in the western part of Montreal it wouldn't be a problem for a unilingual anglophone to live there because everyone is bilingual or unilingual English. Quebec city is also the oldest city in North America, a very nice place to visit and only 250 km from Montreal. If one is working in the financial sector however Toronto remains the real option in my opinion, but his way more expensive and so, so boring compared to Montreal.
