Send them back. I came to canada in 2017 as an international student, paid shit tons of money for housing, tuition fees. Worked full time after graduation,yet my immigration process is taking long. Evey step I took went through proper screening, and yet it's taking forever. Send them back. At this point theres no gurantee for people like me to get permanent residence over here. With all the back logs etc. So why should they be granted status, while my work permit expires in 6 months and immigration officers wont bother to answer my phone calls for extension. I have paid my taxes, I have obeyed the law. I'm a law abiding citizen. At this point, I'm even thinking of going back. This country wants new talents and more people to add to their workforce. But if they treat people like me like this. Then we might as well go back.

Of course they feel safe and super secure here in Canada because the govt will provide them everything, food, shelter and the monthly financial allowances. On the other hand, Canadian govt is getting credit and be known as the best humanitarian country in the world with the expense of its citizens working hard to earn a living. I am just voicing my sentiments here coz it took me 10 years before I am reunited with my family here. I was a nurse back home and in UAE entered here as caregiver. Before get back to my profession, I underwent many struggles and hardship. And still striving to live a comfortable life since everything is expensive now a days and govt seems no care to its citizens. instead, looking after of their world image. And I know a lot of people spending thousand of dollars for student visas to to enter legally here with their family back home financially drown with debts. And Some working visa still waiting for years get their open permit and Permanent res up now.

Just another example of why Canada has changed for the worse, once upon a time it was a good country to live in, back in the 60's ....

Helping people is ok, but it needs to happen in a structured way, so that you don’t destroy your own society. I’m from Belgium and just like any nation in Europe. Multiculturalism has been promoted since the 90’s. There is no way back, and there certainly is no room for racism because of that. However a society needs to be able keep it’s integrity intact. That needs to be decoupled from the emotional aspect.

In 2010 I had a one way ticket to Florida to visit some friends. At the airport they pulled me aside and said that if I didn’t come back to Canada within 14 days I’d never be allowed back into America again. I was traumatized and never went back. But here we are 13 years later and I can just walk wherever I want to go on this side of the world lol…but for real, this is sad. If you aren’t used to Canadian temperatures your in trouble. Canada is pretty good with French immigration, the Middle East immigration and with people that are going to give something in exchange in their view, then all those people take the best and more they could and go back to their Countries. My dad fought in a civil war when he was in Africa, he applied to live in Australia but was denied.. After being arrested many times in his country and threatened with death he applied to Canada and was accepted. He can’t stand illegal boarder crossers because all it does is back up the system for people who are actually need to get out of a war torn country. I was a backpacker in Australia and I have family that migrated 25 years ago. I think you should have spent more time up north. Loads of lovely photos to take in Broome. Go deep in the outback and meet the indigenious communities. I was invited to closed land and got to experience and see the indigenious holy land. I know ''PERTH'' is regional but regional true regional is where the culture is. I was obviously there for a different experience but from a photography point of view there is a lot to be seen. Cape Tribulation Groote Eylandt. Housing wise it is mega expensive and flights would make my eyes water flying back to the UK. I totally get what you are saying regarding immigration. Why doesn't the US turn them back before they even get to Canada.

The people crossing into Canada illegally aren't refugee's. They stopped being refugee's when they came into the USA because they were then safe. They are picking and choosing with Canada. The story neglects to mention that the ‘safe third country’ agreement is a problem because a Superior Court Judge ruled the US is not a safe country for detainees. I know a lot about the laid back mentality. If you can make above 100K a year, the governments of Quebec and Canada take a 55% and take another 15% on almost everything you buy in Quebec. Another thing: You also have to wait sometimes 14hrs + at the hospital if ist not a critical emergency. The driving license cost 130$ every year and the license plate minimum 225$ each year. You wanna know how much it is to put a license plate on your fancy new speed bike? 2000$ EACH YEAR! outch!

How about this one I was born and raised in Canada I’m 80 years old and have no family Dr I tried for years to get one I finally got one when I ended up in hospital and a kind nurse got me one who went on maternity leave and didn’t come back I asked if someone else could take me I was told no and yet they were new doctors they I came to the conclusion I was the wrong colour for the place !!! It is due to the type of people Canada tries to lure, middle class, well educated who can pay at least $35,000 to migrate. \n\nThis type of person will get disapointed very quickly if they don't find exactly what they expect, in oposition of the type of migrant the US has been trying to drag, people who burnt their ships and have no way to go back.

I am one of the persons who worked in Canada for 8 yrs and voluntarily took transfer with the same company back to India. My savings and quality of life is much better in India.

My favorite beggar story in Canada was when I was in the Future Cafe in Toronro. (Best bread I ever had was there.) A guy came up to me and asked for money. So I being young and stupid pulled some money out of my wallet and gave him some, he then proceeded to lecture me on how to help a pan handler. He told me to tell them no, leave, get the money out of my wallet then come back to them and give it, that way they do not know where my wallet is. (Lol) My most unfav. was 8 months before when I first went to Canada and was at the Toronto bus station. A man asked me for money, so I gave him the last few dollars I had. (Seriously I even held up my wallet and showed him it was my last few bills. At that time I was leaving Canada for New York and didn't think I would need them ever again.) Another man who saw this exchange came up and asked me for money, before the other guy had even left. I told him I had just given the last of my money to the other guy, and he proceeded to yell at me calling me a liar and even pushed me.
